Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Free&#8211;S7<\/h3>\n<p>After qualifying third in prelims with a 1:04.51,\u00a0<strong>Pan Shiyun<\/strong> of China dashed to a 1:00.82 to finish first and claim gold in the men&#8217;s 100 free S7.<\/p>\n<p>Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carlos Serrano Zarate\u00a0<\/strong>maintained his spot at second with a final time of 1:01.84, while Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ievgenii Bogodaiko<\/strong> took home bronze with a 1:02.12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew Levy<\/strong> of Australia was fourth overall with a 1:02.28, followed by the British duo of\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Fox\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.91) and\u00a0<strong>Michael Jones\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.69).<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tobias Pollap<\/strong> finished seventh with a 1:04.76 and Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marian Kvasnytsia<\/strong> was eighth with a 1:06.76.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Free&#8211;S7<\/h3>\n<p><strong>McKenzie Coan<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Cortney Jordan<\/strong> delivered a 1-2 finish in finals of the women&#8217;s 100 free S7 to add another gold and silver to Team USA&#8217;s collection. Coan touched first with a final time of 1:09.99, followed by Jordan&#8217;s 1:12.80.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Huang Yajing\u00a0<\/strong>kept close to Jordan finishing a slim .05 seconds behind with a 1:12.85, while\u00a0<strong>Susannah Rodgers<\/strong> of Great Britain was a close fourth with a 1:12.92.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Denise Grahl<\/strong> (1:13.70), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tess Routliffe\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.97), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ke Liting\u00a0<\/strong>(1:16.26), and Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Verena Schott\u00a0<\/strong>(1:18.72) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Back&#8211;S9<\/h3>\n<p>It was a tight race for the gold in finals of the men&#8217;s 100 back S9 with all three podium winners posting times within .37 seconds apart.\u00a0<strong>Tamas Toth<\/strong> of Hungary earned the gold with a final time of 1:04.30, closely followed by China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liu Xiaobing<\/strong> and his time of 1:04.46.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brenden Hall<\/strong> of Australia rounded out the podium with a final time of 1:04.67 to take home the bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Crisp<\/strong> claimed a narrow fourth as Poland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Patryk Biskup<\/strong> finished a slim. 09 seconds behind. Crisp touched with a 1:05.01 over Biskup&#8217;s 1:05.10.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Timothy Hodge<\/strong> (1:05.18), New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jesse Reynolds\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.57), and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Logan Powell\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.13) complete the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Back&#8211;S9<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ellie Cole\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia earned the gold in the women&#8217;s 100 back S9 in Paralympic Record fashion, stopping the clock at a final time of 1:09.18.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nuria Marques Soto<\/strong>, who entered finals after tying with Cole in prelims for the first place seed, slipped to second with a final time of 1:09.57, while\u00a0<strong>Hannah Aspden<\/strong> of the USA took third with a 1:10.67.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wang Jiexin\u00a0<\/strong>of China finished fourth overall with a 1:13.54, ahead of the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Smith<\/strong> (1:14.48).<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Amy Marren\u00a0<\/strong>(1:14.58), New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tupou Neiufi\u00a0<\/strong>(1:14.94), and Ireland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellen Keane\u00a0<\/strong>(1:16.27) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Free&#8211;S8<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Wang Yinan\u00a0<\/strong>of China maintained his spot atop the leaderboard in finals of the men&#8217;s 50 free S8, turning in a final time of 26.24 to improve upon this morning&#8217;s 26.80.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian duo of\u00a0<strong>Bohdan Hrynenko\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Iurii Bozhynskyi<\/strong> claimed second and third with times of 26.67 and 26.75 respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Rozoy\u00a0<\/strong>of France finished fourth overall with a 27.17, followed by close finishes between China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Song Maodang\u00a0<\/strong>and Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josef Craig<\/strong>. Song stopped the clock at a 27.25 over Craig&#8217;s 27.27.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Guanglong<\/strong> was seventh overall with a 27.43, while Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zack Mcallister\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a 27.73.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Free&#8211;S8<\/h3>\n<p>The Australian duo of\u00a0<strong>Maddison Elliot\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Lakeisha Patterson\u00a0<\/strong>topped the podium in finals of the women&#8217;s 50 free S8. While Patterson tied the World Record at a final time of 30.13, Elliot was determined to re-write the record books taking down her own record with a sizzling 29.73.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jiang Shengnan<\/strong> posted a third place finish of 30.53, followed closely by Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Slater&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>30.54.<\/p>\n<p>Despite posting the top time of the morning, Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Millward\u00a0<\/strong>slipped to fifth with a final time of 30.73.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kateryna Istomina\u00a0<\/strong>(31.05), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Morgan Bird\u00a0<\/strong>(31.29), and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jin Xiaoqin\u00a0<\/strong>(32.09) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back&#8211;S4<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Arnost Petracek\u00a0<\/strong>of the Czech Republic\u00a0claimed gold in finals of the men&#8217;s 50 back S4 with a final time of 43.12. Silver went to China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liu Yuntao<\/strong> and his time of 45.01, while Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jesus Hernandez Hernandez\u00a0<\/strong>posted a third place finish of 45.30.<\/p>\n<p>Mexican teammate\u00a0<strong>Juan Reyes\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth with a time of 45.46, followed by the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jan Povysil&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>46.21.<\/p>\n<p>Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gustavo Sanchez Martinez\u00a0<\/strong>(49.41), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ronystony Cordeiro\u00a0<\/strong>(50.84), and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Efrem Morelli\u00a0<\/strong>(52.54) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Back&#8211;S4<\/h3>\n<p>Chinese teammates\u00a0<strong>Cheng Jiao\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Deng Yue\u00a0<\/strong>delivered a 1-2 finish in finals of the women&#8217;s 50 back S4. The two posted times of 48.11 and 50.01 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maryna Verbova\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the bronze with a final time of 52.28.