Just two days after the NCAA announced that they would be pulling all championship events from the state of North Carolina, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has announced that they will be following suit.<\/p>\n

The decision to pull all championships events for the 2016-17 academic year is in response to the House Bill 2, also known as HB2, which “requires individuals to use the bathroom corresponding to the gender listed on their birth certificate in government buildings, schools and universities, and initially took away the ability of employees to sue their employers in state court for discrimination or wrongful termination.”<\/p>\n

HB2 was passed in a one-day session in late March and signed by Governor\u00a0Pat McCrory<\/strong> later that same night with the portion about employees being able to sue their employers being stripped.<\/p>\n
