{"id":222699,"date":"2016-09-28T09:17:13","date_gmt":"2016-09-28T16:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=222699"},"modified":"2016-09-28T09:19:57","modified_gmt":"2016-09-28T16:19:57","slug":"ryan-lochte-protesters-charged-after-storming-dwts-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-protesters-charged-after-storming-dwts-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"Ryan Lochte Protesters Charged After Storming &#8220;DWTS&#8221; Stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week the two men who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-protesters-rush-the-stage-during-dancing-with-the-stars\/\" target=\"_blank\">rushed\u00a0the &#8220;Dancing With The Stars&#8221; stage<\/a> during a live taping in protest of Olympic swimmer\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte<\/strong>\u00a0were charged with interfering with the performance along with leaving a spectator area to enter the stage.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted,\u00a0<strong>Barzeen Soroudi<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Sam Sotoodeh<\/strong> could face up to six months in jail and a $1000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>Officer\u00a0<strong>Mike Lopez<\/strong> of the Los Angeles Police Department explained to\u00a0<em>The Los Angeles Times\u00a0<\/em>that the two had &#8220;tickets to be in the audience [for the September 12th taping] and had planned to confront the disgraced Olympian at the ballroom dance show.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lopez continued on, stating, &#8220;the suspects posed as audience members, then changed clothes to display anti-Lochte t-shirts to disrupt the show.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While the incident wasn&#8217;t captured on live television, ABC had later released footage of the event.
