Day two of the Doha stop of the 2016 FINA World Cup Series continued with many swimmers setting themselves up to defend their titles from the Dubai stop of the series.<\/p>\n
Felipe Lima<\/strong> and\u00a0Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> will square off again in finals of the men’s 100 breaststroke. Lima returns as the first place seed with a 1:00.11, while Morozov is second with a 1:00.47.\u00a0Marco Koch<\/strong> sits close behind with a 1:00.54.<\/p>\n Morozov also returns in the 50 free (21.74) where he will look for his sixth consecutive win for the 2016 FINA World Cup Series.\u00a0Bradley Tandy\u00a0<\/strong>returns as the top seed with a 21.67.<\/p>\n Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>will look to defend her crown in finals of the women’s 100 free. Ottesen qualified first with a 53.66, followed by a close qualification of\u00a053.69\u00a0from\u00a0Katinka Hosszu.<\/strong><\/p>\n Additionally, Ottesen claimed a first place seed in the women’s 50 fly with a time of 26.44.<\/p>\n Perhaps a first for Hosszu in the World Cup Series, the Hungarian Olympian will not be returning as the top seed in any of her events for finals. In addition to her second-place seed in the 100 free Hosszu qualified second in both the 100 back (1:01.33) and 100 IM (1:01.36). She also returns as the third-place seed in the 50 fly (26.75).<\/p>\n Daryna Zevina<\/strong> and\u00a0Yulia Efimova<\/strong> will look to add a gold medal each to their collections with the top seeds in the 100 back (59.09) and 100 IM (59.91) respectively.<\/p>\n Belgium’s\u00a0Pieter Timmers<\/strong> and Uzbekistan’s\u00a0Aleksey Tarasenko\u00a0<\/strong>delivered times of 1:48.23 and 1:48.55 to qualify as the first and second place seeds in the men’s 200 free.<\/p>\n Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> leads a strong butterfly contingent into finals of the 100-meter race with a qualifying time of 52.39.
