For more information about Agon, visit their website <a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p>This fall Florida Gulf Coast University welcomed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/dave-rollins-introduced-as-head-coach-of-florida-gulf-coast-university\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dave Rollins<\/a><\/strong> as new Head Coach after\u00a0<strong>Neal Studd\u00a0<\/strong>filled the vacancy at Florida State.\u00a0<strong>Izzi Clark\u00a0<\/strong>has given Rollins his first verbal commitment for the program.\u00a0Clark is a backstroke specialist at Rockwood Swim Club where she swims for\u00a0<strong>Mary Liston<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Clark&#8217;s best times are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Back 27.10<\/li>\n<li>100\u00a0Back 56.62<\/li>\n<li>200 Back 2:03.97<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clark told\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I chose FGCU because I immediately felt &#8220;at home&#8221; and embraced by the girls on the team and the coaches. The campus and swim facilities are absolutely amazing! I believe that Coach Rollins will continue to grow the success of the program and lead me to my best potential as a swimmer and student\/athlete. #WingsUp&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At Austin Futures this summer, Clark earned a Winter National Cut with her 1:04.55 in the 100 backstroke.\u00a0She also finished fourth in that event at the 2016 Omaha Cup, the test event for the Trials pool.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagles are reigning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2016-coastal-collegiate-sports-association-championships\" target=\"_blank\">Coastal Collegiate Sports Association<\/a> Champions. Clark will fit right into the program. At last year&#8217;s meet she would have slid into the 100 backstroke A final. The event was won by\u00a0freshman<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Elise Haan\u00a0<\/strong>before she transferred to NC State. Her classmate\u00a0<strong>Katie Latham\u00a0<\/strong>was runner up in the event (53.94) and will be leading the charge when Clark gets to campus next fall. Clark also would have been a 200 backstroke A finalist.
