Women’s 400 IM:<\/h3>\n
Brooke Forde<\/strong> of Lakeside Aquatics jumped to an early lead in finals of the women’s 400 individual medley and never once looked back. Forde led by 3\/4 of the pool by the time she turned from the breaststroke to freestyle leg, ending the race with a time of 4:02.51. That time stands as a new Junior Nationals Championship record.<\/p>\n
Carmel Swim Club’s\u00a0Samantha Burchill\u00a0<\/strong>picked up second with a time of 4:11.16, just ahead of teammate\u00a0Kelly Pash\u00a0<\/strong>and her third place finish of 4:11.66.<\/p>\n
Madison Homovich\u00a0<\/strong>of Marlins of Raleigh slipped to fourth with a final time of 4:11.84, while SwimMAC’s\u00a0Julia Menkhaus<\/strong> took home fifth with a 4:12.66.<\/p>\n
Nashville Aquatic Club’s\u00a0Ella Nelson<\/strong> (4:12.91), Tampa Bay’s\u00a0Christin Rockway\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.08), and Marlins of Raleigh’s\u00a0Kathleen Moore<\/strong> (4:16.32) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n
Men’s 400 IM:<\/h3>\n
Penn Charter’s\u00a0Reece Whitley<\/strong> held off the competition in finals of the men’s 400 individual medley. Whitley, best known for his breaststroke abilities, posted a first place finish of 3:47.15 to earn the gold.<\/p>\n
Carson Foster<\/strong> of the Mason Manta Rays moved up from a sixth place seed to claim silver in the event with a final time of 3:48.09. Foster improved upon his prelims time of 3:51.94 by 3.85 seconds.<\/p>\n
Ridgefield Aquatics’\u00a0Kieran Smith\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the bronze medal with a time of 3:49.19, followed closely by Red Bank YMCA’s\u00a0Christopher Smith’s\u00a0<\/strong>3:49.27.<\/p>\n
Talmadge Davis\u00a0<\/strong>of Team Greenville finished fifth overall with a 3:49.91, while Gulliver Swim Club’s\u00a0Miguel Cancel<\/strong> picked up a sixth place finish of 3:51.68.<\/p>\n
Dynamo’s\u00a0Jeffrey Durmer\u00a0<\/strong>and Blue Dolfins’\u00a0John Fulginiti\u00a0<\/strong>were seventh and eighth respectively with times of 3:51.94 and 3:54.47.<\/p>\n
Women’s 100 Fly:<\/h3>\n
Isabel Ivey<\/strong> of Gator Swim Club grabbed a narrow victory over\u00a0Olivia Carter<\/strong> in the final of the women’s 100 fly. Ivey stopped the clock a slim .04 seconds ahead of Carter with a final time of 52.61. Carter finished second with a time of 52.65.<\/p>\n
Pine Crest’s\u00a0Jessica Nava\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with a time of 52.91 to earn the bronze medal.<\/p>\n
Tristen Ulett<\/strong> of Dynamo Swim Club took fourth with a 53.14, followed by Gator Swim Club’s\u00a0Talia Bates<\/strong> and her time of 53.37.<\/p>\n
Carmel’s\u00a0Gertrude Rothrock\u00a0<\/strong>(53.74), Blue Ash YMCA’s\u00a0Megan Glass<\/strong>, and\u00a0Alessandra\u00a0<\/strong>Balder\u00a0<\/b>(54.38) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n
Men’s 100 Fly:<\/h3>\n
Camden Murphy<\/strong> of Kingfish Aquatics blasted to the top of the podium in finals of the men’s 100 fly. Murphy, originally seeded fourth after prelims, posted a final time of 46.84 to finish just ahead of top seed\u00a0Noah Lense<\/strong> of Ohio State. Lense grabbed second with a time of 46.91.<\/p>\n
Nicolas Albiero<\/strong> of Cardinal Aquatics picked up the bronze medal with a final time of 47.15, while fourth went to Bolles’\u00a0Ariel Spektor\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 47.39.<\/p>\n
Michigan Lakeshore’s\u00a0Spencer Carl\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth overall with a 47.61, followed by Bolles’\u00a0Willie Davis’\u00a0<\/strong>47.85.<\/p>\n
Corey Gambardella\u00a0<\/strong>of Soundview YMCA and\u00a0Cody Bybee<\/strong> of the Dayton Raiders tied for seventh with matching times of 48.58.<\/p>\n
Women’s 200 Free:<\/h3>\n
After a short break\u00a0Isabel Ivey<\/strong> of Gator Swim Club returned to the pool and earned her second gold medal of the day. Ivey stopped the clock at a 1:43.64 to finish a decisive first.<\/p>\n
Greater Tampa’s\u00a0Morgan Tankersley\u00a0<\/strong>earned the silver medal with a time of 1:44.39, while Lakeside’s\u00a0Brooke Forde<\/strong> added a bronze medal to her collection with a final time of 1:45.68.<\/p>\n
Emma Nordin\u00a0<\/strong>of Carmel took fourth overall with a time of 1:46.47, followed closely by teammate\u00a0Kelly Pash’s<\/strong> 1:46.67.<\/p>\n
Excel’s\u00a0Riley Gaines<\/strong> (1:47.29), SwimAtlanta’s\u00a0Emma Alexander<\/strong> (1:47.61), and Mason Manta Rays’\u00a0Hannah Foster<\/strong> completed the top eight.<\/p>\n
Men’s 200 Free:<\/h3>\n
Carmel’s\u00a0Drew Kibler<\/strong> and SwimMAC’s\u00a0John Walker\u00a0<\/strong>held a tight race throughout the eight lengths of the men’s 200 free, finishing 1-2 with a slim .33 seconds separating their final times. Kibler blasted up from his eighth place seed to finish first with a time of 1:33.40, while Walker posted a second place finish of 1:33.73.<\/p>\n
Countryside YMCA’s\u00a0Grant House<\/strong> picked up the bronze medal with a time of 1:35.27, followed by Michigan Lakeshore’s\u00a0Spencer Carl’s\u00a0<\/strong>1:36.31.<\/p>\n
Parker Neri<\/strong> of Upper Arlington grabbed fifth overall with a time of 1:36.46, just ahead of Upper Dublin’s\u00a0Jake Sannem<\/strong> and his time of 1:37.02.<\/p>\n
Dayton Raiders’\u00a0Cody Bybee\u00a0<\/strong>and Cincinnati Marlin’s\u00a0Justin Grender<\/strong> finished seventh and eighth with times of 1:37.34 and 1:38.59 respectively.<\/p>\n

National Aquatic Club’s Alexandra Walsh<\/strong> set a new USA Junior Nationals East Record with a time of 58.80 to win the championship finals in the 100 breaststroke. Emil Weiss<\/strong> finished second with a time of 1:00.34 and Allison Raab<\/strong> was a close third finishing with a time of 1:00.63<\/p>\n

With impressive back to back swims, Alexandra Walsh <\/strong>from Nashville Aquatic Club\u00a0jumped out of the pool after winning the 100 breaststroke to capture first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.32. \u00a0Julia Menkhaus from SwimMAC Carolina took second with a time of 52.64 followed by Madeline Cohen<\/strong> from SwimAtlanta who finished with a time of 53.21.<\/p>\n
