AUSTIN, Texas, December 4. THE second night of the Texas Invite featured three more NCAA Division I A cuts occur in short course yard competition.<\/p>\n
Arizona's Jack Brown cleared the NCAA Division I A standard in the men's 400 IM with a time of 3:44.41. Teammates Clark Burckle (3:45.38), Cory Chitwood (3:46.32) and Austen Thompson (3:46.97) placed second through fourth for the Wildcats.<\/p>\n
Arizona's Ana Agy and Wisconsin's Maggie Meyer tied for the women's 100 back crown in matching 52.64s. Both times cleared the NCAA Division I A cut. Texas' Jessica Guro placed third in 53.87.<\/p>\n
Texas' Guro, Laura Sogar, Kathleen Hersey and Karlee Bispo topped out the women's 200 medley relay in 1:38.44, while Arizona's Agy, Annie Chandler, Erin Campbell and Justine Schluntz touched just behind in second with a 1:38.54. Arizona's B team of Hannah Ross, Ellyn Baumgardner, Whitney Lopus and Lisha Smith finished third in 1:40.14.<\/p>\n
Texas' Hill Taylor, Scott Spann, Ricky Berens and Jimmy Feigen claimed the men's 200 medley relay in a time of 1:26.71. Meanwhile, Arizona's Jake Tapp, Marcus Titus, Bryan O'Connor and Jordan Smith placed second in 1:27.03. Auburn's Kohlton Norys, Michael Silva, Tyler McGill and Gideon Louw picked up third in 1:27.64. Arizona's Alyssa Anderson touched out Texas' Leah Gingrich, 4:09.37 to 4:09.53, in the women's 400 IM. Arizona's Jenny Forster pocketed third in 4:11.31. <\/p>\n
Tucson Ford's Lacey Nymeyer emerged from a foursome of 1:46s with the win in the women's 200 free. She clocked a 1:46.04, while Arizona's Leone Vorster took second in 1:46.22. Bispo (1:46.49) and Anderson (1:46.51) touched third and fourth. Berens clipped Arizona's Jean Basson, 1:34.62 to 1:34.66, in the men's 200 free. Arizona's Nimrod Shapira Bar-Or completed the top three in 1:35.38.<\/p>\n
Chandler earned the women's 100 breast title in 1:00.59, while Sogar placed second in 1:01.28. Baumgardner finished third in 1:01.60. Arizona swept the podium in the men's 100 breast with Titus winning in 53.38. Burckle (54.14) and Kevin Munsch (54.53) took second and third. Tapp captured the men's 100 back in 47.46, while Texas' Cole Cragin placed second in 47.58. Taylor took third in 47.80.<\/p>\n
The 800 free relays closed out the day. Texas' Hersey, Gingrich, Brie Powers and Adrienne Woods won the women's 800 free relay in 7:15.90. Wisconsin's Laura Miller, Rosie Morahan, Ruby Martin and Meyer took second in 7:23.13. Texas' Kelsey Amundsen, Traci Van Matre, Becca Tomlin and Susana Escobar finished third in 7:26.64.<\/p>\n
Auburn's McGill, Norys, Pascal Wollach and Kyle Owens claimed the men's 800 free relay in 6:40.20. UC Davis' Scott Weltz, Adam Borchard, Jordan Lager and Ed Morrison took second in 6:41.33. Wisconsin's Austin Cox, Luke Lengfeld, Chuck Allison III and Derrick O'Donnell grabbed third in 6:51.61.<\/p>\n
In diving action, Texas' Maren Taylor won the women's one-meter with 304.10 points, while SMU's Audra Egenholf took second with 279.65 points. UCLA's Karina Silva placed third with 255.75 points. Texas' Drew Livingston (427.20) and Matt Cooper (402.65) wound up first and second in the men's three-meter.
