Morozov stopped the clock at a 56.52 to finish ahead of the competition by close to half a second.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 57.01, followed by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> and his time of 57.61.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>of Germany touched fourth with a 58.47, just ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Li Xiang&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>58.52.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wang Boyu<\/strong> (59.61), Egypt&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Y. Elkamash<\/strong> (1:00.79), and Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lawrence Palmer<\/strong> (1:00.93) took sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s king of butterfly, <strong>Chad le Clos,<\/strong>\u00a0maintained his title in finals of the men&#8217;s 100 fly with a final time of 49.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> of Japan claimed second with a time of 50.45, while Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> delivered a final time of 51.02 for third.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth with a time of 51.17, ahead of Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Khloptsov&#8217;s<\/strong> 51.75.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chun Nam Derick NG\u00a0<\/strong>(52.51), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jiang Tiansheng\u00a0<\/strong>(53.36), Serbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ivan Lender<\/strong> (53.79), and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>(55.02) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary and\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>kept a tight race in finals of the women&#8217;s 100 back. Zevina was first to the 50-meter mark out-splitting Hosszu 27.81 to 27.89, but was unable to hold off the final charge from Hosszu. Hosszu touched in a 56.56 over Zevina&#8217;s 56.91.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cheng Haihua<\/strong> posted the only other sub-one-minute swim with a 59.04 finish for third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yin Yan Claudia Lau<\/strong> of Hong Kong turned in a 1:00.39 for fourth, followed by France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Camille Gheorghui&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>1:01.13.<\/p>\n<p>Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Barbora Tomanova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.31), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liu Haiyun\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.82), and\u00a0<strong>Greta Agnew<\/strong> (1:03.17) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back<\/h3>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong> and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> posted final times separated by a slim .02 seconds for the gold and silver medals. Hurley got his hand to the wall first, stopping the clock at a 23.33 over Sankovich&#8217;s 23.35.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate<\/strong> slipped from his first place seed to third with a final time of 23.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> of Russia and\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> of Japan posted close times of 23.50 and 23.52 for fourth and fifth respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia<\/strong> (24.49),\u00a0<strong>Yousef Abdullah<\/strong> (24.80), and\u00a0<strong>Cameron Oliver<\/strong> (25.89) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary clocked a 2:05.62 in finals of the women&#8217;s 200 fly to claim her second gold of the session.<\/p>\n<p>Hungarian teammate\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>posted a second-place finish of 2:06.46, just ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> and her third-place finish of 2:06.77.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kin Lok Chan<\/strong> of Hong Kong took fourth with a 2:09.71, while Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicholle Toh\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 2:14.24.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Chang<\/strong> (2:15.42),\u00a0<strong>Ekaterina Price\u00a0<\/strong>(2:21.28), and Argentina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniela Gonzalez Pinero<\/strong> (2:25.57) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> of Japan maintained his spot atop the leaderboard in finals of the men&#8217;s 200 IM with a final time of 1:52.41, but not without some stiff competition from Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong>. Heintz led throughout the first 150-meters of the race but was unable to hold off Seto in the final 50-meters, settling for second and a time of 1:52.97.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the bronze medal with a time of 1:53.90, while Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia<\/strong> posted the only other sub-two-minute time at a 1:59.19.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wang Boyu<\/strong> (2:00.12), Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Adam Halas\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.39), Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Gerrard\u00a0<\/strong>(2:03.70), and\u00a0<strong>Cameron Matthews<\/strong> (2:08.03) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Fang Yi<\/strong> of China led finals of the women&#8217;s 400 free up until the final 100-meters of the race when a charging\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>pulled ahead. Hosszu touched first with a time of 4:03.14, while Fang settled for second and a 4:03.53.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daryna Zevina<\/strong> of Ukraine slipped from her first-place seed to third with a final time of 4:08.50.<\/p>\n<p>Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Spela Bohinc\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth with a time of 4:13.84, while China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liu Haiyun<\/strong> was fifth with a 4:18.47.