Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Eben Vorster\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa delivered the top time in finals of the men’s 200 fly, stopping the clock at a 2:01.03.<\/p>\n Vorster was followed to the wall by Egypt’s\u00a0Ahmed Hamdy<\/strong> and Algeria’s\u00a0Lounis Khendriche<\/strong>. Hamdy got his hand to the wall first with a 2:03.27, while Khendriche was third with a 2:03.48.<\/p>\n Alard Basson<\/strong> of South Africa took fourth with a time of 2:04.53, just ahead of Morocco’s\u00a0Nouamane Battahi<\/strong> (2:04.74).<\/p>\n Morocco’s\u00a0Said Saber\u00a0<\/strong>completed the short heat with a final time of 2:05.88.<\/p>\n Rebecca Meder <\/strong>of South Africa\u00a0<\/strong>topped the competition in finals of the women’s 200 IM with a final time of 2:20.37.<\/p>\n Algeria’s\u00a0Rania Hamida Nefsi<\/strong>, Egypt’s\u00a0Rowaida Hesham<\/strong>, and South Africa’s\u00a0Gabi Grobler<\/strong> battled for the remaining spots on the podium, finishing .23 seconds apart. Nefsi got her hand to the wall first, stopping the clock at a 2:22.16. Hesham and Grobler were close behind with times of 2:22.38 and 2:22.39.<\/p>\n Antonia Roth<\/strong> of Namibia placed fifth overall with a time of 2:32.66, followed by Angola’s\u00a0Raquel Tremoco<\/strong> and her time of 2:41.96.<\/p>\n Mauritius’\u00a0Layne Lim Ah Tock\u00a0<\/strong>finished seventh with a time of 2:45.50.<\/p>\n Layla Suneira Taquidir<\/strong> of Mozambique was labeled a “no-show” for the event.<\/p>\n South Africa continued their gold medal performances with a top showing from\u00a0Jacques van Wyk<\/strong>. Van Wyk delivered a 56.50 to earn his first gold of the day.<\/p>\n Mohamed Samy<\/strong> of Egypt turned in a 57.31 for the silver, followed closely by South Africa’s\u00a0Neil de Villiers\u00a0<\/strong>and his final time of 57.43.<\/p>\n Morocco’s\u00a0Driss Lahrichi\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 58.09 for fourth, while teammate\u00a0Adil Assouab\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 58.98 for fifth.<\/p>\n Namibia’s\u00a0Alexander Skinner<\/strong> (1:01.51), Senegal’s\u00a0Matar Samb<\/strong> (1:04.98), and Sudan’s\u00a0Rami Elias<\/strong> (1:05.17) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n Algeria’s\u00a0Amel Melih<\/strong> dashed to victory in the women’s 50 free, delivering the only sub-27 second swim of the day. Melih stopped the clock at a 26.72 to add another gold medal to her collection.<\/p>\n Rowan El Badry<\/strong> of Egypt got her hand to the wall just ahead of Seychelles’\u00a0Alexus Laird<\/strong> to earn second with a 27.02.
