USA Swimming unveiled the first class of a new 18 & Under World 100 program Monday with the goal of honoring the 100 high school-age and younger swimmers in the country.<\/p>\n
Those included are the 50 men and 50 women who rank the highest among 18-and-under swimmers worldwide.<\/p>\n
The honor also comes with some practical benefits for the swimmers\u2014as explained in the press release below, the swimmers will be cap-exempt from the Arena Pro Swim Series, guaranteeing their entry into any meet in that series.<\/p>\n
The list includes familiar names such as\u00a0Becca Mann<\/strong>,\u00a0Cassidy Bayer<\/strong>,\u00a0Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alex Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>on the women’s side, while\u00a0Maxime Rooney<\/strong>,\u00a0Michael Andrew<\/strong>,\u00a0Reece Whitley<\/strong> and\u00a0Sean Grieshop<\/strong> highlight the men’s team.<\/p>\n Several members of the team were given shout-outs from U.S. Olympians on Twitter.<\/p>\n Congrats @NCAPswim<\/a> Matt Hirshberger & @Nitroswim<\/a> @cyeager<\/a> for making the @usaswimming<\/a> #World100<\/a> in the 1500 Free.
