The breaststroker is from the state of Kentucky. He swims for the Owensboro Marlins and Owensboro Catholic High School.<\/p>\n<p>Hampel is a breaststroker and IMer. In his best events, his lifetime best times were set just last spring. The high school senior also had an exceptional long course season, highlighted by a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kathleen-golding-and-brooke-rubendall-show-dominance-on-night-two-of-atlanta-futures\/\" target=\"_blank\">Futures Title<\/a> in the 100 breaststroke in August.<\/p>\n<p>Hampel&#8217;s best yards times:<\/p>\n<p>100\/200 Breaststroke: 56.30\/2:03.67<\/p>\n<p>200\/400 IM: 1:53.70\/4:02.92<\/p>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2016-acc-mens-championships\" target=\"_blank\">2016 ACC Championships<\/a>, the Cards left Greensboro as the runner up to the NC State Wolfpack. Hampel&#8217;s times still put him a bit outside scoring range. (It took a 55.63 to score in the 100 breaststroke.)
