JAMESON Hill, a five-star recruit from the Class of 2010, is the next subject in this summer&#39;s series of <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings Profiles. Hill lives in Manassas, Va., and swims for the <a href=http:\/\/www.qddswim.org\/ target=_blank>QDD Swim Team<\/a> and Seton High.<\/p>\n<p>Hill maintains his <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=7625 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> <a href=http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/tym target=_blank>College Recruit Rankings<\/a> powered by <i>Take Your Marks<\/i>, and is a freestyle specialist. Hill owns top long course meter times in the 200 free (1:50.02) and 400 free (3:57.22).  <\/p>\n<p><b>Where and when did you start swimming?<\/b><br \/>\nI first started swimming around age 7 for the Savannah Swim Team in Savannah. Georgia.<\/p>\n<p><b>Who would you name as the most influential person and coach in your swimming career?<\/b><br \/>\nThere have been a lot of influential people so far in my swimming career.  My mom got me started when I was young and has helped push me my whole career.  Definitely all my coaches I&#39;ve had have been very helpful.  Starting with my first coaches in Robin and Brian White, who helped me realize my potential and helped me start swimming more seriously.  And, also my current coach Rick Benner who has helped me reach goals I would have never even dreamed of a few years ago.<\/p>\n<p><b>What, to this point, is your best moment in the sport and why?<\/b><br \/>\nMy best moment so far has probably been Juniors in Seattle a few weeks ago.  I got 2nd in the 200 free and even though I really wanted to win I was still happy since I did a good time and gained a lot of experience racing top level swimmers.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Walk us through a day of practice:<\/b><br \/>\nOver the summer we have a very busy schedule with doubles Monday through Saturday all of which are 3 hours.  Morning practices are from 6-9 where we would usually do a lot of aerobic training mostly freestyle or IM around 10,000 meters.  Afternoons are from 3-6 with the first 30 minutes drylands consisting of upper body and lower body core exercises.  As for practice, afternoons were usually slower intervals with fast sets working on speed.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nMy favorite set would probably be something like 3x200s with paddles on 3:00 descending 1 to 3 with the last one all out.<\/p>\n<p><b>What is your least favorite set?<\/b><br \/>\nMy least favorite set would probably be anything that doesn&#39;t involve freestyle.<\/p>\n<p> <b>What are your short-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nMy short-term goals are to make the Youth World Cup team in November and soon thereafter choose the university that best fits me.  <\/p>\n<p><b>What are your long-term goals?<\/b><br \/>\nMy long-term goals would probably be to continue improving at a fast rate and help my college team place as high as possible at NCAAs.<\/p>\n<p><b>What colleges are you interested in so far?<\/b><br \/>\nIn no particular order: Ohio State, Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana, and Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p><b>What has the recruiting process been like so far, now that you are allowed to be called by coaches?<\/b><br \/>\nIt has been interesting seeing what each school has to offer, but it has also been somewhat hectic trying to balance swimming, school, friends and still keeping in contact with all the coaches.  <\/p>\n<p><b>Is there anything else interesting that you&#39;d like our readers to know about you?<\/b><br \/>\nI don&#39;t really have any weird hobbies or anything but I like to play golf every once in a while and sometimes ping pong with my friends even though I&#39;m not that good.<\/p>\n<p><i><b>RECRUITS:<\/b> To make sure we have the most updated information on your recruiting, and to earn the highest star ranking you deserve, please either create a new profile, or request to take over your admin-created account in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings powered by Take Your Marks.
