The Hokies blew out all other teams on the men&#8217;s side, scoring 1287 points as Purdue edged Navy for second overall, 659.5 to 641.5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jessica Hespeler<\/strong> opened the session strong for the Hokies with a three-second win in the women&#8217;s 1650 free. Hespeler swam in 16:09.56, and Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kaersten Meitz<\/strong> finished second in 16:12.88. Well back in third was Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jenna Beattie<\/strong> in 16:37.48. Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholas McDermott<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s mile in 15:31.18, ahead of Yale&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Lerude<\/strong> (15:39.09) and Navy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Braden Fauffer<\/strong> (15:41.25).<\/p>\n<p>The Hokies finished 1-2 in the women&#8217;s 200 back as\u00a0<strong>Klaudia Nazieblo\u00a0<\/strong>dominated, finishing in 1:54.56, and teammate\u00a0<strong>Fiona Donnelly<\/strong> took second in 1:56.27. William &amp; Mary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sophie Rittenhouse\u00a0<\/strong>got third in 1:59.01. Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Owen\u00a0<\/strong>then dominated the men&#8217;s 200 back in 1:43.21. Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jake Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>edged VT&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Workman<\/strong> for second, 1:47.31 to 1:47.37.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Adriana Grabski<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 100 free in 50.28, just ahead of William &amp; Mary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jaimie Miller<\/strong> (50.36), Hespeler (50.55), Villanova&#8217;s <strong>Alexa Fabbri<\/strong> (50.55) and\u00a0<strong>Jackie Smailis<\/strong> (50.62). Purdue got its first win of the night in the men&#8217;s 100 free, where\u00a0<strong>Filip Bujoczek<\/strong> clocked 44.33. William &amp; Mary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joseph Eiden<\/strong> picked up runner-up honors in 45.04, and Yale&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Henry Gaissert<\/strong> was third in 45.26.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kelly Henry<\/strong> held off Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cady Farlow<\/strong> for the top spot in the women&#8217;s 200 breast, 2:14.47 to 2:14.80. Old Dominion&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashley Brown<\/strong> came in third at 2:17.37. Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Malat Amaltdinov<\/strong> dominated the men&#8217;s 200 breast in 1:54.95. Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brandon Fiala<\/strong> (1:57.28) and Navy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marlin Brutkiewicz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.42) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Purdue swept the top three spots in the women&#8217;s 200 fly.\u00a0<strong>Emmy Rawson\u00a0<\/strong>won the race in 1:58.36, ahead of teammates\u00a0<strong>Taite Kitchel<\/strong> (1:58.95) and\u00a0<strong>Meagan Lim<\/strong> (2:00.29). Virginia Tech&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Norbert Szabo\u00a0<\/strong>won the last individual race of the meet, cruising in the men&#8217;s 200 fly in 1:45.51. Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Grant Lewis<\/strong> finished second in 1:49.55, and Navy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nick Pfanstiel<\/strong> touched third in 1:50.37.<\/p>\n<p>The Hokies rounded out the weekend with a pair of wins in the 400 free relays. Donnelly, Hespeler, Grabski and Nazieblo<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 3:19.31, more than a second ahead of Purdue, which finished second in 3:20.35. Well back in third was Villanova in 3:23.67. Minutes later, Szabo,\u00a0<strong>Ian Ho<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Harrison Pierce<\/strong> and Fiala won the men&#8217;s 400 free relay in 2:58.22, the only squad under 3:00.
