Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>opened the day with a win in the women&#8217;s 100 free. She led by seven tenths at the halfway point and never looked back, pulling away for a 51.58 triumph. The win was her third of the competition after capturing the 100 fly and 50 free day one.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>, the winner of four gold medals and two silvers Saturday, came in second at 52.63, pulling ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Brittany Elmslie<\/strong> on the way home. Groves ended up third in 52.89 and Elmslie fourth in 52.97.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Natalia Lovtcova<\/strong> finished well back in fifth in 55.16, ahead of France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Camille Gheorghiu\u00a0<\/strong>(55.76), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Chang<\/strong> (56.74), Latvia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabriela Nikitina<\/strong> (56.99), France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Camille Dauba<\/strong> (57.05) and New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lucy Agnew\u00a0<\/strong>(58.72).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>It was a battle of the outside lanes as South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong> overtook Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy<\/strong> for first place with a blazing last 50. Guy had previously pulled ahead of le Clos on the third 50, but the South African had something left in the tank.<\/p>\n<p>Le Clos touched in 1:42.84, and Guy held off another South African,\u00a0<strong>Myles Brown<\/strong>, for second, 1:43.17 to 1:43.20.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Phillip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 1:44.26, and Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pieter Timmers<\/strong> came in next at 1:45.60. Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chueng Kin Tat<\/strong> clocked a sixth-place time of 1:46.73, ahead of Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aleksey Tarasenko\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.81), the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jakob Karl\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.00), Uzbekistan&#8217;s <strong>Khurshidjon Turnusov<\/strong> (1:49.92) and Serbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aleksa Bobar\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.36).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>It was the familiar trio of ladies atop the sprint breaststroke, but this time, <strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>got her hand to the wall first. The Jamaican posted a blistering 28.98, just shy of\u00a0<strong>Jessica Hardy&#8217;s<\/strong> world record of 28.80 from 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Second went to Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>in 29.27, and the USA&#8217;s<strong> Katie Meili<\/strong> had to settle for third in 29.78.<\/p>\n<p>Another American,\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson<\/strong>, came in at 30.33, good for fourth place and just ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tessa Wallace<\/strong> (30.59) and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rie Kaneto<\/strong> (30.81). Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Podmanikova<\/strong> (31.02), the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liz Roberts<\/strong> (32.29) and South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Caroux De Lange\u00a0<\/strong>(33.95) completed the field.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> picked up his first victory of the day. After winning both the 100 free and 100 IM Saturday, he earned a tight win over Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima<\/strong> in the 100 breast, 56.97 to 57.12.<\/p>\n<p>Well back in third was Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong>, who cam in at 58.07, ahead of Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Koch<\/strong> (58.65) and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Li Xiang<\/strong> (58.70).<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s <strong>Giulio Zorzi\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth in 59.71, one one-hundredth ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wang Boyu<\/strong> (59.72). Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladislav Mustafin<\/strong> (1:00.18), Egypt&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marwan El-Kamash<\/strong> (1:00.59) and France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>William Debourges<\/strong> (1:01.52) also made the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>earned another comeback win in the men&#8217;s 100 fly. The two-time Olympic silver medalist and defending World Champion in the event trailed Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> at the halfway point before rallying on the way home.<\/p>\n<p>Le Clos touched in 50.23, well off his world record of 48.44 but just enough to clip Kawamoto&#8217;s 50.44. Sankovich ended up third in 50.98.<\/p>\n<p>Making a rare appearance in sprint fly, the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> took fourth in 51.46. Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ng Chun Nam<\/strong> clocked 51.88 for fifth, and Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Khloptsov<\/strong> was sixth in 52.15.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the final were\u00a0<strong>Artyom Kozlyuk<\/strong> (53.07),\u00a0<strong>Jordan Coelho<\/strong> (53.10),\u00a0<strong>James Guy<\/strong> (53.57) and\u00a0<strong>Justin Kraatz<\/strong> (54.51).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p>It was another win for <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>\u00a0as she continued her domination in one of her Olympic gold medal races. Hosszu won in 56.44, well ahead of Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darya Zevina<\/strong>, who clocked 57.26 after taking down Hosszu in the 200 back Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cheng Haihua<\/strong> was a comfortable third-place finisher in 58.05.<\/p>\n<p>From there, there was a big gap to the rest of the field as Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lau Yin Yan<\/strong> (1:00.29) and France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cammile Gheorghiu<\/strong> (1:01.19) were fourth and fifth, respectively.\u00a0Slovakia&#8217;s<strong> Barbora Tomanova<\/strong> finished just one one-hundredth behind Gheorghui in 1:01.20.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liu Haiyun\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.85), New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lucy Agnew<\/strong> (1:02.97), New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Greta Agnew\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.14) and Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liew Li-Shan<\/strong> (1:04.68) completed the field.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back<\/h3>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> blasted the men&#8217;s 50 back and took the win in 23.05. He was about a quarter-second ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong>, who came in 23.31, and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavante<\/strong> grabbed third in 23.48, just four-one-hundredths ahead of\u00a0Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> (23.52).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justin Kraatz<\/strong> finished fifth in 25.30, and\u00a0<strong>Malcolm Low<\/strong> was next in 26.11. Also competing in the final were\u00a0<strong>Aziz Jaouhar<\/strong> (28.61),\u00a0<strong>Abdeirahman Mohamed<\/strong> (30.33),\u00a0<strong>Marwan Elghobary<\/strong> (30.59) and\u00a0<strong>Sanad Abdulla\u00a0<\/strong>(31.64).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>There were only six women in the 200 fly, but there was no way to split the top two.\u00a0Olympic silver medalist\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> led for almost the entire length of the race, but\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> was charging hard. The two ended up touching at the exact same time, 2:03.34.