Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Free:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jeanette Ottesen<\/strong> of Denmark delivered the top time in finals of the women&#8217;s 100 free, stopping the clock at a 51.94.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a final time of 52.25, followed by\u00a0<strong>Rikako Ikee<\/strong> and her time of 52.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aliaksandra Herasimenia<\/strong> of Belarus grabbed fourth with a time of 53.29, while the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 53.33.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carla Buchanan<\/strong> (53.37), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michelle Williams<\/strong> (53.43), and\u00a0<strong>Yui Yamane\u00a0<\/strong>(53.48) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Free:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia successfully defended his title in the men&#8217;s 200 free with a final time of 1:42.42, flirting with the possibility of taking down the existing World Junior record of 1:41.95.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yuuki Kobori<\/strong> touched second with a final time of 1:43.23, followed by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 1:44.11.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Clyde Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth overall with a final 1:44.37, just ahead of Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pieter Timmers<\/strong>&#8216; 1:44.45.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.63),\u00a0<strong>Tsubasa Amai\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.95), and\u00a0<strong>Katsuhiro Matsumoto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.82) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Breast:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> of Jamaica scorched the competition in finals of the women&#8217;s 50 breaststroke with a final time of 28.64. Atkinson&#8217;s time erases\u00a0<strong>Jessica Hardy&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>World Record of 28.80 from 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>posted a second place finish of 29.19, followed by the American duo of\u00a0<strong>Molly Hannis<\/strong> (29.57) and\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(30.27).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miho Teramura\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed fifth with a 30.28, while Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rachel Nicol\u00a0<\/strong>took sixth with a 30.75.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rie Kanetou\u00a0<\/strong>finished seventh with a 30.94, with\u00a0<strong>Misaki Sekiguchi\u00a0<\/strong>picking up eighth with a 31.01.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast:<\/h3>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>battled for the title in finals of the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke, touching a slim .03 seconds apart. Lima led at the 50-meter mark turning with a 26.56 over Morozov&#8217;s 26.69, but a strong second 50-meters from Morozov led to a gold medal finish.<\/p>\n<p>Morozov touched the wall first with a 56.80 over Lima&#8217;s 56.83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoshiki Yamanaka<\/strong> completed the podium with a third-place finish of 57.65, followed closely by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ippei Watanabe\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 57.81.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth place was picked up by\u00a0<strong>Kabuki Kohinata<\/strong> (58.18), while\u00a0<strong>Yuusuke Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth with a time of 58.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kazuki Hayashi\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Hayato Watanabe<\/strong> posted seventh and eighth place finishes of 58.62 and 58.67 respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa delivered the fastest time of the men&#8217;s 100 fly finals, posting a 49.45 to earn his first gold medal of the session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Takeshi Kawamoto\u00a0<\/strong>picked up silver with a 49.93 to be the only other athlete under the 50-second mark, while Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 50.78 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a close 50.80 for fourth, followed by\u00a0Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tommaso D&#8217;Orsogna\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 51.09.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kouhei Kawamoto\u00a0<\/strong>(51.12), Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Morgan<\/strong> (51.24), and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Masato Sakai\u00a0<\/strong>(51.63) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary nabbed her first gold medal of the session with a top showing in the women&#8217;s 100 back with a 55.59 finish.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>delivered a second place finish of 56.59, just ahead of Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina<\/strong> and her time of 56.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emi Moronuki<\/strong> grabbed fourth with a 57.20, followed by\u00a0<strong>Sayaka Akase&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>57.28.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miyuki Takemura<\/strong> (57.52),\u00a0<strong>Masumi Takaba<\/strong> (58.65), and\u00a0<strong>Regan Elisabeth Smith<\/strong> (58.68) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Junya Koga<\/strong> maintained his spot atop the leaderboard in finals of the men&#8217;s 50 back with a 23.17 finish.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>touched a close second with a 23.22, while Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel\u00a0<\/strong><b>Ortiz-Canavate<\/b> grabbed the bronze with a 23.42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitch Larkin\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia picked up a fourth place finish of 23.47, followed closely by Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donetc<\/strong> and his time of 23.49.<\/p>\n<p>Romania&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Glinta<\/strong> (23.74),\u00a0<strong>Junki Yasuda<\/strong> (24.14), and\u00a0<strong>Yumma Edo<\/strong> (24.33) posted sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p>Not long after winning the women&#8217;s 100 back\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>was back in the water and powered to a second gold medal in the women&#8217;s 200 fly with a 2:03.92 finish.