Ihar Boki\u00a0<\/strong>of Belarus maintained his spot atop the leaderboard in finals of the men’s 400 free, stopping the clock at a 3:55.62 to set a new Paralympic Record.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s\u00a0Iaroslav Denysenko<\/strong> turned in a 3:58.78 for second, while Uzbekistan’s Dmitriy Horlin<\/strong> was third with a 4:06.63.<\/p>\n Fellow Ukrainian Danylo Chufarov\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a 4:10.92, followed by the Australian duo of\u00a0Braedan Jason\u00a0<\/strong>(4:12.95) and\u00a0Jacob Templeton\u00a0<\/strong>(4:15.86).<\/p>\n Azerbaijan’s\u00a0Raman Salei<\/strong> took seventh with a 4:19.34, ahead of Brazil’s\u00a0Thomaz Matera\u00a0<\/strong>(4:19.62).<\/p>\n Rebecca Meyers<\/strong> of the USA bypassed the World and Paralympic Records in finals of the women’s 400 free, setting the bar at a 4:19.59. The previous record of 4:28.64 was set in 2008 by Canada’s\u00a0Valerie Grand’Maison.<\/strong><\/p>\n Also finishing underneath the previous World Record was\u00a0Anna Stetsenko<\/strong> of Ukraine with a second place finish of 4:24.18. Spain’s\u00a0Ariadna Edo Beltran<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a final time of 4:43.49.<\/p>\n Germany’s\u00a0Naomi Maike Schnittger<\/strong> took fourth with a 4:43.57, followed by Italy’s\u00a0Alessia Berra’s\u00a0<\/strong>4:44.52.<\/p>\n Great Britain’s\u00a0Abby Kane<\/strong> (4:49.27), Australia’s\u00a0Katja Dedekind\u00a0<\/strong>(4:50.43), and Spain’s\u00a0Marta Maria Gomez Battelli\u00a0<\/strong>(4:50.43) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n New Zealand’s\u00a0Cameron Leslie<\/strong> finished the men’s 150 IM in World and Paralympic Record time with a final 2:23.12. Leslie had previously set the two records at a 2:25.98 at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n Silver went to China’s\u00a0Jin Zhipeng<\/strong> and his final time of 2:26.91, while the bronze was picked up by Denmark’s\u00a0Jonas Larsen’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:33.67.<\/p>\n Japan’s\u00a0Takayuki Suzuki\u00a0<\/strong>posted a final time of 2:38.71 for fourth, just ahead of Italy’s\u00a0Efrem Morelli\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 2:43.75.<\/p>\n Spain’s\u00a0Miguel Luque\u00a0<\/strong>(2:45.34), the Czech Republic’s\u00a0Jan Povysil\u00a0<\/strong>(2:45.79), and Mexico’s\u00a0Gustavo Sanchez Martinez\u00a0<\/strong>(2:54.95) were sixth through eighth.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Cheng Jiao\u00a0<\/strong>claimed first in finals of the women’s 150-meter IM with a time of 2:49.69, finishing just off her own World and Paralympic Record of 2:47.57.<\/p>\n Olga Sviderska\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine touched with a time of 2:54.14 for second, while third went to China’s\u00a0Deng Yue’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:57.26.<\/p>\n Mexico’s\u00a0Nely Miranda Herrera\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth with a time of 2:57.76, just ahead of Italy’s\u00a0Arjola Trimi\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 2:57.91.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s\u00a0Mariia Lafina<\/strong> was sixth with a time of 3:01.30, followed by Kazakhstan’s\u00a0Zulfiya Gabidullina’s\u00a0<\/strong>3:25.30.<\/p>\n Karolina Hamer\u00a0<\/strong>of Poland was disqualified.<\/p>\n Bradley Snyder\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA added to his medal collection in the men’s 50 free finals by adding another gold. Snyder turned in a final time of 25.57 for first, finishing only .30 seconds off the World Record of 25.27.<\/p>\n Japan’s\u00a0Keiichi Kimura<\/strong> took second with a time of 26.52, followed by China’s\u00a0Yang Bozun\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 26.72.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s\u00a0Oleksandr Mashchenko\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a 26.97, followed by Belarus’\u00a0Hryhory Zudzilau’s\u00a0<\/strong>27.02.<\/p>\n South Africa’s\u00a0Hendrii Herbst<\/strong> was sixth with a 27.11, while seventh went to the Czech Republic’s\u00a0Miroslav Smrcka’s\u00a0<\/strong>28.08.<\/p>\n Viktor Smyrnov<\/strong> of Ukraine was disqualified.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Li Guizhi\u00a0<\/strong>edged past the existing World and Paralympic Record of 30.94 in finals of the women’s 50 free with a 30.73. The previous record was set in 2012 by Italy’s\u00a0Cecilia Camellini.