A half second behind was\u00a0<strong>Menguhi Zhu\u00a0<\/strong>of China in 52.57. Rounding out the podium was\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>(53.07).<\/p>\n<p>A trio of the hone country&#8217;s swimmers followed.\u00a0<strong>Meichen Sun\u00a0<\/strong>(53.33),\u00a0<strong>Duo Shen\u00a0<\/strong>(53.40), and\u00a0<strong>Yi Tang\u00a0<\/strong>(53.66) finished fourth through sixth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Junxuan Yang\u00a0<\/strong>(54.10) and\u00a0<strong>Tingru Han\u00a0<\/strong>(54.30) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Myles Brown\u00a0<\/strong>got his hand to the wall first, winning the event in 1:43.60.\u00a0<strong>Jiwen Cao\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.24) finished second, just ahead of Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pieter Timmers\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:44.53.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bobby Hurley\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.71) of Australia was fourth. Chinese swimmers\u00a0<strong>Keyuan Shang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.17),\u00a0<strong>Zhiyong Qian\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.36),\u00a0<strong>Yongqin Lin\u00a0<\/strong>(1:46.68), and\u00a0<strong>Yuxin Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.42) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>The breaststroke events continue to be deep on the World Cup circuit. Jamaican\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>found her way to the top of the podium at this meet with a 29.15. Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>(29.66) secured silver while American\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>also dipped under 30 (29.92).<\/p>\n<p>Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(30.62) was fourth ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jinglin Shi\u00a0<\/strong>(30.95) and\u00a0<strong>Rie Kaneto\u00a0<\/strong>(31.19) of Japan.\u00a0<strong>Jiaying Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(31.35) and\u00a0<strong>Minjie Sun\u00a0<\/strong>(31.87) finished seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>shot to the top of the podium in 56.33. Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Lima\u00a0<\/strong>secured silver in 56.86.\u00a0<strong>Zibel Yan\u00a0<\/strong>(57.70) of China was third. His teammates\u00a0<strong>Fellian Mao\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Xiang Li\u00a0<\/strong>tied for fourth in 58.33.\u00a0<strong>Zhihao Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>was sixth (58.65). Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>(58.89) and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>(59.06) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chad Le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer under 50 tonight. The South African stopped the clock in 49.35. Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 50.55, just faster then Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(50.64).<\/p>\n<p>Chinese duo\u00a0<strong>Qibin Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(51.43) and\u00a0<strong>Zhuhao Li\u00a0<\/strong>(51.79) finished back to back.\u00a0<strong>Peng Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(52.00) was sixth.\u00a0<strong>Guangyuan Li\u00a0<\/strong>(52.11) and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canvate\u00a0<\/strong>(52.13) wrapped up the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>returned the the podium, this time on top. The Hungarian finished in 56.56. Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>(57.35) and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jie Chen\u00a0<\/strong>(57.61) earned silver and bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Haihua Cheng\u00a0<\/strong>(57.89),\u00a0<strong>Xueer Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(58.20),\u00a0<strong>Hulyl Xu\u00a0<\/strong>(59.78),\u00a0<strong>Chaonan Zhu\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.16), and\u00a0<strong>Lihang Jian\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.56) were fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p>In his second podium finish of the night,\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>struck gold in 23.18. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jiayu Xu\u00a0<\/strong>(23.31) earned silver and\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia (23.39) finished third.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Takeshi Kawamoto\u00a0<\/strong>(23.52) finished ahead of a Russian pair tied for fifth in 23.81:\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donetc\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov.\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate\u00a0<\/strong>(24.00) and\u00a0<strong>Peng Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(24.22) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Siyu Liu\u00a0<\/strong>edged\u00a0<strong>Siqi Wang\u00a0<\/strong>2:05.44 to 2:05.49 to win the event.\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 2:06.68 for third, just faster than\u00a0<strong>Yufei Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:06.74.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.06),\u00a0<strong>Jing Liu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.24),\u00a0<strong>Shijia Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:09.41) and\u00a0<strong>Yan Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.08) were fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shun Wang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:51.63) was the winner, four tenths ahead of\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>of Germany in 1:52.08. American\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>secured third in 1:53.54.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:54.51) and\u00a0<strong>Huanan Ling\u00a0<\/strong>(1:56.74) followed.