THE Clemson men and women&#39;s swimming and diving finished up the dual meet season at McHugh Natatorium with Clemson&#39;s men winning 182-116 while Duke&#39;s women took the win 158-142. Clemson&#39;s men now improve to 6-4 overall and 1-4 in the ACC, while the women fall to 8-5 overall and 2-4 in the conference.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This was a nice win for the men,&quot; said Head Coach Christopher Ip.<br \/>\n&quot;It is always a good thing to finish the regular season on a win. I<br \/>\nthought we had great leadership from our seniors today and the<br \/>\nunderclassmen were a great supporting class. This is the way we want<br \/>\nto honor our seniors. On the women&#39;s side, it was a great meet.<br \/>\nThese meets have been very close and we just have to win more races.<br \/>\nWe have been in the right position but just need to get more wins.<br \/>\nThis was another good meet and hopefully our women can get hungry by<br \/>\nthe ACC Championships. I also want to say congratulations to our<br \/>\nseniors.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers started the day strong by winning the 200 medley relay on<br \/>\nboth the men&#39;s and women&#39;s side. The women&#39;s group of Kelli Kyle,<br \/>\nKatrina Obas, Maddie Tarantolo and Meg Anderson won in a time of<br \/>\n1:44.06, while the men&#39;s group of Jason Chatlosh, Kyle Shoemaker, Seth<br \/>\nBroster and Eric Bruck won in a time of 1:32.00.<\/p>\n<p>The men also finished strong in the 1000 free as they took first and<br \/>\nsecond with sophomore Alex Carr taking the win with a 9:30.77 and<br \/>\nfellow sophomore Will Clark coming in second.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman Kristen Redmond took second in the 200 free with seniors<br \/>\nJoanna Rakoczy and Rachel Hesler taking third and fourth for the<br \/>\nwomen. On the men&#39;s side, sophomore Lee Groseclose won the 200 free<br \/>\nwith a 1:41.37, just out-touching junior David Gordon who took second<br \/>\nwith a 1:41.38.<\/p>\n<p>The women then got another win with sophomore Kelli Kyle finishing<br \/>\nfirst in the 100 back. Seniors Thomas Recko and Jason Chatlosh made<br \/>\nit a one-two finish on the men&#39;s side. Recko also had a win in the<br \/>\n200 back and freshman Sarah Andrews won for the women.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Chris Dart won the 100 breast for the men and senior Katrina<br \/>\nObas took second in the event on the women&#39;s side. Senior Matt<br \/>\nAngelini then had a second place finish in the 200 fly for the men<br \/>\nwith a time of 1:54.16.<\/p>\n<p>Freshmen Meg Anderson and Eric Bruck continued their strong<br \/>\nperformances in the sprint freestyle events as Anderson won the 50<br \/>\nfree and the 100 free for the Tigers and Bruck won the 50 free for the<br \/>\nmen.<\/p>\n<p>In the 100 free, Seth Broster, Chris Dart and Lee Groseclose made it a<br \/>\none-two-three sweep for the Tigers and then David Gordon and Chris<br \/>\nDart then had a one-two finish for the Tigers in the 500 free.<\/p>\n<p>The 400 IM was a strong event for the Tigers, as freshman Tori Cervone<br \/>\ntook first for the women and Matt Anglini, Alex Carr and Andrew<br \/>\nAbeysinghe finished first, second and third respectively for the men.<br \/>\nThe Tigers then took first in the 400 free relay on both the men&#39;s and<br \/>\nwomen&#39;s side.<\/p>\n<p>In diving, Senior David Giambra took second on the three-meter with a<br \/>\n327.00 and third on the one-meter with a school record 357.75. On the<br \/>\nwomen&#39;s side, freshman Elizabeth Tatum finished third on the one-meter<br \/>\nwith a 259.95 and third on the three-meter with a 285.75, with both<br \/>\nscores being zone qualifying scores.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigers will now prepare for the ACC Championships that will take<br \/>\nplace in Chapel Hill, NC.