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakobos<\/strong> grabbed third in 2:07.12, ahead of Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chan Kin Lok\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.78), Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholle Toh<\/strong> (2:13.35) and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Chang<\/strong> (2:17.69).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>held off a charging\u00a0<strong>Phillip Heintz<\/strong> to take first in the 200 IM. Seto came in at 1:52.49, and Germany&#8217;s Heintz had to settle for second in 1:52.81.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot<\/strong> pulled ahead of Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon<\/strong> on the breaststroke leg, and then then exploded on the freestyle leg to finish third in 1:54.65.<\/p>\n<p>Pinzon (1:58.88) then had to hold off Chinese teammates\u00a0<strong>Wang Boyu<\/strong> (1:59.13) and\u00a0<strong>Jiang Tiansheng<\/strong> (1:59.42).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adam Halas<\/strong> (2:00.11),\u00a0<strong>Taki Mrabet<\/strong> (2:04.40),\u00a0<strong>Aleksa Bobar<\/strong> (2:05.35) and\u00a0<strong>Cameron Matthews<\/strong> (2:08.08) also made the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>earned yet another come-from-behind win in the 400 free, taking over the lead with a blistering 58.64 final 100 meters. She touched in 4:03.94, out-pacing China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fang Yi<\/strong>, who settled for second in 4:04.82.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakobos<\/strong> ended up taking third once again in 4:06.50.<\/p>\n<p>China went 4-5 in the race with <strong>Zhang Jiaqi<\/strong> (4:11.35) and\u00a0<strong>Liu Haiyun<\/strong>\u00a0(4:14.55). Also in the field were Slovenia&#8217;s<strong> Spela Bohnic<\/strong> (4:14.58), Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darya Zevina<\/strong> (4:19.88), China&#8217;s<strong> Cheng Haihua\u00a0<\/strong>(4:28.62) and South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bianca Pera\u00a0<\/strong>(4:37.82).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted his way to the top of the podium as he so often does, stopping the clock in 21.05 for gold. Taking second behind the Russian was Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Proud\u00a0<\/strong>in 21.22. South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three in 21.34. Just .01 behind him was Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shinri Shioura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa took fifth and seventh with\u00a0<strong>Bradley Tandy\u00a0<\/strong>(21.48) and\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>(21.62). Between the duo was Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katsumi Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>(21.54). Spain&#8217;s \u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate\u00a0<\/strong>(21.62), Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Khloptsov\u00a0<\/strong>(22.06) and Egypt&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>M. Elkamash\u00a0<\/strong>(22.32) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n<p>In a small five person field, five nations were represented.\u00a0<strong>Rie Kaneto\u00a0<\/strong>won the title for Japan in 2:15.76. Behind her was Russia&#8217;s <strong>Yuliya Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:!6.39.\u00a0American\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>was third (2:19.32).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tessa Wallace\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia (2:25.47) and France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Damille Dauba\u00a0<\/strong>(2:28.94) finished fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>took home another gold medal this World Cup series, stopping the clock in 57.92. Also finishing under a minute was\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA in 59.19. Fellow breaststroker\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:00.51 for third.<\/p>\n<p>Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Podmanikova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.13) finished fourth before Latvia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabriela Nikitina\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.82) finished fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yin Yan Claudia LAu\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.96), South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>CAroux De Lange\u00a0<\/strong>(1:11.75) and Bahrain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alzain Tarew\u00a0<\/strong>(1:23.04) wrapped up the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Bobby Hurley\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:51.70 to win the event. Columbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.56) followed the Australian. Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donetc\u00a0<\/strong>(1:53.93) rounded out the podium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dalya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan finished fourth in 2:00.41 ahead of Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Malcolm Low\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.28).\u00a0<strong>Justin Kraatz\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.99) was sixth while Qatar&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abdulaziz Al-Obaidly\u00a0<\/strong>(2:20.37) and\u00a0<strong>Mesalam Abdulla\u00a0<\/strong>(2:24.73) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>was dominant, clocking a 25.13. Hosszu could only manage a second in this race with her 25.98. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>(26.14) was third.\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>was just shy of the podium in this event, finishing in 26.36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brittany Emlslie\u00a0<\/strong>(26.41) of Australia and American\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>(26.92) also posted 26s.\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine was seventh in 27.12. Taking eighth through tenth were Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Natalia Lovtcova\u00a0<\/strong>(27.37), Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholle Toh\u00a0<\/strong>(27.55) and\u00a0Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kin Lok Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(29.91).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gergely Gyurta<\/strong> of Hungary clocked the fastest time in the finals heat of the men&#8217;s 1500 free with a 14:32.69 finish.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Myles Brown<\/strong> took second overall with a final time of 14:49.64, while Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Poul Zellmann<\/strong> was third with a 14:51.58 finish.<\/p>\n<p>Picking up fourth was Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia<\/strong> and his time of 15:42.41, followed by the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jakub Karl&#8217;s<\/strong> 15:51.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dante Nortje<\/strong> of South Africa finished sixth overall with a 15:56.50.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh went to Qatar&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Abdelrahman Mohamed&#8217;s<\/strong> 17:05.23, while\u00a0<strong>A. Aboughazala<\/strong>, also of Qatar, rounded out the top eight with a 17:09.58.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> claimed her final gold of the Doha stop with a 4:31.18 finish in the women&#8217;s 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p>Picking up second was fellow Hungarian\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> with a time of 4:33.39, while the bronze medal went to Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tessa Wallace<\/strong> and her time of 4:42.18.<\/p>\n<p>Slovenia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Spela Bohinc<\/strong> took fourth with a 4:50.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jiaqi Zhang<\/strong> of China suffered a disqualification.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything you need to follow along live with day two\u00a0finals of the 2016 FINA World Cup Series in Doha.
