The annual event now attracts more than 300 swimmers of all ages and abilities from as far away as Australia and Hong Kong. Originally, the Festival started as a one-day event but evolved into five days of swimming including three days of informal swims and two days of competitive swimming (<strong>1.5K, 5K, 10K<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Just for Fun&#8221; 1.5K is not a timed event and swimmers are allowed to use swim aids other choice. The Fun Swim is in aid if <em><strong>&#8220;Variety: The Children&#8217;s Charity&#8221;.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Alex Meyer<\/strong><\/em>, recently retired elite open water swimmer, will return for the third time, he will swim in the 1.5K and the 5K and will offer swim clinics.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Entries close October 31st<\/strong><\/em>, so you still have time, enter online at\u00a0<a style=\"color: #336699; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/raceroster.com\/series\/2016\/6705\/barbados-open-water-swim-festival\" target=\"_blank\">raceroster.com\/series\/2016\/6705\/barbados-open-water-swim-festival<\/a><br \/>\nLocal residents you can enter at Free Style Kidz Store at the Aquatic Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Haven&#8217;t booked airline\/accommodation yet?
