Coughlin, who swims for Jeffco Hurricanes, is primarily a backstroker.<\/p>\n<p>Coughlin&#8217;s best times:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>100\/200 Backstroke: 56.28\/2:00.18<\/li>\n<li>400 IM: 4:27.51<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly: 2:05.41<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The\u00a0garnet and gold welcomed\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/neal-studd-named-head-coach-at-florida-state\/\" target=\"_blank\">Neal Studd<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>as the new Head Coach this fall. Studd will look to turn around a program that finished ninth at <a href=\"http:\/\/swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2016-acc-womens-championships\" target=\"_blank\">last season&#8217;s ACC Championships<\/a>. Coughlin&#8217;s best scoring opportunity will come in the 200 backstroke, where this year her best time would have finished 28th.\u00a0<strong>Megan Brown\u00a0<\/strong>was the Seminoles&#8217; top finisher last year (1:56.65). She will be a junior when Coughlin starts in Tallahassee next fall.<\/p>\n<p>Joining her in the Class of 2021 is\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/hailey-ladd-verbally-commits-to-florida-state\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hailey Ladd<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>who congratulated her soon-to-be teammate on the commitment. The two should also be a good match for training. Ladd is a very similar backstroker, with bests of 57.39 and 2:00.61.
