{"id":221140,"date":"2016-09-14T17:18:16","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T00:18:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=221140"},"modified":"2016-09-14T17:18:16","modified_gmt":"2016-09-15T00:18:16","slug":"lady-ledecky-lets-loose-on-the-ellen-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lady-ledecky-lets-loose-on-the-ellen-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Lady Ledecky Lets Loose On The Ellen Show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After making history at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games by becoming the second woman in history to win the 200, 400, and 800 freestyle individual events five-time Olympic gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> has been making the rounds visiting various media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky&#8217;s most recent appearance was on The Ellen Show where she presented host\u00a0<strong>Ellen DeGeneres\u00a0<\/strong>with two swim caps to encourage Ellen to &#8220;Just Keep Swimming.&#8221; The two caps feature the American flag with one featuring the name &#8220;Dory&#8221; and the other &#8220;Ellen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While on the show Ledecky talked about what it means to follow in the footsteps of fellow freestyle legends\u00a0<strong>Debbie Meyer, Shirley Babashoff,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Janet Evans<\/strong> and expressed excitement about moving into her Stanford dorm room for freshman year.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympic gold medalist later joined American Ninja Warrior\u00a0<strong>Grant McCartney\u00a0<\/strong>in a tight match of &#8220;Foot Flickers,&#8221; a game special to The Ellen Show.
