Hailing from Doylestown, Pa, Szekely will stay in state for her next four years of college swimming. I can do that at Penn State while swimming and have the best of both worlds!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Szekely has improved rapidly over the past view years, so the Nittany Lions should be excited for her potential. She provides depth in her swimming as a distance freestyler and mid-distance butterflier and backstroker. Her fastest times to date are:<\/p>\n<p>(<em>All times are in Short Course Yards)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>200 Freestyle 1:50.57<\/p>\n<p>500 Freestyle 4:56.05<\/p>\n<p>200 Backstroke 2:03.67<\/p>\n<p>200 Butterfly 2:08.77<\/p>\n<p>400 IM 4:28.95<\/p>\n<p>Last year in the 2016 Pennsylvania AA High School State Championship Szekely helped the Gwynedd Mercy team finish in second place. Individually, she finished in second\u00a0in the 200 and 500 freestyle. She teamed up with sister, <strong>Allie Szekely<\/strong> (Stanford University \u201920), <strong>Annie O\u2019Dare<\/strong>, and <strong>Hannah Blaser<\/strong> (Penn State University \u201920) to become a state record holder in the 200 Medley Relay (Backstroke) and 400 Freestyle Relay.<\/p>\n<p>She will join former Central Bucks teammate\u2019s <strong>Hannah Blaser<\/strong> and <strong>Hannah Zurmuhl<\/strong> who already swim for Happy Valley in the pool next fall.<\/p>\n<p><em>To report a college commitment email HS@swimmingworld.com.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agon is the proud sponsor of all high school coverage (recruiting, results, state championships, etc.) on SwimmingWorld.com.
