For more information about Agon, visit their website <\/i><\/i><i><i><a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><em>By Emily Messina, Swimming World College Intern<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, November 4<sup>th<\/sup> the best high school swimmers in Florida\u2019s Class 3A will have the opportunity to fight for the top spot in the pool in their State Championship meet. The meet will be held at Sailfish Splashpark Aquatic Athletics Center.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Gainesville will look to defend their state title.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alena Kraus<\/strong> returns as defending champion in the 100 and 200 Freestyle. Also returning are <strong>Savannah Buch<\/strong> and <strong>Monona Martin<\/strong> who look to score big points for the team. Additionally, diver <strong>Skylar Cannon<\/strong> could put up important points for Gainesville. The team is seeded first in both the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays.<\/p>\n<p>Fort Lauderdale finished second in 2015, but watch\u00a0for them to try to\u00a0chase down Doral Academy this year.<\/p>\n<p>They have a strong showing in the freestyle events with <strong>Tyler Zuyus<\/strong> seeded second in the 200 Freestyle and senior <strong>Philippe Marcoux<\/strong> first in the 50 Freestyle and second in the 100 Freestyle. They will also look to gain points from their diver, <strong>Kylian Lorient<\/strong>. The team is holds the third seed in the 400 Freestyle Relay.<\/p>\n<p>A number of fast swimmers from Creekside (St. Johns) graduated, so look\u00a0for Belen Jesuit (Miami) to try to slide ahead of them in the standings this year.<\/p>\n<p>Belen holds the top seed in the 200 Medley Relay, the second spot in the 400 Freestyle Relay, and the third seed in the 200 Freestyle Relay.\u00a0Junior <strong>Aitor Fungairino<\/strong> is first in the 200 Freestyle and second in the 500 Freestyle. He will be accompanied in both of these races by rookie <strong>Andres Wong<\/strong>.\u00a0Senior <strong>Alejandro Carriazo<\/strong> holds the second spot in the 100 Butterfly and the fourth in the 100 Backstroke. They also return senior <strong>Max Garcia del Pozo<\/strong> in the 100 Butterfly. He took second last year.
