Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Blake Cochrane\u00a0<\/strong>(1:20.08) and\u00a0<strong>Simon Boer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:20.43) of the Netherlands finished close together. Both racing in hear one, China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hong Yang\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.27) and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tomotaro Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>(1:21.97) qualified fourth and fifth.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jianfeng Chen\u00a0<\/strong>(1:22.45) and Americans\u00a0<strong>Evan Austin\u00a0<\/strong>(1:23.48) and\u00a0<strong>Rudy Garcia-Tolson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:23.82) complete tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Breaststroke SB7<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Marks\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA touched in a new Paralympic record time of 1:28.83. The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lisa Den Braber\u00a0<\/strong>qualified second in 1:34.13, just faster than\u00a0<strong>Jessica Long\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA with a 1:34.48.<\/p>\n<p>In fourth was\u00a0<strong>Tess Routliffe\u00a0<\/strong>of Canada in 1:36.34 while American\u00a0<strong>Mallory Weggemann\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth in 1:37.88.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oksana Khrul\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.89), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Veronica Almeida\u00a0<\/strong>(1:42.88), and the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vendula Duskova\u00a0<\/strong>(1:44.51) also earned lanes in tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S6<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hongguang Jia\u00a0<\/strong>edged\u00a0<strong>Nelson Crispin Corzo\u00a0<\/strong>29.66 to 29.68 for the top seed. Cuba&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lorenzo Perez Escalona\u00a0<\/strong>was third this morning in 30.24. The fourth seed went to\u00a0<strong>Qing Xu\u00a0<\/strong>of China in 30.82. Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oleksandr Komarov\u00a0<\/strong>(31.07) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Haanappel\u00a0<\/strong>(31.47) followed. Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oscar Osorio Campaz\u00a0<\/strong>and the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Thijs Van Hofweegen\u00a0<\/strong>tied for seventh in 31.81.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S6<\/h3>\n<p>The Ukrainian duo of\u00a0<strong>Yelyzaveta Mereshko\u00a0<\/strong>(33.53) and\u00a0<strong>Viktoriia Savtsova\u00a0<\/strong>(34.68) took the top two seeds with Mereshko setting a Paralympic record along the way. In third this morning was\u00a0<strong>Ellie Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain in 34.99.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tiffany Thomas Kane (<\/strong>35.27) and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lingling Song\u00a0<\/strong>(35.41) were also under 36 this morning. Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eleanor Simmonds\u00a0<\/strong>(36.44) and Ireland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicole Turner\u00a0<\/strong>(36.70) and\u00a0Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emanuela Romano\u00a0<\/strong>(37.04) also secured lanes in tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50m Butterfly S5<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Shiwei He\u00a0<\/strong>out touched the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Roy Perkins\u00a0<\/strong>35.74 to 35.75 this morning. Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniel Dias\u00a0<\/strong>(36.86) touched third.\u00a0<strong>Andrew Mullen\u00a0<\/strong>of Britain stopped the clock in 38.19 for the fourth seed ahead of Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Beytullah Eroglu\u00a0<\/strong>(38.61) and Vietnam&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Thanh Tung Vo\u00a0<\/strong>(38.76). Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Edgar Hugo Pinedo Castro\u00a0<\/strong>(39.20) and Slovenia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Darko Duric\u00a0<\/strong>(40.99) will also race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50m Butterfly S5<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Xihan Xu\u00a0<\/strong>of China\u00a0was first to the wall with a 43.90. Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Reka Kezdi\u00a0<\/strong>(46.13) was second and Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Teresa Perales\u00a0<\/strong>(47.73) touched third.<\/p>\n<p>In a 48.33 Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Giulia Ghiretti\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth, just ahead of Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Natallia Shavel\u00a0<\/strong>in 49.78.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sevilay Ozturk\u00a0<\/strong>(49.94), Norway&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Louise Rung\u00a0<\/strong>(50.63) and Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joana Maria Silva\u00a0<\/strong>(51.56) will race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50m Backstroke S3<\/h3>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Vynohradets&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>was the top qualifier in 45.97. Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vincenzo Boni\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 47.16 ahead of a Chinese duo of\u00a0<strong>Jianping Du\u00a0<\/strong>(47.35) and\u00a0<strong>Wenpan Huang\u00a0<\/strong>(49.24). Their teammate\u00a0<strong>Hanhua Li\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixth this morning in 55.29. Fifth seed goes to Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miguel Angel Martinez Tajuelo\u00a0<\/strong>in 51.69.