New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Hunter\u00a0<\/strong>then out touched Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pieter Timmers\u00a0<\/strong>47.30 to 47.32 for second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kenneth King Him To\u00a0<\/strong>(47.88) was another half second back. Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>(48.22), Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kin Tat Kent Cheung\u00a0<\/strong>(49.11), Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sebastian Steffan\u00a0<\/strong>(49.93) and Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Eu Jin Tan\u00a0<\/strong>(51.43) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>entered familiar territory atop the podium, after posting a 1:53.98. Fellow Hungarian\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jalabos\u00a0<\/strong>tied with Australian\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:55.17<\/p>\n<p>With a 1:57.11\u00a0China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yue Wu\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth. Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daria Ustinova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.07), Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Evelin Verraszto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.65) and American\u00a0<strong>Sierra Schmidy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.85) also cleared two minutes. <strong>Jie Dong\u00a0<\/strong>of China wrapped up the heat in 2:00.1.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>Brazilian\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in a 26.32.\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 26.55 to take second for Russia. In third was South African\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>with a 26.73. American\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 26.84 for fourth and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yashuri Koseki\u00a0<\/strong>(26.96) \u00a0was also under 27 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Finland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ari-Pekka Liujjonen\u00a0<\/strong>(27.33), Taipei&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chun-Feng Wu\u00a0<\/strong>(27.37), and Syria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Azad Al Barazi\u00a0<\/strong>(27.47) were fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>The consistent trio of World Cup 100 breaststrokers was back again today.\u00a0<strong>Alia Atikinson\u00a0<\/strong>put togethere a dominant performance, clocking a 1:02.68. A second behind the Jamaican was Russian was\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.64) and an additional half second behind was American\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.15). Also in the red, white, and blue was\u00a0<strong>Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.24O in fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Iceland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hrafnildur Lithersdottir\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.62) finished fifth.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zoe Elizabeth Bartel\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.57), Canadian\u00a0<strong>Rachel Nicol\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.77) and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kanako Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.55) touched sixth, seventh, and eighth,<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>impressed in the 100 butterfly. The American came into the wall in 55.49, over a half second before\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>(56.20). Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Orresen\u00a0<\/strong>(56.25) finished third.<\/p>\n<p>In her second swim of the night,\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>placed fourth in 57.91.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kin Lok Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(58.07) and\u00a0<strong>Hang Yu Sze\u00a0<\/strong>(58.70) were fifth and eighth. Between the duo were Canadian\u00a0<strong>Katerina Savard\u00a0<\/strong>(58.09) and American\u00a0<strong>Eva Merrell\u00a0<\/strong>(58.18).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donetc\u00a0<\/strong>was just faster than Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mitch Larkin\u00a0<\/strong>as the two touched in 50.46 and 50.58. Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(50.96) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 51.69. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Peng Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(52.62), Columbia&#8217;s <strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(52.94), France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maxence Orange\u00a0<\/strong>(53.23), and American\u00a0<strong>Clark Gregory Beach\u00a0<\/strong>(54.43)\u00a0also swam in the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p>Hosszu sprinted to gold in 26.40, faster than Australian\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>in 26.68. Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>(27.08) earned bronze.<\/p>\n<p>American duo\u00a0<strong>Lucie Nordmann\u00a0<\/strong>(27.21) and\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>(27.29) were fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Canda&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Danielle Hangus\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth in 27.46, ahead of Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Toto Kwan To Wong\u00a0<\/strong>(27.78) and\u00a0<strong>Yin Yang Claudia Lau\u00a0<\/strong>(27.95).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>ran away with the 200 butterfly. The South African touched in 1:49.95. Nearly three seconds behind was\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.38). Another two seconds behind him was Japanese teammate\u00a0<strong>Masato Sakai\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.95).