Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Nathania van Niekerk<\/strong> of South Africa posted the fastest time of the evening in finals of the women’s 100 fly. Van Niekerk delivered a 1:02.61 to scrape 2.34 seconds off her prelims time of 1:04.95.<\/p>\n The Egyptian duo of\u00a0Mariam Sakr\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Rowaida\u00a0<\/strong>Hesham<\/b> completed the podium with close times of 1:03.11 and 1:03.23 respectively.<\/p>\n Algeria’s\u00a0Sarah Hadj Abderrahmane\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 1:03.85 for fourth, followed by Angola’s\u00a0Ana Nobrega<\/strong> and her time of 1:07.04.<\/p>\n Namibia’s\u00a0Kiara Schatz<\/strong> (1:07.62), Mauritius’\u00a0Annah Auckburaullee<\/strong> (1:09.25), and Angola’s\u00a0Raquel Tremoco<\/strong> (1:13.21) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n South Africa’s\u00a0Myles Brown\u00a0<\/strong>topped the competition in finals of the men’s 400 free, posting a time of 3:54.80 for the gold.<\/p>\n Picking up second was Egypt’s\u00a0Marwan Elamrawy<\/strong> with a time of 3:56.45, while Algeria’s\u00a0Lounis Khendriche<\/strong> rounded out the podium with a 4:02.15.<\/p>\n Mozambique’s\u00a0Igor Mogne<\/strong> posted a 4:04.55 to earn fourth, followed by Morocco’s\u00a0Said Saber<\/strong> and his time of 4:10.27.<\/p>\n Namibia’s\u00a0Phillip Seidler<\/strong> (4:11.11), Morocco’s\u00a0Adil Assouab<\/strong> (4:17.84), and South Africa’s\u00a0Edward Johannisen<\/strong> (4:29.59) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n Kaylene Corbett<\/strong> of South Africa posted the fastest time in finals of the women’s 100 breaststroke, stopping the clock at a 1:11.81, scraping 1.05 seconds off her prelims time of 1:12.86.<\/p>\n Fellow South African\u00a0Hanim Abrahams<\/strong> took second with a final time of 1:12.35, just ahead of Egypt’s\u00a0Mai Atef<\/strong> and her time of 1:12.49.<\/p>\n Rania Hamida Nefsi\u00a0<\/strong>of Algeria took fourth overall with a 1:15.00, while Namibia’s\u00a0Antonia Roth\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth with a 1:19.64.<\/p>\n Angola’s\u00a0Maria Cipcic<\/strong> (1:23.82) and Mozambique’s\u00a0Gisela Cossa<\/strong> (1:26.89) and\u00a0Sumeia Remane Damao<\/strong> (1:35.94) completed the heat.<\/p>\n South Africa delivered a 1-2 punch in finals of the men’s 200 breaststroke.\u00a0Ayrton Sweeney<\/strong> led the charge with a winning time of 2:16.96, while teammate\u00a0Alaric Basson\u00a0<\/strong>picked up second with a 2:20.82.<\/p>\n Egypt’s\u00a0Hassan Yasser<\/strong> turned in a time of 2:21.17 for third.<\/p>\n Ramzi Chouchar<\/strong> of Algeria posted a 2:28.66 for fourth, followed by Morocco’s\u00a0Ahmed Reda\u00a0Ennui’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:29.18.<\/p>\n Mauritius’\u00a0Oliver Ah Ching\u00a0<\/strong>and Botswana’s\u00a0Ayaan Chand<\/strong> finished sixth and seventh respectively with times of 2:39.73 and 2:57.43.<\/p>\n The women’s 800 free featured a shorter heat of just four\u00a0swimmers led by Algeria’s\u00a0Souad Nefissa Cherouati<\/strong>.