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> delivered a second place finish of 2:04.65, while Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> took third overall with a 2:06.54.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miyu Nakano\u00a0<\/strong>posted a fourth place finish of 2:07.35, followed by\u00a0<strong>Suzuka Hasegawa&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2:07.57.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katerine Savard\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.06),\u00a0<strong>Yai Watanabe<\/strong> (2:09.54), and\u00a0<strong>Nao Kobayashi\u00a0<\/strong>(2:10.71) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM:<\/h3>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>posted the top time in finals of the men&#8217;s 200 IM with a 1:52.48 finish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> of Germany touched second with a final time of 1:53.04, just ahead of the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> and his final time of 1:53.85.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth place was picked up by\u00a0<strong>Takeharu Fujimori<\/strong> and his 1:54.05, followed by\u00a0<strong>Keita Sunama&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>1:54.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tetsuya Iwata<\/strong> (1:55.89),\u00a0Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Clyde Lewis<\/strong> (1:56.88), and\u00a0<strong>Juran Mizohata<\/strong> (1:57.76) turned in sixth through eighth place finishes.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free:<\/h3>\n<p>The Hungarian duo of\u00a0<strong>Boglarka Kapas<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>topped the podium of the women&#8217;s 400 free. Kapas posted the only sub-four minute time at a 3:59.15, followed by Hosszu&#8217;s second place finish of 4:01.84.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dong Jie\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a third place finish of 4:02.76, followed by\u00a0<strong>Chihiro Igarashi\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 4:04.13.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Sharon van Rouwendaal\u00a0<\/strong>touched fifth with a 4:04.35, while Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kiah Melverton\u00a0<\/strong>was sixth with a 4:07.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aya Takano<\/strong> and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sierra Schmidt<\/strong> finished seventh and eighth with times of 4:07.83 and 4:09.32 respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Free:<\/h3>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>continued to defend his title in the men&#8217;s 50 free with the only sub-21 second swim of the event. Morozov stopped the clock at a 20.73 for his second gold medal of the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benjamin Proud\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain finished second with a time of 21.25, while South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shinri Shioura<\/strong> tied for third with matching times of 21.42.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anthony Ervin\u00a0<\/strong>posted a fifth place finish of 21.44, followed by\u00a0<strong>Kenta Ito\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 21.48.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junya Koga<\/strong> took seventh with a 21.62 and\u00a0<strong>Kousuke Matsui\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a 21.71.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Breast:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rie Kanetou\u00a0<\/strong>outlasted the competition in finals of the women&#8217;s 200 breaststroke, stopping the clock at a 2:16.75 for the gold.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 2:17.37 for second, followed by the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 2:19.69.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reona Aoki\u00a0<\/strong>touched fourth with a 2:21.08, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Kako Ishida&#8217;s<\/strong> 2:22.18.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Misaki Sekiguchi<\/strong> (2:22.54), the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>(2:23.88), and\u00a0<strong>Shiori Asaba<\/strong> (2:23.89) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 IM:<\/h3>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>led the women&#8217;s 100 IM from start-to-finish, earning her third gold medal of the session with a 57.47.<\/p>\n<p>The young\u00a0<strong>Rikako Ikee<\/strong> posted a second place finish of 58.24, good for a new World Junior Record. Previously the record had been set at a 58.36.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed third overall with a 58.32 showing, followed by Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 58.57.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miho Teramura\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a time of 59.27 for fifth, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Rika Oomoto&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>1:00.67.<\/p>\n<p>The Austrian duo of\u00a0<strong>Lisa Zaiser<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Lena Kreundl\u00a0<\/strong>completed the heat with times of 1:00.73 and 1:01.17 respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Back:<\/h3>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 200 back final was highlighted by a tight race between\u00a0<strong>Masaki Kaneko\u00a0<\/strong>and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong>. Kaneko jumped out to an early lead, but Larkin hung close, slowly trying to close the gap. Kaneko, however, held off the charging Australian with out-touching him 1:49.89 to 1:49.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hayate Matsubara<\/strong> picked up third overall with a time of 1:52.54, followed closely by Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia<\/strong> and his time of 1:52.86.<\/p>\n<p>Romania&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Robert Glinta<\/strong> (1:52.97),\u00a0<strong>Syunya Nishimura<\/strong> (1:54.52),\u00a0<strong>Yuuma Edo<\/strong> (1:55.71), and\u00a0<strong>Meguru Hotta<\/strong> (1:56.75) were fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>collected her second gold medal of the session with a top showing in finals of the women&#8217;s 50 fly. The Danish Olympian stopped the clock at a 25.05 to flirt with a sub-25 second swim.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh off a new World Junior Record in the 100 IM,\u00a0<strong>Rikako Ikee\u00a0<\/strong>picked up second with a 25.73.
