The sixth stop of the FINA\/HOSA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup concluded yesterday in Chun’an with China winning its first ever gold medal in the series.<\/p>\n

Xin Xin<\/strong>, 20, took first in the women’s 10K race when she posted a final time of 2:05:55.80\u00a0to win China’s first ever gold medal while on her home soil.<\/p>\n

Finishing second was\u00a0Cecilia Biagioli<\/strong> of Argentina with a time of 2:06:37.10, just ahead of Italy’s\u00a0Arianna Bridi<\/strong> (2:06:37.70), who was the winner at the Lac Megantic leg of the series.<\/p>\n

Simone Ruffini<\/strong> of Italy claimed another gold medal on the men’s side, posting a final time of 1:56:01.30. Ruffini has collected medals at three previous stops: silver at Patagones-Viedma, bronze in Abu Dhabi, and gold at Balatonfured.<\/p>\n

Germany’s\u00a0Andreas Waschburger<\/strong> finished second overall with a 1:56:02.90, while Brazil’s\u00a0Allan Do Carmo<\/strong> took third with a final time of 1:56:05.60.<\/p>\n

The FINA\/HOSA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup concludes on the 15th of October with a final stop in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n
