Lindenwood, Drury, Truman State, the Missouri University of Science and Technology, William Jewell, and the University of Missouri &#8211; Saint Louis came to compete against host Mizzou and a handful of other Division I and Division III programs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lindenwood came away as the top scoring Division II team of the meet, with their women placing second overall (413 pts) and men placing third overall (339.50). The meet was also the first chance for many of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/glvcsports.com\/news\/2016\/10\/7\/MSWIM_1007161103.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Great Lakes Valley School (GLVS) conference teams<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to compete. Missouri School of Science &amp; Technology finishing highest (5th) among the men\u2019s teams in the conference, while the Truman State women finished highest (6th) against the other GLVS teams at the meet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lindenwood\u2019s<\/span><b> Sergei Golban, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who was the 2016 NCAA champion in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back, came away with an individual win in the 50 freestyle (20.75), besting the rest of the field by more than a quarter of a second. <\/span><b>Golban <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also posted a second place finish in the 100 back (49.89), less than two-tenths behind the winner <\/span><b>Daniel Hein <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from Mizzou, and contributed to Lindenwood\u2019s sixth place 200 medley relay (1:33.63) and fourth place 200 free relay (1:25.17). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Golban <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">led off both relays, recording the second-fastest 50 backstroke of the field (23.11) and the second-fastest flat start 50 (20.99) behind Mizzou\u2019s <\/span><b>Michael Chadwick. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Truman State\u2019s <\/span><b>Nikki Sisson, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who was<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the fourth place finisher at NCAA\u2019s last year, was the top Division II finisher here, grabbing sixth in 53.81.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click here for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com\/mutigers.com\/documents\/2016\/10\/7\/2016_Show_Me_Showdown_Results.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">full meet results<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and here for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/sidearm.sites.s3.amazonaws.com\/lindenwoodlions.com\/documents\/2016\/10\/7\/team_scores_2_.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">complete team scores<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the meet. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the best Division II teams came together for their first competition of the year on Friday, competing at the University of Missouri in the Show Me Showdown.
