Hit refresh for all the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free&#8211;S6<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Francesco Bocciardo\u00a0<\/strong>of Italy outlasted the competition in finals of the men&#8217;s 400 free, stopping the clock at the 5:02.15 mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thijs van Hofweegen\u00a0<\/strong>of The Netherlands claimed silver with a time of 5:07.82, while Cuba&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo Perez Escalona\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a 5:14.44.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Talisson Glock\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a 5:17.24, ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luo Jinbiao&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>5:21.34.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Haanappel\u00a0<\/strong>(5:28.95), New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hamich McLean\u00a0<\/strong>(5:30.63), and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yang Hong\u00a0<\/strong>(5:33.71) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Free&#8211;S6<\/h3>\n<p>In a Paralympic record time\u00a0<strong>Yelyzaveta Mereshko\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine finished in 5:17.01. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lingling Song\u00a0<\/strong>joined her on the podium in 5:21.37 and\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Simmonds\u00a0<\/strong>was in the bronze place in 5:24.97.<\/p>\n<p>Simmonds&#8217; British teammate\u00a0<strong>Ellie Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 5:27.53. Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Viktoriia Sactsova\u00a0<\/strong>(5:36.07) finished fifth. Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vianney Trejo Delgadillo\u00a0<\/strong>(5:48.19), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emanuela Romano\u00a0<\/strong>(5:51.05) and Ireland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicole Turner\u00a0<\/strong>(5:54.61) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 IM&#8211; SM7<\/h3>\n<p>Ukraine continued to be a dominant power this week as\u00a0<strong>Ievgenii Bogodaiko\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 2:30.72 for a Paralympic and world record.\u00a0<strong>Rudy Garcia-Tolson\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA won silver in 2:33.87 and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Levy\u00a0<\/strong>was awarded bronze with a 2:36.99. Only .07 off the medal stand was Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carlos Serrano Zarate\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:37.08. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jiangang Wang\u00a0<\/strong>was just behind him in 2:38.30.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tobias Pollap\u00a0<\/strong>(2:45.40), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Valerio Taras\u00a0<\/strong>(2:47.27), and Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andreas Skaar Bjornstad\u00a0<\/strong>(2:48.06) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM&#8211; SM7<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nikita Howarth\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer under three minutes. The New Zealand swimmer claimed gold in 2:57.29. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tess Routliffe\u00a0<\/strong>(3:02.05) and USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cortney Jordan\u00a0<\/strong>(3:04.17) took home silver and bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ying Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>of China finished fourth with a 3:09.28. Two seconds behind her was Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Mehain\u00a0<\/strong>(3:11.16).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arianna Talamona\u00a0<\/strong>(3:16.97) of Italy and\u00a0<strong>Judit Rolo Marichal\u00a0<\/strong>(3:39.68) of Spain finished sixth and seventh. Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Veronica Almeida\u00a0<\/strong>was disqualified.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Freestyle&#8211; S10<\/h3>\n<p>Ukraine won another event tonight as\u00a0<strong>Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>hit the wall in 51.08. Just behind him were a pair of swimmers from the host nation:\u00a0<strong>Andre Brasil\u00a0<\/strong>(51.37) and\u00a0<strong>Phelipe Rodrigues\u00a0<\/strong>(51.48). Only .06 from a medal was Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Denys Dubrov\u00a0<\/strong>in 51.54. His teammate\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Vanzenko\u00a0<\/strong>(54.03) finished sixth.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rowan Crothers\u00a0<\/strong>(52.17) was fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathan Stein\u00a0<\/strong>(54.43) and the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Olivier Van de Voort\u00a0<\/strong>(55.04) were seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Freestyle&#8211; S10<\/h3>\n<p>Two swimmers were under a minute tonight. Leading the way was\u00a0<strong>Aurelie Rivard.\u00a0<\/strong>The Canadian stopped the clock in 59.31, a half second ahead of\u00a0<strong>Sophie Pascoe\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand in 59.85. France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elodie Lorandi\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.13) completed the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Also coming into the wall in 1:01 was\u00a0<strong>Yi Chen\u00a0<\/strong>of China in 1:01.76.<\/p>\n<p>A trio of 1:02&#8217;s came from\u00a0<strong>Lisa Kruger\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>Marije Oosterhuis\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands and\u00a0<strong>Mariana Ribeiro\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil as they finished in 1:02.67, 1:02.78, and 1:02.75 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Completing the final was\u00a0<strong>Steffany Rubi Cristino Zapata\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.54) of Mexico.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke&#8211; SB11<\/h3>\n<p>Another world record fell this Games as\u00a0<strong>Bozun Yang\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:10.08. The Chinese man finished ahead of the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tharon Drake\u00a0<\/strong>(1:11.50) and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Keiichi Kimura\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.88) who also finished on the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oleksandr Mashchenko\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.53) and\u00a0<strong>Viktor Smyrnov\u00a0<\/strong>(1:15.69) were fourth and fifth. Finishing in sixth place was\u00a0<strong>Brayan Urbano Herrera\u00a0<\/strong>of Columbia with a 1:19.27.\u00a0The Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miroslav Smrcka\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.92) and Cuba&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yunerki Ortega\u00a0<\/strong>(1:27.45) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke&#8211; SB11<\/h3>\n<p>Another Chinese swimmer took down Paralympic and world records on the way to gold.\u00a0<strong>Xiaotong Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:23.02 for victory. In 1:25.81 the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Liesette Bruinsma\u00a0<\/strong>(1:25.81) won silver while bronze went to Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maja Reichard\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:26.60.