Tonight he took a second and a half off those marks, touching in 1:12.50 for gold. Silver went to Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Blake Cochrane\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:18.66. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hong Yang\u00a0<\/strong>snagged bronze in 1:20.21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simon Boer\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands finished just off the podium with a 1:20.44. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jianfeng Chen\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.37), the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rudy Garcia-Tolson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:22.45), Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tomotaro Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>(1:23.46) and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Evan Austin\u00a0<\/strong>(1:23.55) rounded out tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 100m Breaststroke SB7<\/h3>\n<p>In prelims,<strong> Elizabeth Marks\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA touched in a new Paralympic record time of 1:28.83. Tonight she dropped another seven tenths to take the world and Paralympic records and gold with her 1:28.13. American teammate\u00a0<strong>Jessica Long\u00a0<\/strong>took silver in 1:32.94. The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lisa Den Braber\u00a0<\/strong>won bronze with a 1:34.66.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tess Routliffe\u00a0<\/strong>(1:35.09) and American\u00a0<strong>Mallory Weggmann\u00a0<\/strong>(1:36.06) followed.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oksana Khrul\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.23), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Veronica Almeida\u00a0<\/strong>(1:42.41) and the Czeh Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vendula Duskova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.29) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 50m Freestyle S6<\/h3>\n<p>Two Chinese men were on the podium tonight. Taking gold was\u00a0<strong>Qing Xu\u00a0<\/strong>in 28.81. A second behind him his teammate\u00a0<strong>Hongguang Jia\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 29.87. Between the two was Columbia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nelson Crispin Corzo\u00a0<\/strong>with a 29.27 for silver.<\/p>\n<p>Cuba&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo Perez Escalona\u00a0<\/strong>(30.31) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Haanappel\u00a0<\/strong>(30.77) were fourth and fifth. Sixth through eight were\u00a0<strong>Oleksandr Komarov\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine,\u00a0<strong>Oscar Osorio Campaz\u00a0<\/strong>of Colombia and\u00a0<strong>Thijs Van Hofweegen\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands in 31.06, 31.25, and 31.27.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 50m Freestyle S6<\/h3>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yelyzaveta Mereshko <\/strong>set a Paralmypic record this morning in<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>33.53. Tongith she lowered it by a tenth, touching first in 33.43. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Vikrotiia Savtsova\u00a0<\/strong>was just behing in 33.68. Earning bronze was\u00a0<strong>Tiffany Thomas Kane\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia with a 34.41.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellie Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>out touched China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lingling Song\u00a0<\/strong>by .01 as the two hit the wall in 35.24 and 35.25.<\/p>\n<p>Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Simmonds\u00a0<\/strong>(35.54), Ireland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicole Turner\u00a0<\/strong>(36.31) and Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emanuela Romano\u00a0<\/strong>(36.62) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 50m Butterfly S5<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Roy Perkins\u00a0<\/strong>struck gold tonight, stopping the clock in 35.04. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shiwei He\u00a0<\/strong>took silver with a 35.25.\u00a0<strong>Daniel Dias\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil posted a 35.62 for bronze.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Mullen\u00a0<\/strong>of Britain secured fourth with a 36.32.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Beytullah Eroglu\u00a0<\/strong>(38.70), Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edgar Hugo Pineda Castro\u00a0<\/strong>(38.96), Vietnam&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thanh Tung Vo\u00a0<\/strong>(39.44) and Slovenia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darko Duric\u00a0<\/strong>(40.92) completed the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 50m Butterfly S5<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Xihan Xu\u00a0<\/strong>of China swam well ahead with a winning time of 43.62. Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Louise\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Rung\u00a0<\/strong>was less than a tenth faster than Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Giulia Ghiretti\u00a0<\/strong>as the two won silver and bronze in 45.67 and 45.74.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing just off the podium was Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Reka Kezdi\u00a0<\/strong>in 45.82.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Teresa Perales\u00a0<\/strong>(47.36), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joana Maria Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(47.51), Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Natallia Shavel\u00a0<\/strong>(47.55) and\u00a0Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sevilay Ozturk\u00a0<\/strong>(50.89) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 50m Backstroke S3<\/h3>\n<p>In 44.94\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Vynohradets&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>won gold for Ukraine.\u00a0<strong>Wenpan Huang\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 46.11 to add a silver to China&#8217;s growing medal count. Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vincenzo Boni\u00a0<\/strong>won bronze in 46.67.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese teammates\u00a0<strong>Jianping Du\u00a0<\/strong>(47.02) and\u00a0<strong>Hanhua Li\u00a0<\/strong>(51.48) took fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Angel Martinez Tajuelo\u00a0<\/strong>(52.87), Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikael Fredriksson\u00a0<\/strong>(56.53), and Chile&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alberto Abarza\u00a0<\/strong>(57.93) completed tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 50m Backstroke S3<\/h3>\n<p>In prelims China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Quiping Peng\u00a0<\/strong>lowered the Paralympic mark and took the world record with a 49.91. Tonight she was event faster, stopping the clock in 48.49. