Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Sarah Hadj Abderrahmane\u00a0<\/strong>of Algeria topped the competition in finals of the women’s 200 fly, stopping the clock with a final time of 2:15.76.<\/p>\n The Egyptian duo of\u00a0Mariam Sakr\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Rowaida\u00a0<\/strong>Hesham\u00a0<\/b>posted second and third place finishes of 2:18.88 and 2:20.00.<\/p>\n Rania Hamida Nefsi\u00a0<\/strong>of Algeria took fourth with a 2:25.95, followed by the South African duo of\u00a0Marli Jacobs<\/strong> (2:27.59) and\u00a0Hanim Abrahams<\/strong> (2:32.72).<\/p>\n Angola’s\u00a0Ana Nobrega<\/strong> and\u00a0Raquel Tremoco\u00a0<\/strong>completed the heat with times of 2:34.97 and 2:43.68.<\/p>\n Algeria’s\u00a0Oussama Sahnoune\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the top time in the men’s 50 free final, posting a final 22.39.<\/p>\n Douglas Erasmus\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa finished close behind with a 22.55 to be the only other athlete under the 23-second mark.<\/p>\n Egypt’s\u00a0Mohamed Samy<\/strong> completed the podium with a time of 23.08.<\/p>\n Abdul Khadre Mbaya Niane<\/strong> of Senegal touched fourth with a time of 23.44, followed closely by Namibia’s\u00a0Alexander Skinner<\/strong> (23.58) and Egypt’s\u00a0Ihab Salem\u00a0<\/strong>(23.59).<\/p>\n Alaric Basson\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa finished seventh with a 24.08, while Zambia’s\u00a0Ralph Goveia\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a 24.86.<\/p>\n Marielle Venter<\/strong> of South Africa posted the top time in a smaller heat of the women’s 200 back, delivering a 2:14.33 for first.<\/p>\n Teammate\u00a0Nathania van Niekerk<\/strong> touched second with a 2:15.49, while Seychelles’\u00a0Alexus Laird\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 2:22.67.<\/p>\n Ingy Abouzaid\u00a0<\/strong>of Egypt took fourth with a 2:26.35, followed by Namibia’s\u00a0Antonia Roth\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 2:34.04.<\/p>\n Mozambique’s\u00a0Layla Suneira Taquidir<\/strong> was labeled as a no-show for the event.<\/p>\n South Africa delivered the top two times in finals of the men’s 200 IM.\u00a0Jarryd Baxter<\/strong> led the charge with a final time of 2:04.68, followed by teammate\u00a0Neil Fair<\/strong> and his time of 2:05.37.<\/p>\n Mohamed Samy\u00a0<\/strong>of Egypt finished third overall with a 2:08.22.<\/p>\n Algeria’s\u00a0Ramzi Chouchar<\/strong> posted a fourth place finish of 2:10.70, while Morocco’s\u00a0Said Saber<\/strong> was fifth with a 2:14.09.<\/p>\n Sudan’s\u00a0Rami Elias<\/strong> (2:23.42), Angola’s\u00a0Daniel Francisco\u00a0<\/strong>(2:30.62), and Mauritius’\u00a0Oliver Ah Ching\u00a0<\/strong>(2:30.70) completed the heat.<\/p>\n The women’s 1500 free was the shortest heat of the day, featuring four swimmers in total.