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yana Berezhna\u00a0<\/strong>(1:28.04) and Argentina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nadia Baez\u00a0<\/strong>(1:35.51) were fourth and fifth. Completing the final were\u00a0<strong>Lettivia Martinez\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.22) of the USA and\u00a0<strong>Martina Rabbolini\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.81) of Italy.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke&#8211; SB12<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Uladzimir Izotau\u00a0<\/strong>of Belarus finished in a 1:06.82 for the Paralympic record. In second was\u00a0<strong>Dzmitry Salei\u00a0<\/strong>of Azerbajjan with a 1:08.80. Only two tenths behind him\u00a0<strong>Maksym Veraksa\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine claimed bronze in 1:09.00.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing less than a quarter second off the podium in 1:09.17 was\u00a0<strong>Anuar Akhmetov\u00a0<\/strong>of Kazakhstan.\u00a0<strong>Sergii Klippert\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine edged Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Giraldo Correa\u00a0<\/strong>1:10.55 to 1:10.56. Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Simon\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.08) and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fabrizio Sottile\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.92) finished seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Backstroke &#8211;S8<\/h3>\n<p>Yet another Paralympic and world record duo came crashing down by way of a Chinese swimmer.\u00a0<strong>Cong Zhou\u00a0<\/strong>raced to a 1:02.90.\u00a0<strong>Oliver Hynd <\/strong>of Britain\u00a0posted a 1:04.46 and American\u00a0<strong>Robert Griswold\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 1:04.68 for bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainians\u00a0<strong>Iurii Bozhynskyi\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.21) and\u00a0<strong>Bohdan Hryneko\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.24) finished back to back.\u00a0<strong>Pipo Carlomagno\u00a0<\/strong>of Argentina placed sixth in 1:07.33. Seventh and eighth went to Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jesse Aungles\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.47) and Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Niels Mortensen\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.62).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Backstroke &#8211;S8<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Stephanie Millward\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain was dominant, finishing in Paralympic record time of 1:13.02. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maddison Elliott\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:17.16 while\u00a0<strong>Jessica Long\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA was also on the podium with a 1:18.12. Just missing a medal was\u00a0<strong>Lakeisha Patterson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:18.27) of Australia.\u00a0Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Slater\u00a0<\/strong>was also in the hunt at the halfway mark, but finished fifth with a 1:19.42.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Cleo Keijzer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:22.09), China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Weiyuan Lu\u00a0<\/strong>(1:22.17) and American\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Marks\u00a0<\/strong>(1:22.67) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Freestyle &#8211;S9<\/h3>\n<p>Two swimmers cleared 26 seconds. Getting to the wall first was\u00a0<strong>Matthew Wylie\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain in 25.95. Silver went to\u00a0<strong>Timothy Disken\u00a0<\/strong>in 25.99. Only .01 behind was\u00a0<strong>Takuro Yamada\u00a0<\/strong>in 26.00. Just missing out on a medal was Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tamas Sors\u00a0<\/strong>with his 26.04.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the heat was a tight bunch as well. In 26.11 Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jose Antonio Mari Alcaraz\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth. Just .07 behind with a 26.18 was Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tamas Toth<\/strong>. Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ruiter Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(26.62) and Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Crouch\u00a0<\/strong>(26.76) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Freestyle &#8211;S9<\/h3>\n<p>After setting a Paralympic and world record in last night&#8217;s 100,\u00a0<strong>Michell Konkoly\u00a0<\/strong>notched the Paralympic record in tonight&#8217;s 50. The American got her hand to the wall first in 28.29.\u00a0<strong>Ellie Cole\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia went a 29.13 for silver while China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jiexin Wang\u00a0<\/strong>picked up bronze in 29.30. Just .03 off the medal stand was\u00a0<strong>Emily Beecroft\u00a0<\/strong>(29.33) from Australia.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the field also finished under 30. Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarai Gascon\u00a0<\/strong>(29.39) and\u00a0<strong>Nuria Marques Soto\u00a0<\/strong>(29.80) were fifth and eighth.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ping Lin\u00a0<\/strong>(29.62) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ashleigh Mcconnell\u00a0<\/strong>(29.63) battled to sixth and seventh.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Freestyle&#8211;S3<\/h3>\n<p>Yet another Paralympic and World record were wiped from the books this evening. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wenpan Huang\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 39.24 to take down both marks. His teammate\u00a0<strong>Hanhua Li\u00a0<\/strong>joined him on the podium with a bronze earning 42.18. Between the two was\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Vynohradets&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>in 41.41.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jianping Du\u00a0<\/strong>of china finished fourth in 45.62. Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vincenzo Boni\u00a0<\/strong>was a 47.32 for fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Angel Martinez Tajuelo\u00a0<\/strong>(50.90), Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ioannis Kostakis\u00a0<\/strong>(53.95) and Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikael Fredriksson\u00a0<\/strong>(55.74) also raced in tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Freestyle&#8211;S4<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gi Seong Jo\u00a0<\/strong>of Korea led the way by nearly a second and a half at the 100 mark. He came home strong to finish in 3:01.67.\u00a0<strong>Michael Schoenmaker\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands finished in 3:03.81 for silver, just ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zhipeng Jin\u00a0<\/strong>in 3:03.94.<\/p>\n<p>In 3:05.02 Slovenia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darko Duric\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth. with a 3:06.39 France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Smetanine\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth.\u00a0<strong>Gustavo Sanchez Martinez\u00a0<\/strong>(3:10.58) of Mexico, the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jan Povysil\u00a0<\/strong>(3:15.72), and Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Derevinskyi\u00a0<\/strong>(3:17.53) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everything you need to follow along live with day six finals of the 2016 Paralympic Games.
