AUSTIN, Texas \u2013 Texas got some big swims from some big names at their home invite on Friday.<\/p>\n

Wins from All-American Jonathan Roberts<\/strong> and Olympians Jack Conger<\/strong> and Townley Haas<\/strong> led the Longhorns at the Texas Invitational.<\/p>\n

Conger clocked the nation’s third-fastest time this season in the 100-yard butterfly to win in 44.94.<\/p>\n

Roberts stood fourth after 300 yards in the 400 IM before running down Stanford’s Curtis Ogren<\/strong> to win. Roberts, an All-American in the event last season, outsplit Ogren by more than a second in the final 50 yards to take the win in 3:41.65.<\/p>\n

Haas, the defending NCAA champion and the American record holder in the event, took the win from lane one at 1:33.72 while his Olympics teammate, Texas senior Clark Smith<\/strong>, placed fifth at 1:34.51.<\/p>\n

USC’s Carsten Vissering<\/strong> won the 100 breaststroke (52.17). Denver’s Anton Loncar won the 100 backstroke (45.68).<\/p>\n

Vissering, Ralf Tribuntsov, Dylan Carter<\/strong> and Santo Condorelli<\/strong> won the 200 medley relay (1:25.22).<\/p>\n

In the women’s meet, Texas senior Tasija Karosas<\/strong> lowered her school record in the 100-yard backstroke for a second straight night.<\/p>\n

Karosas, who lowered her 100 backstroke school mark from 51.40 to 51.08 while leading off the 400 medley relay Thursday evening, took the record even lower Friday evening and became the first Longhorn to clear 51 seconds in the event, finishing in 50.86, good for the No. 2 time in the country this season. Teammate Claire Adams<\/strong> was second (51.97).<\/p>\n

All-America senior Madisyn Cox<\/strong> swam to victory in the 400 individual medley. Cox, who broke Kathleen Hersey<\/strong>‘s seven-year-old school mark in the 200 IM on Thursday, posted the No. 3 mark in the country and the second-fastest time ever at Texas with a 4:03.16.<\/p>\n

USC’s Louise Hansson<\/strong> won the 100 butterfly (51.17) ahead of Texas sophomore Remedy Rule<\/strong> (52.03). USC’s Riley Scott<\/strong> won the 100 breaststroke (59.8).<\/p>\n

Scott and Hansson teamed with Hannah Weiss<\/strong> and Anika Apostalon<\/strong> to win the 200 medley relay (1:37.63).<\/p>\n

Wisconsin’s Cierra Runge<\/strong> won the 200 freestyle in an NCAA “A” cut of 1:43.18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
