Lauderdale.\u00a0<strong>Mark Szaranek\u00a0<\/strong>was the top performer of the day as he won the men&#8217;s 200 free and played a big role on his team&#8217;s relays.<\/p>\n<p>Many of Florida&#8217;s biggest names were out of the lineup once again Saturday as they continue their return to training after the Olympic Games. That includes reigning 50 and 100 free NCAA champion\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>, who won two gold medals for the U.S. in Rio, along with\u00a0<strong>Mitch D&#8217;Arrigo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jan Switkowski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Gators opened the second day with a win in the 200 medley relay.\u00a0<strong>Emma Ball<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Danielle Keymont<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Alysa Yambor-Maul<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Sherridon Dressel<\/strong> took the win in 1:43.36, just ahead of Florida Gulf Coast&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fanny Teijonsalo<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Evita Leter<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Yee Ching Wong<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Katie Latham<\/strong>, who came in at 1:43.75.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Southeastern touched out Florida to win the men&#8217;s 200 medley relay, 1:32.36 to 1:32.41.\u00a0<strong>Till Barthel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Anton Lobanov<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Thiago Sickert<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Malique Elder\u00a0<\/strong>competed for FGCU, while Florida had\u00a0Szaranek,\u00a0<strong>Chandler Bray<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Kennedy\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Maxime Rooney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Florida freshman\u00a0<strong>Savanna\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Faulconer\u00a0<\/strong>got her first collegiate victory when she posted a 4:19.73 for a comfortable\u00a0win in the women&#8217;s 400 IM. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Andrew Bailey\u00a0<\/strong>touched out Nova Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Aldabe<\/strong> for the win in the men&#8217;s 400 IM, 4:01.19 to 4:01.26, with Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Taylor Delk\u00a0<\/strong>finishing a close third in 4:01.67.<\/p>\n<p>Yambor-Maul won the women&#8217;s 100 fly in 56.26, edging Florida Gulf Coast teammates\u00a0<strong>Christina Kaas Elmgreen\u00a0<\/strong>(56.39) and\u00a0Wong (56.47). Sickert won the men&#8217;s 100 fly in 49.21, and Kennedy was second in 49.96.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Amelia Maughan\u00a0<\/strong>led a tight top four in the women&#8217;s 200 free. Maughan touched in 1:53.04, just ahead of Florida Gulf Coast&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Burdge\u00a0<\/strong> (1:53.08), Miami&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ianire Casarin\u00a0<\/strong> (1:53.25) and FGCU&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Linda Shaw\u00a0<\/strong>(1:53.27). Szaranek then overtook Rooney on the last to win the men&#8217;s 200 free, 1:39.90 to 1:40.07.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Gulf Coast picked up their first win of the day when\u00a0<strong>Evita Leter\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed first place in the women&#8217;s 100 breast, clocking 1:05.16. Lobanov then won the men&#8217;s 100 breast in 56.23, well ahead of Bray (57.37).<\/p>\n<p>Ball took first in the women&#8217;s 100 back in 56.65, and then\u00a0<strong>Tyler Silver\u00a0<\/strong>led a 1-2-3 finish for the Gators in the men&#8217;s event. Silver touched in 51.19, ahead of Szarenek (51.39) and Rooney (51.50).<\/p>\n<p>Florida added wins in both 800 free relays.\u00a0<strong>Niki Urquidi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Autumn Finke<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Georgia Darwent\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Yambor-Maul took first in the women&#8217;s event in 7:36.68 before the men&#8217;s relay won in 6:44.52.\u00a0<strong>Drew Clark<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Andrew Brady<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Grady Heath\u00a0<\/strong>set up Szaranek, who came home in a quick 1:37.91 to secure the win.<\/p>\n<p>Florida extended its lead in the women&#8217;s team race, leading Florida Gulf Coast 765 to 669.
