Bolles swept the men’s and women’s Florida High School 1A state titles Friday night.<\/p>\n

Girls Meet<\/h3>\n
The women’s meet came down to the final relay of the night.<\/p>\n
Lake Highland Prep edged Bolles and Trinity Prep for the opening 200 medley relay.\u00a0Abby Burke<\/strong>,\u00a0Em Brown<\/strong>,\u00a0Carley Lowe<\/strong>, and\u00a0Anderson Myers\u00a0<\/strong>secured the win in 1:44.09 ahead of Bolles’\u00a0Abi Wilder<\/strong>,\u00a0Katherine Baker<\/strong>,\u00a0Kate Wilkerson,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Stefanie Mendizabal\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:44.60. Wrapping up the podium Trinity Prep’s\u00a0Grace Olivardia,\u00a0<\/strong>Jenessa Schwarz,\u00a0<\/strong>Claire Maiocco<\/strong>, and\u00a0Summer Heidish\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:44.81.<\/p>\n
Ransom Everglades’\u00a0Kyla Valls\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:45.96 to win the 200 freestyle. Also under 1:50 were South Floria Heat’s\u00a0Mary Smutny\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.62) and Montverde’s\u00a0Kaitlyn Schorr\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.07).<\/p>\n
USA Swimming National Junior Team Member\u00a0Isabel Ivey\u00a0<\/strong>pulled off an impressive double. Racing for Oak Hall she posted a 1:57.31 in the 200 IM, ahead of Lowe in 1:59.65. Ivey then returned to the blocks in the next event where she out touched Pine Crest’s\u00a0Marta Ciesla\u00a0<\/strong>22.51 to 22.61 for the 50 freestyle title. Ciesla then secured a state crown of her own with a 49.67 in the 100 freestyle, just faster than Schorr in 49.74 and Valls with a 49.98.<\/p>\n
The 100 butterfly had a tight final, with the top two swimmers clearing the state record. Westminster Academy’s\u00a0Jessica Nava\u00a0<\/strong>kept her record, stopping the clock in 53.45. Fellow junior,\u00a0Alessa Baldari\u00a0<\/strong>of Benjamin, posted a 53.59. Trinity Prep’s\u00a0Claire Maiocco\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 53.84, just .07 shy of the old mark. Nava landed a second win with a 54.55 100 backstroke. Wilder was second (55.03) and Saint Andrew’s\u00a0Lauren Hew\u00a0<\/strong>(55.29) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n
Community School sophomore\u00a0Emma Feehery\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 4:49.00 to win the 500 freestyle. Tampa Catholic’s\u00a0Christin Rockway\u00a0<\/strong>was on her heels (4:50.50). Pine Crest’s\u00a0Hannah Virgin\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.06 and Bolles’ Baker was runner up with a 1:04.92.<\/p>\n
Andrea Santander<\/strong>,\u00a0Alexandra Meszaros<\/strong>,\u00a0Jamie Flores<\/strong>, and Ciesla powered Pine Crest to a commanding win in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:35.12. Saint Andrew’s (1:37.20) and Monteverde (1:37.42) touched second and third.<\/p>\n
Lake Highland Prep’s Myers, Lowe,\u00a0Alix Roy<\/strong>, and Burke edged Pine Crest’s Meszaros,\u00a0Annabella Lyn<\/strong>, Virgin, and Ciesla by .07 as the two teams finished in 3:26.95 and 3:27.02. Bolles finished third in 3:30.42, securing enough points to take the team title.<\/p>\n
Bolles went home with 270 points to Pine Crest’s 260. Lake Highland Prep scored 256 points for third.<\/p>\n
Boys Meet<\/h3>\n
The Bolles boys ended the meet with a more dominating score than their female counterparts to claim their 29th straight state title.<\/p>\n
Matt Serra<\/strong>,\u00a0James Daugherty<\/strong>,\u00a0Ariel Spektor<\/strong>, and\u00a0Gabi Gomez Treig\u00a0<\/strong>got things off to a quick start with a 1:29.36 in the 200 medley relay.\u00a0Nicholas Sharp<\/strong>,\u00a0Izaak Bastian,\u00a0<\/strong>Jesse Marsh<\/strong>, and\u00a0Andrej Sokolovski\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:33.21 for Saint Andrew’s.\u00a0Matthew Degtyar<\/strong>,\u00a0Aidan Mclaughlin<\/strong>, Arrington Moses<\/strong>, and\u00a0Jan Collazo Torres\u00a0<\/strong>were third for Trinity Prep in 1:35.12.<\/p>\n
Individually, Bolles only won two events, taking the top two places in both cases. Daugherty and\u00a0Paul DeGrado\u00a0<\/strong>topped the 100 breaststroke podium in 54.39 and 55.56. Saint Andrew’s’\u00a0Bastian was third (55.68). Spektor (47.84) then won the 100 butterfly ahead of Serra (48.82). Episcopal’s\u00a0Cole Crane\u00a0<\/strong>(49.89) was also under 50 seconds.<\/p>\n
Berkeley’s\u00a0Robert Cecil\u00a0<\/strong>took the sprint free double with a 45.07 in the 100 freestyle after a 20.73 in the 50. Bastian was the 50 runner up, just .02 behind in 20.75. In the 100 Bolles’ Gomez Treig swam a 45.42.<\/p>\n
Bishop Verot’s\u00a0Santi Corredor <\/strong>also won twice. He\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in the 500 free (4:23.90). In the 200 IM Corredor stopped the clock in 1:47.63 with Nsu School’s\u00a0Patrick Groters\u00a0<\/strong>swimming a 1:48.52 for second. Groters\u00a0cleared the 50 marker with a winning 49.19 in\u00a0the 100 backstroke. After leading off Bolles’ medley relay, Serra posted a 50.30 for runner up honors.\u00a0Lake Highland Prep’s\u00a0Hayden Curley\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.04) won the 200 freestyle.<\/p>\n
Bolles completed a relay sweep. Gomez Treig, Spektor,\u00a0Jake Adcock<\/strong>, and\u00a0John Pate\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:23.45 ahead of Trinity Prep (1:24.91) and Berkeley (1:25.96). With a 3:03.01 Spektor, Gomez Treig, Serra, and Pate had a commanding lead over Berkeley (3:07.83) and Pine Crest (3:08.04).<\/p>\n
Bolles ended the day with 384 points. Berkeley\u00a0scored 209, just seven more than third place Pine Crest.<\/p>\n