\u00a0<strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.88),\u00a0<strong>Tiansheng Jiang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.41) and\u00a0<strong>Ren-Hau Wen\u00a0<\/strong>(1:59.46) also swam in tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>claimed a second event today, edging\u00a0<strong>Jie Dong\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Yawen Hou\u00a0<\/strong>for gold. Hosszu posted a 4:01.65 while the Chinese swam times of 4:01.80 and 4:02.06.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bingjie Li\u00a0<\/strong>(4:03.52) and\u00a0<strong>Yi Fang\u00a0<\/strong>(4:04.62) were fourth ad fifth.\u00a0<strong>Yuhan Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(4:05.79),\u00a0<strong>Yanhan Al\u00a0<\/strong>(4:09.16) and\u00a0<strong>Zeying Lv\u00a0<\/strong>(4:10.14) placed sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vlad Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>won his second event of the night in 21.06. Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Proud\u00a0<\/strong>(21.33) followed and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katsumi Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>(21.54) placed third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bradley Tandy\u00a0<\/strong>(21.55),\u00a0<strong>Jianbin He\u00a0<\/strong>(21.82),\u00a0<strong>Miguel Ortiz-Canavate\u00a0<\/strong>(21.88),\u00a0<strong>Shinri Shioura\u00a0<\/strong>(21.91),\u00a0<strong>Xianjian Zhao\u00a0<\/strong>(22.00) also swam in finals.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rie Kaneto\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan won the event in resounding fashion in 2:15.91.\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>secured her second silver in 2:19.46 while American\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:22.67) was third.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese duo\u00a0<strong>Jiangyao Yu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:23.37) and\u00a0<strong>Xinyu Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:24.95) were fourth and fifth.\u00a0<strong>Man-Wen Lio\u00a0<\/strong>(2:28.42),\u00a0<strong>Qinghua Wu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:29.15) and\u00a0<strong>Leiju Zhu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:33.38) also competed in the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>got gold again, with a 58.10.\u00a0<strong>Kate Meili\u00a0<\/strong>(59.50) and\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>(59.60) were also under a minute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sishi Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.96) and\u00a0<strong>Jianqi Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.00) were fourth and fifth.\u00a0<strong>Yi Tang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.56),\u00a0<strong>Tingru Han\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.61) and\u00a0<strong>Kin Lok Chan\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.83) rounded out the heat.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Xu Jiayu<\/strong> improved from silver in the 50 back to gold in the 200 as he led wire-to-wire. The Chinese Olympic silver medalist touched in 1:51.50.\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong> was second in 1:35.16, with\u00a0<strong>Daiya Seto\u00a0<\/strong>rounding out the podium in 1:54.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Omar Pinzon<\/strong> was in second for much of the race but fell off the pace the final 50. He ended up fourth in 1:55.48, ahead of\u00a0<strong>Malcolm Low<\/strong> (2:01.64), <strong>Yu Han\u00a0<\/strong>(2:07.87),\u00a0<strong>Yu\u00a0Pengcheng\u00a0<\/strong> (2:10.80) and\u00a0<strong>Shao\u00a0<strong>Guan Hua <\/strong><\/strong>(2:11.98).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>captured her second victory of the evening with a 25.16 triumph in the 50 fly.\u00a0<strong>Lu Ying<\/strong> was right there in contention but ended up falling to second in 25.33.<strong> Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>earned yet another podium finish in taking third in 25.98.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> finished fourth in 26.32, and\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> came in next at 26.48. Rounding out the final were\u00a0<strong>Yang\u00a0Junxuan\u00a0<\/strong> (26.55),\u00a0<strong>Natalia Lovtcova\u00a0<\/strong>(26.71) and\u00a0<strong>Zhang\u00a0Sishi\u00a0<\/strong>(27.12).<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 1500 Freestyle<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Qiu Zhao\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to a victory in the men&#8217;s mile, clocking in at 14:35.45. South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Myles Brown<\/strong> ended up edging out Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Poul Zellman\u00a0<\/strong>for second, 14:44.88 to 14:45.80.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cho Cheng-Chi\u00a0<\/strong>also got under 15:00 as he finished fourth in 14:57.70.\u00a0<strong>Yang Jintong\u00a0<\/strong>(15:03.12),\u00a0<strong>Huang Guo-Ting<\/strong> (15:12.85),\u00a0<strong>Yang Chen\u00a0<\/strong>(15:41.49) and\u00a0<strong>Zhao Yifan\u00a0<\/strong>(15:43.29) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> picked up her third win of the day when she led a Hungarian 1-2 in her signature event. Hosszu cruised to first and touched in 4:33.60, and\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakobos\u00a0<\/strong>got second in 4:38.13. China&#8217;s Lei Lei came in third at 4:41.91.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese swimmers completed the top eight with\u00a0<strong>Li Bingjie\u00a0<\/strong>(4:42.11),\u00a0<strong>Chen Yejie\u00a0<\/strong>(4:43.28),\u00a0<strong>Wu Yan<\/strong> (4:49.16),\u00a0<strong>Gong Yixin\u00a0<\/strong>(4:57.92) and\u00a0<strong>Liu Yiwen\u00a0<\/strong>(5:10.87).<\/p>\n<h3>Mixed 4&#215;50 Freestyle Relay<\/h3>\n<p>China ended the meet with a big relay win as\u00a0<strong>Lin Yongqing<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Yu Hexin<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Li Huang<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Zhu Menghui<\/strong> combined to clock 1:31.62.
