Denmark’s\u00a0Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>was three tenths faster than Hungarian\u00a0Katinka Hosszu.\u00a0<\/strong>The two took gold and silver in 52.46 and 52.76. American\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>completed the podium in 53.01. Her USA teammate\u00a0Eva Merrell\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth (54.54) behind Canada’s\u00a0Michelle Williams\u00a0<\/strong>(53.88).<\/p>\n Finland’s\u00a0Hanna-Marie Seppala\u00a0<\/strong>(54.71), Russian’s\u00a0Daria Ustinova\u00a0<\/strong>(54.86) and China’s\u00a0Yue Wu\u00a0<\/strong>(55.15) finished sixth, seventh, and eighth.<\/p>\n In the men’s first event of the morning, Belgium’s\u00a0Pieter Timmers\u00a0<\/strong>out touched Great Britain’s\u00a0James Guy\u00a0<\/strong>1:44.57 to 1:44.59. Japan’s\u00a0Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a 1:45.81 for third, just .09 faster than Hungary’s\u00a0Peter Bernek<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Poul Sellmann\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.15) of Great Britain, Columbia’s\u00a0Omar Pinzon Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.96), Canada’s\u00a0Jeremy Bagshaw\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.28) and the USA’s\u00a0Andrew Joseph Abruzzo\u00a0<\/strong>(1:51.05) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n In the final sprint breaststroke event of the world cup, Jamaica’s\u00a0Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first with a 29.20. American\u00a0Molly Hannis <\/strong>(29.75)\u00a0touched just before Russian\u00a0Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>(29.77) and her own teammate\u00a0Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(29.88).<\/p>\n Sarah Vasey\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain was fifth in 30.52 while Iceland’s\u00a0Hrafnhildur Luthersdottir\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth in 30.73. Wrapping up the final were USA’s\u00a0Zoe Bartel\u00a0<\/strong>(31.17) and Canada’s\u00a0Rachel Nicol\u00a0<\/strong>(31.22).<\/p>\n The top four swimmers cleared a minute with Brazil’s\u00a0Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>leading the charge in 57.32. Germany’s\u00a0Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>(58.53) was .01 faster than Japan’s\u00a0Yasuhiro Koseki\u00a0<\/strong>(58.54). His teammate\u00a0Ippei Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>(59.37) was fourth. In 1:00.08\u00a0Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA finished fifth. Syria’s\u00a0Azad Al Barazi\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.51), Hong Kong’s\u00a0Hoi Tung Ronald Tsui\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.52), and Bermuda’s\u00a0Julian Fletcher\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.46) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n Chad Le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa unleashed a winning 49.52 ahead of Japan’s\u00a0Shinri Shioura\u00a0<\/strong>(50.97).<\/p>\n Belarus’\u00a0Ravel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(51.11), USA’s\u00a0Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>(51.25), and Chian’s\u00a0Peng Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(51.40) finished third through fifth. Hong Kong’s\u00a0Chun Nam Derick Ng\u00a0<\/strong>(52.53), Japan’s\u00a0Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>(53.84) and Canada’s\u00a0Nicholaas Dane Dekker\u00a0<\/strong>(54.74) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n With a half second margin of victory, Hosszu claimed her first event of the day in 56.30. Australia’s\u00a0Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 56.82 ahead of Ukraine’s\u00a0Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>(57.92).<\/p>\n American teammates\u00a0Lucie Nordmann\u00a0<\/strong>(58.13) and\u00a0Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(58.34)\u00a0touched just before Canadian duo\u00a0Danielle Hanus\u00a0<\/strong>(58.79) and\u00a0Hilary Caldwell\u00a0<\/strong>(59.43). China’s\u00a0Yixin Wu\u00a0<\/strong>(59.46) finished eighth.<\/p>\n With a 23.02\u00a0Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>of Belarus won the 50 backstroke. Spain’s\u00a0Miguel Ortiz-Canavate\u00a0<\/strong>(23.54) was second. Australian\u00a0Mitch Larkin\u00a0<\/strong>and Russian\u00a0Stanislav Donetc\u00a0<\/strong>tied for third in 23.71.<\/p>\n Hong Kong’s\u00a0Lai Yeung Chung\u00a0<\/strong>(25.23),\u00a0Kai Hong Henry Ng\u00a0<\/strong>(25.52), and\u00a0Cheuk Hei Matthew Chung\u00a0<\/strong>(25.71) were fifth, seventh, and eighth. American\u00a0Clark Beach\u00a0<\/strong>(25.45) finished sixth.<\/p>\n Hosszu posted a 2:06.09 to win another event, ahead of fellow Hungarian\u00a0Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:07.51. They were also joined in the top eight by Hungary’s\u00a0Evelin Verraszto\u00a0<\/strong>(2:12.30) in fifth.<\/p>\n Canada’s\u00a0Katerine Savard\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.82) and Hong Kong’s\u00a0Kin Lok Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.64) finished third and fourth.