That originally planned center will not be built, SwimMAC President\u00a0<strong>Joe Piscitelli\u00a0<\/strong>confirmed to\u00a0<em>Swimming World<\/em> Monday.<\/p>\n<p>An official at the LangTree development\u2014where the aquatics\u00a0center as well as a Doubletree hotel were supposed to be built\u2014<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mooresvilletribune.com\/news\/swimming-complex-sinks-at-langtree\/article_0feaac34-6f14-11e6-b857-934882eec6cc.html\" target=\"_blank\">told the\u00a0<em>Mooresville Tribune<\/em><\/a> that SwimMAC&#8217;s plans changed to due &#8220;organizational changes and financial forecasts,&#8221; but Piscitelli said\u00a0that the club\u00a0was not responsible for the change in direction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;SwimMAC did everything they could to make that work,&#8221; Piscitelli said. &#8220;We did everything that we could do humanly possible to make this happen. We were partners with the hotel and R.L. West, and we were going to build it. Then they said they would build it, and we would be their anchor tenants. We were fine with that. Then it just imploded.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <em>Tribune<\/em>,\u00a0R.L. West&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mark Lockman <\/strong>said,\u00a0&#8220;We still want them (in Mooresville), and we hope we can work that out.&#8221; Piscitelli confirmed that the two sides are currently in discussions on a new piece of property.<\/p>\n<p>The original facility was to include two 50-meter pools as well as seating for up to 1500 spectators.
