{"id":232949,"date":"2016-12-09T19:42:57","date_gmt":"2016-12-10T02:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=232949"},"modified":"2016-12-10T09:32:26","modified_gmt":"2016-12-10T16:32:26","slug":"sam-pomajevich-blasts-two-wins-on-quick-night-two-at-ncap-invite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sam-pomajevich-blasts-two-wins-on-quick-night-two-at-ncap-invite\/","title":{"rendered":"Sam Pomajevich Blasts Two Wins on Quick Night Two at NCAP Invite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first full session of finals at the Nation&#8217;s Capital Invitational at Eppley Natatorium in College Park, Md., featured a myriad of tight races and fast swims, but the headliner was Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sam Pomajevich<\/strong>, who posted blistering swims on his way to wins in the open boys&#8217; 200 free and 100 fly.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Boys NCAP Invite Day 2 Recap\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/toxFM9oG2DY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Pomajevich dominated the 200 free, posting a time of 1:33.58, and minutes later he won the 100 fly in 47.49. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Anna Belousova<\/strong> also picked up two wins, capturing first in the girls&#8217; 100 breast (1:00.76) and 400 IM (4:13.74).<\/p>\n<p>Central Bucks&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Morgan Scott<\/strong> cruised to the top spot in the girls&#8217; 200 free, clocking 1:47.74, and Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isabella Gati<\/strong> won the 100 fly in 53.88. On the boys&#8217; side, NCAP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Spencer Rowe<\/strong> edged teammate\u00a0<strong>Timothy Wu<\/strong> to win the 100 breast, 54.90 to 55.24, and Machine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Casey Storch<\/strong> pulled away to win the 400 IM in 3:49.11.<\/p>\n<p>Poseidon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Noah Nichols<\/strong> and Machine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Charles<\/strong> each won two victories in the 13-14 boys competition. Nichols took first in the 100 breast (57.67) and 400 IM (4:08.68), while Charles won the 200 free in touch-out fashion, finishing in 1:43.84, as well as the 100 fly in 52.14.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the 13-14 age group, NCAP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> blasted a 53.42 to win the girls&#8217; 100 fly, the fastest time by any female swimmer at the meet. That&#8217;s less than a half-second off\u00a0<strong>Tristen Ulett&#8217;s<\/strong> NAG record of 52.97 set earlier this year. Bacon moves past National Team members\u00a0<strong>Felicia Lee<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Kendyl Stewart<\/strong> into sixth all-time in the 13-14 age group in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Westchester Aquatic Club teammates\u00a0<strong>Esther Lin<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Yilinna Collmar<\/strong> won two events apiece in the 11-12 girls age group Friday night. Lin swept the 50 breast (30.75) and 50 fly (28.82), and Collmar won both the 100 free (53.21) and 100 back (58.76).<\/p>\n<p>NCAP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cole Greenberg<\/strong> won the same two events as Collmar in the 11-12 boys&#8217; division, posting strong times of 50.41 in the 100 free and 56.34 in the 100 back.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the session, the winners from Thursday night&#8217;s &#8220;<strong>Fran Crippen<\/strong> Memorial Mile&#8221;\u00a0were recognized for their efforts in the 1650. They included, in the 13-14 age group, Suburban Seahawks&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Madison Kolessar\u00a0<\/strong>(16:38.65) and\u00a0NCAP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leo Goldblatt<\/strong> (16:09.31), and in the open division, NCAP&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Victoria McCullough<\/strong> (16:59.82) and her teammate\u00a0<strong>Lane Stone<\/strong> (14:59.93).<\/p>\n<p>NCAP won all three 200 free relays Friday night, including the 13-14 girls (1:35.33), 13-14 boys (1:29.33), open girls (1:32.45) and open boys (1:21.56). They did get a bit of a run in the open boys&#8217; relay, though, as Machine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tommy Hallock<\/strong> led off in a swift 20.01. But Nation&#8217;s Capital&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brandon Hamblin<\/strong> took the lead with a 19.83 split on the second leg, and that foursome ended up winning by three tenths of a