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Maja Reichard\u00a0<\/strong>of Sweden finished second overall with a close 30.76, while a tie occurred for bronze between Ukraine’s\u00a0Maryna Piddubna\u00a0<\/strong>and the Netherlands’\u00a0Liesette Bruinsma<\/strong>. The pair delivered matching times of 31.23.<\/p>\n The previous World Record holder, Camellini, finished fifth overall with a 31.71, while New Zealand’s\u00a0Mary Fisher\u00a0<\/strong>was sixth with a close 31.80.<\/p>\n Seventh and eighth went to China’s\u00a0Xie Qing\u00a0<\/strong>(32.00) and\u00a0Cai Liwen\u00a0<\/strong>(32.31).<\/p>\n Ukrainian teammates\u00a0Denys Dubrov\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>continued to lead the competition in finals of the men’s 100 fly, touching first and second respectively. Dubrov once again lowered the World and Paralympic Records, this time to a sizzling 54.71 over Krypak’s 54.90.<\/p>\n Hometown favorite\u00a0Andre Brasil<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil earned the bronze medal with a 56.50 finish.<\/p>\n The Canadian duo of\u00a0Alec Elliot\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Nathan Stein\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth and fifth with times of 58.35 and 58.64 respectively.<\/p>\n Spain’s\u00a0David Levecq\u00a0<\/strong>(59.03), Italy’s\u00a0Riccardo Menciotti\u00a0<\/strong>(59.65), and South Africa’s\u00a0Achmat Hassiem\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.96) completed the final.<\/p>\n Sophie Pascoe<\/strong> of New Zealand earned her third gold medal of the 2016 Paralympic Games in finals of the women’s 100 fly. Pascoe finished with a time of 1:02.65 to set a new Paralympic Record and flirt with her own World Record of 1:02.60. With this gold medal Pascoe now owns a total of 14 Paralympic medals and is considered to be New Zealand’s most successful Paralympic swimmer.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Chen Yi\u00a0<\/strong>took second overall with a 1:06.92, followed by Poland’s\u00a0Oliwia Jablonska’s\u00a0<\/strong>1:08.77.<\/p>\n Spain’s\u00a0Isabel Yinghua Hernandez Santos\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a 1:09.23, just ahead of Canada’s\u00a0Samantha Ryan<\/strong> and her time of 1:09.73.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Paige Leonhardt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:10.55), Great Britain’s\u00a0Alice Tai\u00a0<\/strong>(1:11.92), and the Netherlands’\u00a0Chantalle Zuderveld\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.56) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Australia’s\u00a0Timothy Disken\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Brenden Hall<\/strong> turned in the only two sub-57 second times in finals of the men’s 100 free. Disken claimed first with a 56.32, while teammate Hall finished second with a 56.95.<\/p>\n Hungary’s\u00a0Tamas Toth<\/strong> earned the bronze medal wit ha time of 57.20, just ahead of Italy’s\u00a0Federico Morlacchi’s\u00a0<\/strong>57.28.<\/p>\n Brazil’s\u00a0Ruiter Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(57.44), Hungary’s\u00a0Tamas Sors\u00a0<\/strong>(57.49), Spain’s\u00a0Jose Antonio Mari Alcaraz\u00a0<\/strong>(57.62), and Japan’s\u00a0Takuro Yamada\u00a0<\/strong>(57.69) rounded out the finalists.<\/p>\n Michelle Konkoly\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA sprinted past the World and Paralympic Records in finals of the women’s 100 free. Konkoly delivered a final time of 1:00.91 to overturn the previous World Record of 1:01.44 set in 2008 by South Africa’s\u00a0Natalie du Toit.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Spain’s\u00a0Sarai Gascon\u00a0<\/strong>battled some tough competition from Australia’s\u00a0Ellie Cole<\/strong> for the silver medal. Gascon finished second overall with a 1:02.81 over Cole’s 1:02.93.<\/p>\n Nuria Marques Soto\u00a0<\/strong>of Spain claimed fourth overall with a 1:03.94, followed by China’s\u00a0Xu Jialing’s\u00a0<\/strong>1:04.32.<\/p>\n The Australian duo of\u00a0Emily Beecroft\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ashleigh McConnell\u00a0<\/strong>tied for sixth after the two teammates delivered matching times of 1:05.19.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Lin Ping<\/strong> took eighth overall with a 1:06.18.