The University of Southern California received a verbal commitment from\u00a0Caitlin Tycz<\/strong>. Tcyz is from Brunswick, Maine and swims for Long Reach Swim Club.<\/p>\n

Tycz told\u00a0Swimming World<\/em>,<\/p>\n

“USC has been my dream school for so many years; I am excited and honored to be a Trojan next fall!\u00a0The team, coaches, and academics are the perfect fit for me, and I’m looking forward to representing them. I can’t thank\u00a0my family, coaches, teammates, and friends enough for everything they have done along the way. \u00a0Fight on!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

At YMCA Nationals last spring<\/a>, while representing the Bath YMCA, Tycz set the YMCA National Record in the 100 butterfly, stopping the clock in 52.43. She then qualified for Olympic Trials in the same event. Tycz led Brunswick High School to the 2016 Maine Girls Class A State Championships<\/a>\u00a0last year. She dominated the 200 IM in a 2:06.23. In a 53.32 she knocked down the 100 butterfly state record and took gold. Tycz also anchored the 200 freestyle relay and the new state record setting 400 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n
