MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota, November 15. THE final night of short course yard swimming at the USA Swimming Grand Prix held in Minneapolis featured three meet records including one of the individual variety.<\/p>\n
Mission Viejo's Chloe Sutton edged her meet record in the women's 1650-yard free by the slimmest of margins with a 16:07.15. That time beat her 2008 mark of 16:07.16. Mission Aurora's Bonnie Brandon, 15, took second in 16:15.96, while The Fish's Kate Ziegler took third in 16:19.12 from an earlier heat.<\/p>\n
Longhorn's Michael Klueh won the men's 1650-yard free in 15:01.25. Minnesota's Michael McBroom finished second in 15:26.08, while Michigan's Adam DeJong took third in 15:26.84.<\/p>\n
Gator's Stephanie Proud held off Brandon in the women's 200 back, 1:57.06 to 1:57.13, for the win. Minnesota's Hannah Whitehead wound up third in 2:00.94. Daytona Beach's Rex Tullius followed with a 1:48.01 to win the men's 200 back. Michigan's Andre Schultz took second in 1:48.29, while Patrick Schirk placed third in 1:49.02.<\/p>\n
Swim Florida's Erika Erndl overtook Minnesota's Alison Eggers, 50.49 to 50.55, in the women's 100 free. Manta's Chantal Vanlandeghem, 15, completed the top three in 50.75. California's William Copeland captured the men's 100 free title in 43.60. Minnesota's Curt Carlson touched second in 44.04 with Tucson Ford's Simon Burnett finishing third in 44.18. <\/p>\n
Washington State's Michaela Ahlin cruised to victory in the women's 200 fly with a 1:58.04. Minnesota's Molly Belk finished second in 2:01.50, while Mount Hood's Jennifer Stratton snagged third in 2:02.60. Michigan's Dan Madwed easily grabbed the men's 200 fly title in 1:46.44. Minnesota's Kevin Baseheart finished second in 1:49.34, while teammate Alex Wold touched third in 1:49.69.<\/p>\n
In the mixed multi-disability 100 free, Anna Eames (57.97), Blake Adams (59.56), Alex Dionne (1:05.88), Mallory Weggemann (1:06.78) and Krista Pyllkki (1:35.22) posted times. <\/p>\n
In relays, Washington State's Talor Whitaker, Rugile Mileisyte, Emma Neely and Michael Ahlin won the women's 400 free relay in 3:23.55. That effort wiped out Minnesota's meet record of 3:25.51 set in 2008. Michigan's Dan Madwed, Chris Brady, Neal Kennedy and Evan Ryser claimed the men's 400 free relay in 2:58.24.
