﻿{"id":229884,"date":"2016-11-18T21:27:13","date_gmt":"2016-11-19T04:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=229884"},"modified":"2016-11-18T21:27:13","modified_gmt":"2016-11-19T04:27:13","slug":"229884-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/229884-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Auburn Women Build Lead at Georgia Tech Invitational"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Dan D&#8217;Addona.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Auburn women continued to lead at the Georgia Tech Invitational.<\/p>\n<p>After the second day, the Tigers lead with 760 points, ahead of Florida (610), Alabama (581), Arkansas (465), South Carolina (449), Florida Gulf Coast (390), Georgia Tech (317) and East Carolina (219).<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s meet, Alabama leads with 804 points, ahead of Florida (755), Georgia Tech (631.5), South Carolina (542.5), East Carolina (240), BYU (121) and Auburn (divers only 102).<\/p>\n<p>Alabama&#8217;s<strong> Katie Coughlin, Bridget Blood, Hannah Musser<\/strong> and <strong>Bailey Scott<\/strong> won the 200 medley relay (1:38.29), edging Auburn&#8217;s <strong>Aly Tetzloff, Natasha Lloyd, Haley Black<\/strong> and <strong>Julie Meynen<\/strong> (1:38.8).<\/p>\n<p>Alabama&#8217;s <strong>Mia Nonnenberg<\/strong> won the 400 IM (4:08.3) in an NCAA provisional cut. Blood won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.82).<\/p>\n<p>Black (52.33) and Tetzloff (52.44) went 1-2 in the 100 butterfly for Auburn.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s <strong>Amelia Maughan<\/strong> won the 200 freestyle (1:45.68) ahead of Georgia Tech&#8217;s <strong>Iris Wang<\/strong> (1:45.92), both NCAA B cuts.<\/p>\n<p>In the closest race of the night, Florida freshman <strong>Emma Ball<\/strong> (52.53) edged Alabama&#8217;s <strong>Katie Coughlin<\/strong> by one hundredth of a second to win the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Maughan, <strong>Kelsey Dambacher, Savanna Faulconer<\/strong> and <strong>Niki Urquidi<\/strong> won the 800 freestyle relay (7:13.2).<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s meet, Alabama&#8217;s <strong>Connor Oslin, Pavel Romanov, Luke Kaliszak<\/strong> and <strong>Zane Waddell<\/strong> won the 200 medley relay (1:24.52). Kaliszak won the 100 backstroke (45.29).<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s <strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> dominated in the 100 butterfly (44.86), an NCAA automatic cut \u2014 nearly three seconds faster than Waddell (47.1). <strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong> won the 200 freestyle (1:34.82), going 1-2 with <strong>Mitch D&#8217;Arrigo<\/strong> (1:34.95).<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s <strong>Jan Switkowski<\/strong> won the 400 IM (3:44.45) barely holding off teammate <strong>Mark Szaranek<\/strong> (3:44.68). The duo teamed with Rooney and D&#8217;Arrigo to win the 800 freestyle relay (6:21.88).<\/p>\n<p>South Carolina&#8217;s <strong>Nils Wich-Glasen<\/strong> won the 100 breaststroke (52.74).