<\/p>\n<p>Taipei&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yi-Lin Tsai\u00a0<\/strong>(1:57.98) and American\u00a0<strong>Alex Wang Liang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.39) also cleared two minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicolaas Dane Dekker\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.37) was sixth and Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chun Leung Johnny Lau\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.33) and\u00a0<strong>Tin Long Ho\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.63) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Hosszu dominated another event, this time with a 2:05.39, faster than Efimova&#8217;s 2:07.07 or her own teammate\u00a0Jakobos&#8217; 2:07.86.<\/p>\n<p>American\u00a0<strong>Brooke Forde\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 2:09.05 for fourth.\u00a0Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lisa Zaiser\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.86) finished ahead of Canadians\u00a0<strong>Sarah Darcel\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Danielle Hanus\u00a0<\/strong>who tied for sixth in 2:12.69. The USA&#8217;s <strong>Zoe Elizabeth Bartel<\/strong> was eighth (2:14.67).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>It was a tight battle in the 400 free as\u00a0Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mykhallo Romanchuk\u00a0<\/strong>and Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Peter Bernek\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 3:40.18 and 3:40.45. Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 3:42.89.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Poul Zellmann\u00a0<\/strong>(3:45.30) and American\u00a0<strong>Andrew Joseph Abruzzo\u00a0<\/strong>(3:49.79) were also under 3:50.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Bagshaw\u00a0<\/strong>(3:50.24), American\u00a0<strong>Clark Gregory Beach\u00a0<\/strong>(3:52.18) and Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xian Hao Jonathan Liao\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.46) touched sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>With a 23.95, Ottesen again landed on the podium. Canadian\u00a0<strong>Michelle Williams\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to a 24.38 and Australian\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 24.54, ahead of American duo\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>(24.58) and\u00a0<strong>Anya Goeders\u00a0<\/strong>(24.70).<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daria Ustinova\u00a0<\/strong>out touched China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xintong Lin\u00a0<\/strong>24.85 to 24.86. Finland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hanna-Maria Seppala\u00a0<\/strong>(25.20) was eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 breaststroke by two seconds with his 2:02.31.\u00a0<strong>Ippel Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan swam a 2:04.41 for second and American\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third in 2:05.45. Watanabe&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Yasuhiro Koseki\u00a0<\/strong>followed in 2:06.33.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.41), USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>BJ Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.57), Syria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Azad Al Barazi\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.55) and Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hin Ho Boris Yang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.94) also swam in tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>finished just .03 shy of his own world record with a 50.33. That time put him well ahead of the field.\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan was a 52.97 for second and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(53.29) was third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitch Larkin\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia (53.33) and\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA (53.52) were fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Columbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(54.94), Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sebastian Steffan\u00a0<\/strong>(55.48), and Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ho Lun Raymond Mak\u00a0<\/strong>(55.56) finished sixth, seventh, and eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p>Hosszu got pushed a bit more for her 200 backstroke gold, as she touched in 2:02.28 with Seebohm on her toes in 2:02.91. Zevina registered a 2:03.87 for third. Merrell clocked a 2:05.93 for fourth. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hilary Caldwell\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 2:06.43<\/p>\n<p>Young Americans\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(2:06.46) and\u00a0<strong>Lucie Nordmann\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.51) were sixth and eighth. Between them was\u00a0China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yixin Wu\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:08.30.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p>Le Clos secured 50 butterfly gold in 22.31. Fellow South African\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>(22.79) and Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Proud\u00a0<\/strong>(22.98) were also under the 23 second mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kenneth King Him To\u00a0<\/strong>(23.15) was fourth and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Peng Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(23.21) fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shinri Shioura\u00a0<\/strong>(23.22), Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(23.45) and American\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>(23.85) completed the heat.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 800 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>Hosszu took home 800 free gold in 8:21.09. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jie Dong\u00a0<\/strong>was on her tail in 8:22.54. Prenot was just faster than Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gergely Gyurta\u00a0<\/strong>as the two touched in 4:06.23 and 4:06.98.<\/p>\n<p>German Kock swam a fifth placed 4:10.43.