<\/p>\n<p>Chile&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alberto Abarza\u00a0<\/strong>(56.73) and Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mikael Fredriksson\u00a0<\/strong>(56.91) also finished under a minute.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50m Backstroke S3<\/h3>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Guofen Meng\u00a0<\/strong>clocked a Paralympic record of 52.64 in the first heat. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Quiping Peng\u00a0<\/strong>then lowered that mark and took the world record with a 49.91. the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Lisette Teunissen\u00a0<\/strong>will be tonight&#8217;s third seed in 54.34 while Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Olga Sviderska\u00a0<\/strong>(56.49) will be fourth. Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Stamatopoulou\u00a0<\/strong>(58.47) also cleared a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maiara Regina Perreira Barreto\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.94), Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Semicha Rizaoglou\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.18) and Kazakhstan&#8217;s <strong>Zulfiya Gabidullina\u00a0<\/strong>(1:06.46) will also race again tonight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200m IM SM13<\/h3>\n<p>Another Paralympic record went down. This time it was Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Ihar Boki\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:06.13. Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Iaroslav Denysenko\u00a0<\/strong>(2:12.87) and\u00a0<strong>Danylo Chufarov\u00a0<\/strong>(2:15.36) were second and third this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Azerbaijan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dzmitry Salei\u00a0<\/strong>edged Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sergii Klippert\u00a0<\/strong>2:16.31 to 2:16.35. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sean Russo\u00a0<\/strong>was just another .02 behind in 2:16.37.\u00a0Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dmitriy Horlin\u00a0<\/strong>was another half second back with a 2:16.84. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Templeton\u00a0<\/strong>completed the top eight in 2:18.72.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200m IM SM13<\/h3>\n<p>Uzbekistan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Fotimakhon\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Amilova\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in a new Paralympic and World record of 2:24.43. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Shokhsanamkhon Toshpulatova\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third with a 2:30.16. Between the duo was the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rebecca Meyers\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:29.88.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anna Stetsenko\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 2:31.96 and American\u00a0<strong>Colleen Young\u00a0<\/strong>qualified fifth in 2:32.75.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alessia Berra\u00a0<\/strong>(2:36.39), Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ariadna Edo Beltran\u00a0<\/strong>(2:38.29) and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Prue Watt\u00a0<\/strong>(2:40.48) round out tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100m Backstroke S10<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>added another Paralympic and World record to the morning&#8217;s count, touching in 58.25. Just behind him was the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Olivier Van De Voort\u00a0<\/strong>in 58.53.\u00a0<strong>Denys Dubrov\u00a0<\/strong>of Ukraine finished third this morning with a 1:00.78. Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Michael Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth in 1:01.02. Only .01 behind him was Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benoit Huot\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:01.03, and another .05 behind was\u00a0<strong>Andrew Brasil\u00a0<\/strong>of Brazil in 1:01.08.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alec Elliot\u00a0<\/strong>of Canada (1:01.36) and\u00a0<strong>Riccardo Menciotti\u00a0<\/strong>of Italy (1:02.63) round out tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100m Backstroke S10<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Sophie Pascoe\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand led qualifying this morning in 1:07.23. Hungary&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bianka Pap\u00a0<\/strong>secured the second spot in 1:09.15.\u00a0<strong>Alice Tai\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain finished third with a 1:09.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aurelie Rivard\u00a0<\/strong>(1:10.47) and\u00a0<strong>Lisa Kruger\u00a0<\/strong>(1:10.56), representing Canada and the Netherlands were next.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anaelle Roulet\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.20), Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariana Ribeiro\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.34), and Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Marije Oosterhuis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:12.41) also qualified for tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400m Freestyle S11<\/h3>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cecilia Camellini\u00a0<\/strong>(5:19.17) led the way this morning. Less than a second behind her was the Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Liesette Bruinsma\u00a0<\/strong>in 5:20.04. Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daniela Schulte\u00a0<\/strong>(5:27.41) was also under 5:30.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary Fisher\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand (5:33.64) finished ahead of a trio of Chinese:\u00a0<strong>Qing Xie\u00a0<\/strong>(5:34.81),\u00a0<strong>Guizhi Li\u00a0<\/strong>(5:42.18), and\u00a0<strong>Liwen Cai\u00a0<\/strong>(5:43.41).
