Korea&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Woo Geun Lim\u00a0<\/strong>was a second and a half back in 1:34.86. This third seed went to Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pedro Rangel<\/strong> (1:37.02). Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Roberto Rodriguez\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.82) was also under 1:40.00. Coming in fifth exactly on the 1:40 mark was Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Maria Dolfin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Georgios Sfaltos\u00a0<\/strong>(1:40.17), Vietnam&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thanh Hai Do\u00a0<\/strong>(1:40.96), and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Adirano De Lim\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.04) will also race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Breaststroke SB5<\/h3>\n<p>Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Viktoriia Savtsoca\u00a0<\/strong>(1:41.03) and\u00a0<strong>Yelyzaveta Mereshko\u00a0<\/strong>(1:43.41) were the first two to the wall. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lingling Song\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:45.79.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fanni Illes\u00a0<\/strong>oh Hungary and Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Verena Schott\u00a0<\/strong>were also under 1:50 in 1:47.02 and 1:49.38.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emanuela Romano\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.90), Vietnam&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thi Bich Nhu Trinh\u00a0<\/strong>(1:52.06), and Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sabine Weber-Treiber\u00a0<\/strong>(1:53.73) also secured lanes for finals.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m IM SM9<\/h3>\n<p>In a tight battle,\u00a0<strong>Timothy Disken\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia got to the wall ahead of Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tamas Sors\u00a0<\/strong>as the two finished in 2:18.86 and 2:18.97. Sors&#8217; teammate\u00a0<strong>Tamas Toth\u00a0<\/strong>also qualified for the final, taking fourth in 2:20.34. Just ahead of him in third was Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Federico Morlacchi\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:20.15.<\/p>\n<p>Australia put two more in the final as\u00a0<strong>Brenden Hall\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Timothy Hodge\u00a0<\/strong>posted times of 2:21.74 and 2:22.23.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Crisp\u00a0<\/strong>(2:22.72) and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cody Bureau\u00a0<\/strong>(2:23.95) round out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m IM SM9<\/h3>\n<p>In one of the closer races of the morning,\u00a0<strong>Amy Marren\u00a0<\/strong>of Britain claimed the top seed in 2:37.01. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ping Lin\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 2:37.50 and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarai Gascon\u00a0<\/strong>registered a 2:37.71 for the third seed.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeleine Scott\u00a0<\/strong>(2:38.04), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katarina Roxon\u00a0<\/strong>(2:38.75) and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nuria Marques Soto\u00a0<\/strong>(2:38.85) all finished within a second of each other.<\/p>\n<p>Another second back China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jialing Xu\u00a0<\/strong>(2:39.61) and Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Claire Cashmore\u00a0<\/strong>(2:39.68) will also race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100m Breaststroke SB13<\/h3>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oleksii Fedyna\u00a0<\/strong>led the way this morning with a 1:04.98. Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Firdavsbek Musabekov\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 1:05.38 and the third seed went to\u00a0<strong>Ihar Boki\u00a0<\/strong>of Belarus in 1:06.79.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the field will need big drops tonight to be in medal contention. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liam Bekric\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.17) and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Guilherme Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.85) were fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ivan Salguero Oteiza\u00a0<\/strong>(1:13.08), Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gerasimos Lignos\u00a0<\/strong>(1:14.25) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Russo\u00a0<\/strong>(1:14.32) finished sixth through eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Breaststroke SB13<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Rebecca Redfern\u00a0<\/strong>took down the first Paralympic record of the morning. The English woman touched in 1:17.08. Just behind her was\u00a0<strong>Elena Krawzow\u00a0<\/strong>of Germany in 1:17.25. The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Colleen Young\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:19.10.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Anastasiya Zudzilava\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:20.01. Just behind her were Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Prue Watt\u00a0<\/strong>(1:20.44) and Cyprus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Karolina Pelendritou\u00a0<\/strong>(1:20.72).<\/p>\n<p>Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fotimakhon Amilova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.20) and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Martha Ruether\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.74) also earned second swims.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m Freestyle S14<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Daniel Fox\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the first men&#8217;s Paralympic record of the morning with a 1:57.19. Just behind the Australian was Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thomas Hamer\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:57.31 and Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wai Lok Tang\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:57.44. Fox&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Liam Schluter\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.95) should also be in the medal hunt tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Iceland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jon Margeir\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.01), Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Keichi Nakajima\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.38), Korea&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Won Sang Cho\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.01), and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Felipe Vila Real\u00a0<\/strong>(2:01.11) also swim again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m Freestyle S14<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Bethany Firth\u00a0<\/strong>made it two in a row for downed Paralympic records, stopping the clock in 2:05.96. Her British teammate\u00a0<strong>Jessica-Jane Applegate\u00a0<\/strong>will head to finals in second with a 2:07.95. Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Pernilla Lindberg\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.74) and the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Marlou Van Der Kulk\u00a0<\/strong>(2:14.63) were third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michelle Alonso Morales\u00a0<\/strong>(2:17.42) and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Michelle Franssen\u00a0<\/strong>(2:20.52) were fifth and sixth. Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Janina Bruer\u00a0<\/strong>(2:21.14) and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xenia Francesca Palazzo\u00a0<\/strong>(2:21.25) round out tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m IM SM10<\/h3>\n<p>Once the record breaking started this morning, it could not be stopped.\u00a0<strong>Denys Dubrov\u00a0<\/strong>led a Ukrainian trio in a new Paralympic mark of 2:09.23.\u00a0<strong>Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>(2:11.88) and\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Vanzenko\u00a0<\/strong>(2:13.66) followed. The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Olivier Van de Voort\u00a0<\/strong>and Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benoit Huot\u00a0<\/strong>also put themselves in medal contention tying in 2:13.98.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kevin Paul\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.09), Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isaac Bouckley\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.67), and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Sven Decaesstecker\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.16) also earned lanes in finals.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m IM SM10<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sophie Pascoe\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand finished six seconds ahead this morning in 2:27.44. Canad&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aurelie Rivard\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 2:33.88 and the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lisa Kruger\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 2:34.64.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the fourth seed was\u00a0<strong>Harriet Lee\u00a0<\/strong>(2:35.90) of Great Britain. The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Chantalle Zijderveld\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.39) was fifth. Chinese teammates\u00a0<strong>Meng Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.64) and\u00a0<strong>Yi Chen\u00a0<\/strong>(2:37.33) were sixth and eighth while Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bianka Pap\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.78) was seventh in prelims.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100m Freestyle S8<\/h3>\n<p>Two British swimmers and three Chinese made it into tonight&#8217;s final.<strong> Josef Craig\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 58.73 for the top seed while his British teammate\u00a0<strong>Oliver Hynd\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth in 59.62.\u00a0<strong>Yinan Wang<\/strong> (59.03),\u00a0<strong>Guanglong Yang\u00a0<\/strong>(59.33) and\u00a0<strong>Maodang Song\u00a0<\/strong>(59.68) finished second, third and fifth for China this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bohdan Hrynenko\u00a0<\/strong>(59.82), Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luis Armando Andrade Guillen\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.12) and Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zack Mcallister\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.36) will also race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Freestyle S8<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jessica Long\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.07) of the USA finished ahead of a pair of Australians,\u00a0<strong>Lakeisha Patterson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.45) and\u00a0<strong>Maddison Elliott\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.69).\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Millward\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain followed in 1:08.24.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ceciia Jeronimo de Araujo\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.73) of Brazil was fifth. Canadians\u00a0<strong>Morgan Bird\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.92) and\u00a0<strong>Abi Tripp\u00a0<\/strong>(1:10.30) were sixth and seventh. Long&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Mallory Weggemann\u00a0<\/strong>snuck into the final in 1:11.17.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Breaststroke SB4<\/h3>\n<p>Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Louise Rung\u00a0<\/strong>was absolutely dominant, finishing in 1:45.46. Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rui Si Theresa Goh\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 1:54.50 and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Giulia Ghiretti\u00a0<\/strong>took the third seed in 1:55.58.\u00a0<strong>Inbal Pezaro\u00a0<\/strong>from Israel also finished under two minutes in 1:57.28.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Natallia Shavel\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.11) finished ahead of Chinese teammates\u00a0<strong>Li Zhang\u00a0<\/strong>(2:02.84) and\u00a0<strong>Cuan Yao\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.00). Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chrysoula Antoniadou\u00a0<\/strong>(2:06.92) rounds out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m Freestyle S2<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liangkang Zou\u00a0<\/strong>set the lone world record of the morning, and took down the Paralympic mark with a 3:49.37.\u00a0Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Serhii Palamarchuk\u00a0<\/strong>was just a half second behind him in 3:49.84.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benying Liu\u00a0<\/strong>(4:00.02) and\u00a0<strong>Yang Yang\u00a0<\/strong>(4:13.42) were third and fourth.
