BARRY Young, 70, was a busy man this weekend at the New Zealand Masters North Island Short Course Swimming Championships.  By the end of the meet, Young had six FINA World Masters records added to his resume in the 70-74 age division.<\/p>\n<p>He started off with a 5:48.67 in the men&#39;s 400 IM to crush Burwell &quot;Bumpy&quot; Jones&#39; standard of 6:21.46.  Young later clocked a 1:23.63 in the men&#39;s 100 breast to beat Hans Reichelt&#39;s record of 1:23.70.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Young posted a 2:51.32 in the men&#39;s 200 fly to shoot down the 3:08.60 recorded by Takashi Hayashi. Young also touched in 3:01.22 in the men&#39;s 200 breast to beat the 3:05.27 previously set by Reichelt.<\/p>\n<p>Young finished the meet with a 2:40.17 in the men&#39;s 200 back to lower the 2:51.24 set by Jones, as well as clocked a 1:15.54 in the men&#39;s 100 IM to erase the 1:15.92 set by Ron Johnson.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GISBORNE, New Zealand, November 9.