<\/p>\n Sascha Kindred<\/strong> of Great Britain delivered a new World and Paralympic Record in finals of the men’s 200 IM. Kindred stopped the clock at a 2:38.47 to edge past the previous record of 2:38.62 set in 2012 at the London Paralympic Games by\u00a0Xu Qing<\/strong> of China.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Jia Hongguang\u00a0<\/strong>took second with a time of 2:39.47, just ahead of Brazil’s\u00a0Talisson Glock’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:41.39.<\/p>\n The Chinese duo of\u00a0Xu Qing<\/strong> and\u00a0Yang Hong\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth and fifth with times of 2:42.57 and 2:42.92 respectively.<\/p>\n Ukraine’s\u00a0Iaroslav Semenenko\u00a0<\/strong>was sixth with a 2:54.74, while seventh went to Israel’s\u00a0Yoav Valinsky\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 2:59.08.<\/p>\n Colombia’s\u00a0Nelson Crispin Corzo\u00a0<\/strong>was disqualified.<\/p>\n Eleanor Simmonds<\/strong> of Great Britain continued the record breaking streak with new World and Paralympic Records in the women’s 200 IM. Simmonds turned in a final time of 2:59.81 to obliterate her own World Record of 3:05.39 that she set at the 2012 London Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Song Lingling\u00a0<\/strong>also finished underneath the previous World Record, stopping the clock at a 3:03.19 for second, while bronze was claimed by Australia’s\u00a0Tiffany Thomas Kane<\/strong> and her time of 3:09.78.<\/p>\n Germany’s\u00a0Verena Schott<\/strong> took fourth with a time of 3:10.44, followed by China’s\u00a0Lu Dong’s\u00a0<\/strong>3:13.47.<\/p>\n Sophia Elizabeth Herzog<\/strong> of the USA was a close sixth with a time of 3:13.57, just ahead of Ireland’s\u00a0Nicole Turner<\/strong> (3:18.18).<\/p>\n Yelyzaveta Mereshko<\/strong> of Ukraine was disqualified.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Pan Shiyun\u00a0<\/strong>successfully lowered his own World and Parlaympic Records during finals of the 50 fly. Pan finished with a time of 28.41 to sneak past his former record of 29.49 set in 2012 at the London Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n Also finishing underneath the former World Record was Ukraine’s\u00a0Ievgenii Bogodaiko<\/strong> with a time of 29.35, while China’s\u00a0Wang Jingang<\/strong> claimed the bronze medal with a 30.07.<\/p>\n Colombia’s\u00a0Carlos Serrano Zarate\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth with a time of 31.07, followed by close competition from Australia’s\u00a0Matthew Levy\u00a0<\/strong>(31.32) and Ukraine’s\u00a0Andriy Kozlenko\u00a0<\/strong>(31.33).<\/p>\n Ukrainian teammate\u00a0Marian Kvasnytsia\u00a0<\/strong>was seventh overall with a 32.27 finish, ahead of Germany’s\u00a0Tobias Pollap’s\u00a0<\/strong>32.91.<\/p>\n Susannah Rodgers<\/strong> of Great Britain claimed gold in finals of the women’s 50 fly with a sizzling 35.07.<\/p>\n The USA’s\u00a0Cortney Jordan<\/strong> delivered a time of 35.46 for the silver medal, while New Zealand’s\u00a0Nikita Howarth<\/strong> finished third with a 35.97.<\/p>\n Sarah Mehain<\/strong> of Canada touched fourth with a 36.46, followed by Spain’s\u00a0Judit Rolo Marichal\u00a0<\/strong>(37.78) and the USA’s\u00a0McKenzie Coan\u00a0<\/strong>(37.87).<\/p>\n Canada’s\u00a0Tess Routliffe\u00a0<\/strong>was seventh with a time of 39.17, ahead of Brazil’s\u00a0Veronica Almeida’s\u00a0<\/strong>39.51.<\/p>\n Daniel Dias\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil claimed the gold medal in finals of the men’s 50 free. The current World Record holder in the event delivered a final time of 32.78 to finish ahead of the competition.<\/p>\n The silver medal went to Vietnam’s\u00a0Thanh Tung Vo<\/strong> and his time of 33.94, while the USA’s Roy Perkins finished third with a 34.42.<\/p>\n Spain’s\u00a0Sebastian Rodriguez<\/strong> took fourth overall with a 34.62, ahead of Great Britain’s\u00a0Andrew Mullen’s\u00a0<\/strong>34.87.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0He Shiwei<\/strong> (35.60), Brazil’s\u00a0Clodaldo Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(36.27), and Italy’s\u00a0Giovanni Sciaccaluga<\/strong> (36.85) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n China’s\u00a0Zhang Li\u00a0<\/strong>delivered the top time of the women’s 50 free, stopping the clock at a 36.87.
