UPSALA, Sweden, February 13. DURING the first long course meter finals session of the Swedish Grand Prix, Sarah Sjostrom and Simon Sjodin both managed to double up.<\/p>\n

The Morning Swim Show karma was in full effect for Sjostrom. Just a day after appearing on The Morning Swim Show<\/a> with Peter Busch, Sjostrom enjoyed a strong day of competition. First, she cruised in the women's 200 free with a winning time of 2:01.99. Nathalie Lindborg (2:04.49) and Sara Thyden (2:07.28) rounded out the top three in that event. Sjostrom returned in the women's 100 fly with a swift time of 59.99 for the win. Martina Granstrom (1:01.21) and Alisa Tsypin (1:03.02) finished second and third.<\/p>\n

Sjodin won the men's 400 IM in 4:28.66. Simon Frank took second in 4:35.69, while Anton Andersson finished third in 4:38.12. Sjodin doubled up with a 2:06.47 in the men's 200 fly. Pavel Naroskin finished a distant second in 2:11.17, while Andreas Edlund took third in 2:14.65.<\/p>\n

Petter Stymne began the finals session with a 51.26 to win the men's 100 free. Mattias Carlsson placed second in 52.29, while Robin Andreasson finished third in 52.36. Carlson wound up winning the men's 100 back in 58.24. Kristian Kron (58.49) and Konstantin Sundin (58.95) claimed second and third. Kron later won the men's 400 free in 4:12.31. He overtook Gabriel Bertrand, who led most of the way until fading in the final 50 to take second in 4:12.56. Johan Magnusson finished third in 4:13.11.<\/p>\n

Greek's Ioannis Karpouzlis won the men's 50 breast in 29.43. Niklas Tour (29.74), Oskar Moller (29.95) and Yaron Shagalov (29.95) completed the podium. Magdelena Kuras cleared 30 seconds to win the women's 50 back with a 29.80. Lovisa Ericsson finished second in 30.12, while Emma Svensson placed third in 30.25.<\/p>\n

Jennie Johansson snatched the women's 100 breast title in 1:09.48, while Joline Hostman placed second in 1:10.46. Elin Martensson took third in 1:11.37. Stina Gardell won the women's 200 IM in 2:16.84, while Thyden earned her second podium with a 2:17.34. Anat Zimin placed third in 2:20.60.<\/p>\n

Claire Hedenskog captured the women's 50 free with a 26.16. Svensson finished second in 26.32, while Lindborg took third in 26.53. Chris Jones eased through the men's 200 breast with a winning time of 2:22.63. Andreas Furst took second in 2:25.40, while Erik Lofgren-Bengtson finished third in 2:27.66.<\/p>\n

Ida Sandin snagged the women's 800 free crown going away with a 9:09.62. Grandstrom placed a distant second in 9:20.73, while Josefine Hippi picked up third in 9:24.08. Lars Frolander earned the men's 50 fly title in 24.81. Stymne finished second in 25.34, while Fotios Koliopoulos wound up third in 25.62. Katlin Sepp concluded the session with a 2:16.95 to win the women's 200 back.