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bianca Pera\u00a0<\/strong>(4:42.16),\u00a0<strong>Louise Leijonberg\u00a0<\/strong>(4:50.23), and\u00a0<strong>Jasmin Djaf\u00a0<\/strong>(4:50.75) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>of Russia extended his reign over the men&#8217;s 50 free with a sizzling 20.88 in finals. South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Roland Schoeman\u00a0<\/strong>currently holds the World Cup record at a 20.57, within Morozov&#8217;s sight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>of South Africa finished second with a 21.17, followed by Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Proud<\/strong> and his time of 21.25.<\/p>\n<p>The South African duo of\u00a0<strong>Bradley Tandy<\/strong> and Schoeman finished fourth and fifth with times of 21.35 and 21.52 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Khloptsov<\/strong> and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate<\/strong> delivered matching times of 21.81 to tie for sixth, while eighth went to Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pieter Timmers\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 21.98.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Breast<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rie Kaneto<\/strong>of Japan delivered the top time in finals of the women&#8217;s 200 breaststroke, stopping the clock at a 2:16.30. The 2016 Olympic gold medalist in this event led the race from start to finish, holding off Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova<\/strong> who settled for second and a 2:17.88.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a 2:21.01, while Slovakia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Podmanikova<\/strong> was fourth with a 2:26.68.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Camille Dauba<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Rosin McElligott\u00a0<\/strong>posted times of 2:27.04 and 2:56.24 for fifth and sixth respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary continued to shine in her signature IM, touching first in the 100-meter version with a time of 58.09.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>finished second with a time of 58.55 to be the only other athlete beneath the one-minute mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> of Hungary rounded out the podium with a 1:00.23 finish, while Latvia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabriela Nikitina\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth with a 1:05.14.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh\u00a0off her silver medal in the 200 breaststroke,<strong>\u00a0Yulia Efimova<\/strong> of Russia picked up a fifth place finish of 1:05.88.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Palmans<\/strong> (1:07.28) and\u00a0<strong>Greta Agnew<\/strong> (1:07.43) finished sixth and seventh, while the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili<\/strong> suffered a disqualification.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Back<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong> of Australia battled for first with Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donetc\u00a0<\/strong>in finals of the men&#8217;s 200 back. Hurley surged ahead of Donetc and Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia<\/strong> in the final 50-meters to finish first with a 1:52.53. Donetc settled for second and a 1:53.03, while Garcia slipped to third with a 1:53.39.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> took fourth overall with a 1:54.26, while\u00a0<strong>Cameron Oliver\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 1:58.36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lazar Zlatic<\/strong> (2:01.09), Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Malcolm Low<\/strong> (2:03.35), and Serbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ivan Lender\u00a0<\/strong>(2:06.22) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Fly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>of Denmark collected her second gold medal of the day with a dominating win in the women&#8217;s 50 fly finals. Ottesen stopped the clock at a 25.16, finishing .83 seconds ahead of the competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> of Hungary touched second with a time of 25.99 to be the only other athlete underneath the 26-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the podium wit ha time of 26.14, followed closely by Austrlia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Brittany Elmslie<\/strong> and her time of 26.15.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 26.46, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Amina Kajtaz&#8217;s<\/strong> 26.70.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Natalia Lovtcova<\/strong> of Russia and\u00a0<strong>Nicholle Toh<\/strong> of Singapore were esenth and eighth with times of 26.95 and 27.76 respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500 Free<\/h3>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 1500 free final was highlighted by close racing between South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Myles Brown<\/strong> and Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Poul Zellmann<\/strong> as the two finished a slim .38 seconds apart. Brown touched first with a time of 14:46.49 over Zellmann&#8217;s 14:46.87 for his second gold of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gergely Gyurta\u00a0<\/strong>finished a close third with a time of 14:47.68.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hou Mingda<\/strong> of China took fourth with a time of 15:19.07, while fifth went to Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> (15:41.59).<\/p>\n<p>Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>was sixth with a 15:48.22.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>The Hungarian duo of\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> delivered a 1-2 finish in finals of the women&#8217;s 400 IM. Hosszu soared ahead of the competition, stopping the clock at a 4:33.84 for the gold.