<\/p>\n Wrapping up the final were\u00a0Tsz Ching\u00a0<\/strong>Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(2:14.84),\u00a0Camille Wishaupt\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.82) and\u00a0Long Yan Esther To\u00a0<\/strong>(2:20.73).<\/p>\n It was a tight battle for podium spots tonight. Japan’s\u00a0Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first in 1:53.09. American\u00a0Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:53.63 and Germany’s\u00a0Philip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 1:53.95.<\/p>\n USA’s\u00a0Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.87), Hungary’s\u00a0Peter Bernek\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.93), and Japan’s\u00a0Ippei Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.99) also cleared two minutes.<\/p>\n Austria’s\u00a0Sebastian Steffan\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.46) and the USA’s\u00a0Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.84) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n While American high school senior\u00a0Sierra Schmidt\u00a0<\/strong>led prelims, Hosszu got her hand to the wall first with a 4:05.31. Schmidt posted a 4:06.76 and China’s\u00a0Junjun Guo\u00a0<\/strong>took bronze in 4:08.35.<\/p>\n New Zealand’s\u00a0Emma Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>(4:13.02) and Hong Kong’s\u00a0Tsoi Lam Katii Tang\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.71) finished fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n Canadian\u00a0Olivia Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>(4:14.84), China’s\u00a0Jiayi Lyu\u00a0<\/strong>(4:15.83) and USA’s\u00a0Joy Field\u00a0<\/strong>(4:17.72) also swam in tonight’s final.<\/p>\n Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to the top of the podium. The Russian stopped the clock in 21.16. the whole heat was spread by less than a second. Britain’s\u00a0Benjamin Proud\u00a0<\/strong>(21.33) and Le Clos (21.45) also took home prize money.<\/p>\n Finland’s\u00a0Ari-Pekka Liukkonen\u00a0<\/strong>(21.57) was .02 faster than South Africa’s\u00a0Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>(21.59) and .05 quicker than American\u00a0Anthony Ervin\u00a0<\/strong>(21.62).<\/p>\n New Zealand’s\u00a0Daniel Hunter\u00a0<\/strong>(21.73) and USA’s\u00a0Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(22.03) finished seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first (2:16.49) ahead of four Americans.\u00a0Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:17.99),\u00a0Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:21.85),<\/strong>\u00a0Zoe Bartel\u00a0<\/strong>(2:24.87), and Brooke Forde\u00a0<\/strong>(2:25.54)\u00a0finished second through fifth.<\/p>\n Wrapping up the event was\u00a0Rainbow IP\u00a0<\/strong>(2:34.33),\u00a0Dana Ann Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.27), and\u00a0Gabriella Jia Yun Wei\u00a0<\/strong>(2:38.30).<\/p>\n Hosszu (58.21) led Atkinson (58.76) and Seebohm (59.11) under a minute in the 100 IM.<\/p>\n Kanako Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan (1:00.20) and Finland’s\u00a0Hanna-Maria Seppala\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.63) touched fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n Austria’s\u00a0Lisa Zaiser\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.03) was just faster than Canadians\u00a0Danielle Hanus\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.21) and\u00a0Sarah Darcel\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.50).<\/p>\n Larkin unleashed a 1:50.33 for the win in the final backstroke event. Pinzon Garcia registered a 1:53.19 and Bernek posted a 1:54.07. Finishing fourth was Beach (1:55.89), one place higher than fellow American\u00a0Austin Katz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.34).<\/p>\n France’s\u00a0Mexence Orange\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.55), Hong Kong’s\u00a0Yau Ming Cheung\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.77) and American\u00a0Sean Grieshop\u00a0<\/strong>(2:04.71) also raced again tonight.<\/p>\n Ottesen blasted a 25.65 ahead of Seebohm (26.01) who edged Atkinson (26.08). Canadians Savard and\u00a0Michelle Williams\u00a0<\/strong>(26.52) were fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Xintong Lin\u00a0<\/strong>(26.61), Hong Kong’s\u00a0Hang Yu Sze\u00a0<\/strong>(26.66) and USA’s\u00a0Eva Merrell\u00a0<\/strong>(26.77) all finished in close succession.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s\u00a0Mykhallo Romanchuk\u00a0<\/strong>(14:18.53) and Hungary’s\u00a0Gergely Gyurta\u00a0<\/strong>(14:43.61) both finished under 15 minutes.<\/p>\n The next four finishers: American\u00a0Andrew Abruzzo\u00a0<\/strong>(15:04.42), Taipei’s\u00a0Che-Tu Hsu\u00a0<\/strong>(15:52.25), Hong Kong’s\u00a0Xian Hao Jonathan Liao\u00a0<\/strong>(15:52.67) and\u00a0Chak Hang Lam\u00a0<\/strong>(15:53.47) were faster than 16 minutes.<\/p>\n Ming Hong Wong\u00a0<\/strong>(16:02.94) and\u00a0Ming Hong Cheuk\u00a0<\/strong>(16:13.30) finished seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n Hosszu finished the World Cup in winning fashion with a 4:28.50.