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nely Miranda Herrera\u00a0<\/strong>(53.42) took fourth with a 53.42, while Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arjola Trimi<\/strong> out-touched Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariia Lafina\u00a0<\/strong>54.03 to 54.08.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edenia Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(55.50) and Israel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sonja Sigurdardottir\u00a0<\/strong>(59.97) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 IM&#8211;SM11<\/h3>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Israel Oliver<\/strong> claimed gold in finals of the men&#8217;s 200 IM SM11 with a time of 2:24.11.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing second was Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Viktor Smyrnov\u00a0<\/strong>with a 2:26.57, while third went to China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Bozun<\/strong> (2:27.82).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keiichi Kimura\u00a0<\/strong>of Japan finished fourth with a 2:28.76, ahead of Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Hryhory Zudzilau<\/strong> and his time of 2:30.72.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lou Chenquan<\/strong> (2:32.42), Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oleksandr Mashchenko\u00a0<\/strong>(2:33.76), and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tharon Drake\u00a0<\/strong>(2:35.08) posted sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM&#8211;SM11<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Liesette Bruinsma<\/strong> of The Netherlands outlasted the competition in finals of the women&#8217;s 200 IM SM11 with a final time of 2:49.87.<\/p>\n<p>Second place went to Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maja Reichard\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 2:51.72, followed closely by China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xie Qing&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2:51.98.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maryna Piddubna\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth with a 2:55.31, just ahead of Estonia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Egel\u00a0<\/strong>(2:55.62).<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mary Fisher\u00a0<\/strong>(2:55.71), Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniela Schulte\u00a0<\/strong>(2:59.08), and Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yana Berezhna\u00a0<\/strong>(3:07.58) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Free&#8211;S13<\/h3>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Ihar Boki\u00a0<\/strong>just missed out on taking down his World Record in the men&#8217;s 100 free SM13, stopping the clock shy by .05 seconds with a 50.90.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian duo of\u00a0<strong>Iaroslav Denysenko\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Maksym Veraksa\u00a0<\/strong>claimed silver and bronze with times of 52.40 and 52.77 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Ukrainian teammate\u00a0<strong>Sergii Klippert<\/strong> took fourth overall with a 53.64, followed by Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carlos Farrenberg&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>53.81.<\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Muzaffar Tursunkhujaev<\/strong> (53.90), Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Braedan Jason\u00a0<\/strong>(54.04), and Azerbaijan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dzmitry Salei\u00a0<\/strong>(54.73) finished sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Free&#8211;S13<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Anna Stetsenko<\/strong> of Ukraine claimed gold in the women&#8217;s 100 free S13 with a final time of 59.19, just ahead of the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Meyers\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 59.77.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Russell<\/strong> posted a third place finish of 1:00.07, just ahead of the Uzbekistan duo of <strong>Shokhsanamkhon Toshpulatova<\/strong> (1:00.41) and\u00a0<strong>Fotimakhon Amilova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.26).<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Naomi Maike Schnittger\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.57) and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alessia Berra\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.16) were sixth and seventh respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Muslima Odilova<\/strong> of Uzbekistan was disqualified.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Back&#8211;S5<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Danial Dias<\/strong> of Brazil delivered a gold medal performance to his home crowd when he touched first in the men&#8217;s 50 back S5 with a 25.40.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrew Mullen\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 37.94 for second, while Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Szolt Vereczkei\u00a0<\/strong>took bronze with a 38.92.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thanh Tung Vo<\/strong> of Vietnam finished fourth overall with a 40.13, while Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Diego Lopez Diaz\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 40.26.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Beytullah Eroglu\u00a0<\/strong>(41.31), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Massussi\u00a0<\/strong>(42.22), and New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron Leslie\u00a0<\/strong>(42.26) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Back&#8211;S5<\/h3>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Teresa Perales\u00a0<\/strong>claimed first in the women&#8217;s 50 back S5 with a final time of 43.03.<\/p>\n<p>The Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bela Trebinova\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a 44.51, while third went to Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Louise Rung&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>45.40.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zhang Li\u00a0<\/strong>of China posted a 47.07 for fourth, followed by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mayumi Narita&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>47.63.<\/p>\n<p>The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alyssa Gialamas\u00a0<\/strong>(47.95), France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anita Fatis\u00a0<\/strong>(49.23), and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Natallia Shavel\u00a0<\/strong>(50.41) took sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 150 IM&#8211;SM3<\/h3>\n<p>During this morning&#8217;s prelims swim of the men&#8217;s 150 IM SM3 it was Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dmtro Vynohradets&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>who snagged the top seed and left the existing World Record of 2:43.72 at risk of falling in finals. Vynohradets&#8217; was not alone, however, in his pursuit of the World Record as China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Huang Wenpan<\/strong> battled him all the way throughout the race. At the end it was Huang who finished first with a new World and Paralympic Record of 2:40.19, while Vynohradets&#8217; settled for second and a 2:40.75.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese duo of\u00a0<strong>Du Jianping\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Li Tingshen\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third and fourth with times of 2:52.32 and 2:55.29 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Thailand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Somchai Doungkaew\u00a0<\/strong>(3:06.25), Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arnulfo Castorena\u00a0<\/strong>(3:10.84), Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikael Fredriksson\u00a0<\/strong>(3:28.28), and Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cristopher Tronco\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything you need to follow along live with finals of day nine at the 2016 Paralympic Games.
