MISSING medals returning to their owners is becoming a theme this year.  First, Josh Davis&#39; medals were returned to the U.S. Olympian after being stolen from his car a few days earlier.  Today, word out of Australia by way of the <i>AFP<\/i> has Australian Olympian John Konrads getting his stolen medals back, which were stolen back in 1984.<\/p>\n<p>According to the article, Konrads was approach by a U.S. sports collector who had purchased 16 of Konrads&#39; medals, including the 1500 free gold medal from the Rome Olympics, from an Australian woman.  Konrads reported the information to the police, who then seized the medals and returned them to Konrads.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, the woman had owned the medals for a decade and believed &quot;there were fakes with little or no value.&quot; The medals have since been given to the National Sports Museum in Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>Of note, Konrads previously had received replicas of the original medals from the International Olympic Committee.
