Sigmon, who is primarily a backstroker, is a multiple time YMCA National finalist.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times are (SCY\/LCM)<\/p>\n<p>50 Back: 25.36\/30.01<\/p>\n<p>100 Back: 54.15\/1:03.42<\/p>\n<p>200 Back: 2:01.84\/2:20.88<\/p>\n<p>50 Free: 24.66\/ 28.27<\/p>\n<p>Sigmon\u00a0told\u00a0<em>Swimming World,\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I chose Virginia Tech because it has great academics as well as athletics and I felt a real connection with the team and coaches. I can&#8217;t wait to be a Hokie!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/north-carolina-high-school-state-championships-4a\/\" target=\"_blank\">2016 North Carolina 4A High School Sate Championships<\/a>, she finished fifth in the 100 backstroke (55.60).<\/p>\n<p>The Hokies were fifth at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2016-acc-womens-championships\" target=\"_blank\">2016 ACC Championship<\/a>. Sigmon&#8217;s best time would have placed her 20th in the 100 backstroke at last year&#8217;s meet. Only one VT swimmer was faster\u00a0at February&#8217;s meet. Making finals in the 200 backstroke required breaking two minutes, and with another year before she heads to Blacksburg, Sigmon is not far from scoring points\u00a0in a second event.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today I am super excited to announce my commitment to swim at Virginia Tech!