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Guofen Meng\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 51.42 while bronze went to\u00a0<strong>Lisette Teunissen\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands in 53.44<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Olga Sviderska\u00a0<\/strong>(54.01) and Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Stamatopoulou\u00a0<\/strong>(58.33) followed. Her Greek teammate\u00a0<strong>Semicha Rizaoglou\u00a0<\/strong>was eight in 1:12.05.<\/p>\n<p>Kazakhstan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Zulifya Gabidullina\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.68) and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maiara Regina Perreira Barreto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.65) finished sixth and seventh.<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 200m IM SM13<\/h3>\n<p>Another Paralympic record went down this morning as Belarus\u2019\u00a0<strong>Ihar Boki <\/strong>finished\u00a0in 2:06.13. Tonight he led by over a second at the halfway mark and came home in a 2:04.02 to lower the Paralympic standard. Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Iaroslav Denysenko\u00a0<\/strong>(2:08.76) and\u00a0<strong>Danylo Chufarov\u00a0<\/strong>(2:11.12) completed the podium.<\/p>\n<p>Azerbaijan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dzmitry Zalei\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 2:13.83 and Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dmitriy Horlin\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 2:15.18. Australians\u00a0<strong>Sean Russo\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.29) and\u00a0<strong>Jacob Templeton\u00a0<\/strong>(2:20.90) took sixth and eighth. Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sergii Klippert\u00a0<\/strong>(2:16.47) finished seventh.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 200m IM SM13<\/h3>\n<p>This morning Uzbekistan\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Fotimakhon\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Amilova\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in a new Paralympic and World record of 2:24.43. Tonight, she held the lead by nearly two seconds after the backstroke. The USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Meyers\u00a0<\/strong>was in second, .02 ahead of Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Stetsenko\u00a0<\/strong>at the halfway point. In the end, Meyers took her second gold in of the Games, finishing in 2:24.66. Amilova could not repeat this morning&#8217;s speed, finishing second in 2:25.23. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Shokhsanamkhon\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Toshpulatova\u00a0<\/strong>earned bronze with a 2:27.31.<\/p>\n<p>Stetsenko finished fourth in 2:28.95. <strong>Colleen Young\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA was fifth in 2:30.85.<\/p>\n<p>Spain&#8217;s <strong>Ariadna Edo Beltran\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.45), Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alessia Berra\u00a0<\/strong>(2:37.91), and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Prue Watt\u00a0<\/strong>(2:39.06) rounded out the final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men\u2019s 100m Backstroke S10<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>added another Paralympic and World record to the morning\u2019s count, touching in 58.25. Tonight he swam over a second faster, stopping the clock in 57.24. The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Olivier Van de Voort\u00a0<\/strong>was also under the old mark, taking silver in 58.10. Bronze went to Krypak&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Denys Dubrov\u00a0<\/strong>in 59.37.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Brasil\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil finished fourth in 59.55. Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benoit Huot\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.33) and\u00a0<strong>Alec Elliot\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.45) were fifth and seventh. In sixth was\u00a0<strong>Michael Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.37) from Australia while\u00a0<strong>Riccardo Menciotti\u00a0<\/strong>of Italy finished eighth in 1:02.70.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 100m Backstroke S10<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sophie Pascoe\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand touched first in 1:07.04. Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bianka Pap\u00a0<\/strong>claimed silver in 1:07.95 and Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alice Tai\u00a0<\/strong>finished the podium in 1:09.39.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aurelie Rivard\u00a0<\/strong>(1:09.62) and the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lisa Kruger\u00a0<\/strong>(1:10.59) followed. Kruger&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Marije Oosterhuis\u00a0<\/strong>wound up eight tonight in 1:13.07.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariana Ribeiro\u00a0<\/strong>(1:11.03) and\u00a0<strong>Anaelle Roulet\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.21) of France were sixth and seventh.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400m Freestyle S11<\/h3>\n<p>Americans took home gold and silver.\u00a0<strong>Bradley Snyder\u00a0<\/strong>had a dominating performance, touching in 4:28.78 to win ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Tharon Drake\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:40.96. Bronze went to\u00a0<strong>Matheus Souza\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil with a 4:41.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Israel Oliver\u00a0<\/strong>(4:43.17) of Spain was fourth. Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Viktor Smyrnov\u00a0<\/strong>(4:48.71) and\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Zalevskyi\u00a0<\/strong>(5:02.38) were fifth and sixth. Argentina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sergio Zayas\u00a0<\/strong>(5:06.77) and Lithuania&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edgaras Matakas\u00a0<\/strong>(5:30.66) completed the heat.<\/p>\n<h3>Women\u2019s 400m Freestyle S11<\/h3>\n<p>Stopping the clock in 5:15.08,\u00a0<strong>Liesette Bruinsma\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands took gold. Just over a second behind,\u00a0<strong>Cecilia Camellini\u00a0<\/strong>of Italy earned silver in 5:16.36. Bronze went to China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Qing Xie\u00a0<\/strong>in 5:25.14.<\/p>\n<p>In 5:28.28, <strong>Mary Fisher<\/strong>\u00a0of New Zealand finished fourth.
