Jangid swims for Santa Clara Swim Club and attends Adrian Wilcox High School. The senior is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.<\/p>\n<p>Jangid said of his decision,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I chose Cal Poly simply because it was the perfect fit. Surrounded by the beautiful landscape, San Luis Obispo is a welcoming city that has all the opportunities available for me. Cal Poly encompasses a community of students that strive for excellence. I admire Coach Milich&#8217;s program because the swimmers are so well rounded in the pool and in school. The team is an outstanding group of individuals who pursue high academic and athletic standards. I am very excited to be part of such an exceptional team!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This summer Jangid became a USA Swimming Winter Junior National qualifier in the 200 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>His best yards times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Fly 23.93<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 50.80<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly 1:52.26<\/li>\n<li>100 Back 53.70<\/li>\n<li>100 Free 49.15<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>His best 200 butterfly time would have made Jangid a B finalist at last year&#8217;s Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships. Sophomore\u00a0<strong>Zachary Cootes\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.28) and freshman\u00a0<strong>Zack Allen\u00a0<\/strong>both scored in the event. The duo will still be on campus when Jangid arrives next fall and should make for great training partners.
