Scott is a six-time Ironman World Champion and the first triathlete ever inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Scott\u2019s remarkable run of Ironman World Championships through the 1980s earned him international fame in the sport. He is known by the nickname \u201cThe Man\u201d for his intense training regimens and is widely considered the progenitor that changed the Ironman from a test of endurance into a race.\u00a0<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Scott competed in Ironman World Championships from 1980 until 2001, when he finished his remarkable athletic career at the age of 47.
