To take the top seed, China&#8217;s<strong> Benying Liu<\/strong> swam a new world record time of 1:50.67. He was followed by the Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Serhii Palamarchuk<\/strong> in 1:51.23. In a distant third and fourth place were the Chinese duo of\u00a0<strong>Liankang Zhou\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Yang Yang\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:58.29 and 2:02.34, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ivegen Panibratets<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Roman Bondarenko<\/strong>, both from the Ukraine, were fifth and sixth in 2:10.47 and 2:14.94. Greece&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Aristeidis Markrodimitris<\/strong> was seventh in 2:19.25, and Poland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacek Czech<\/strong> rounded out tonight&#8217;s final in 2:24.83.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S7<\/h1>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Levy<\/strong> took the top seed for tonight&#8217;s final in a quick time of 28.55. Close behind him in second was Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carlos Serrano Zarate<\/strong> in 28.87. Serrano Zarate just out-touched China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jingang Wang<\/strong>, who touched at 28.89.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth place went to\u00a0<strong>Ievgenii Bogodaiko\u00a0<\/strong>of the Ukraine in 29.24, while Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Fox<\/strong> took fifth in 29.77.\u00a0<strong>Shiyun Pan\u00a0<\/strong>of China was sixth in 29.81.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tobias Pollap<\/strong> touched seventh in 30.23, while\u00a0<strong>Michael Jones\u00a0<\/strong>of Great Britain was eighth in 30.67.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S7<\/h1>\n<p>The first women&#8217;s event of the morning kicked off with a Paralympic record from the United States&#8217;\u00a0<strong>McKenzie Coan<\/strong> with a time of 32.57. Over half a second behind Coan, Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Denise Grahl<\/strong> touched second in 33.28. Coan&#8217;s American teammate\u00a0<strong>Cortney Jordan\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 34.07.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Susannah Rodgers<\/strong> of Great Britain took fourth place in 34.42, just ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yajing Huang<\/strong>, who had a time of 34.50. Sixth place went to Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tess Routliffe<\/strong> in 34.74.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top eight were China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liting Ke<\/strong> and\u00a0Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sarah Mehain<\/strong> in 34.81 and 34.91, respectively.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 50m Butterfly S6<\/h1>\n<p>Once again this morning the Chinese team proved to be very dominant. Taking the top two spots,\u00a0<strong>Lichao Wang<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Tao Zheng<\/strong> finished in 30.89 and 31.25. Colombia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nelson Crispin Corzo<\/strong> was third in 31.27. The third Chinese swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Qing Xu<\/strong>, took fourth place in 31.74.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth place went to Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sascha Kindred<\/strong> in 32.76, while Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kyosuke Oyama<\/strong> was sixth in 33.06.\u00a0<strong>Talisson Glock<\/strong> of Brazil was seventh in 33.74.\u00a0<strong>Nathan Clement\u00a0<\/strong>from Canada took the final spot in tonight&#8217;s final in 34.04.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 50m Butterfly S6<\/h1>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ellie Robinson<\/strong> holds a solid lead coming out of the morning with a top time of 36.62. Second to her was the Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oksana Khrul<\/strong> in 37.16.\u00a0<strong>Tiffany Thomas Kane<\/strong> of Australia was third in 37.81.<\/p>\n<p>Ireland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicole Turner<\/strong> was fourth in 38.44. Following in fifth place was China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dong Lu\u00a0<\/strong>in 39.11.\u00a0<strong>Ozlem Kaya<\/strong> of Turkey touched sixth in 40.65.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh place went to\u00a0<strong>Thi Bich Nhu Trinh<\/strong> of Vietnam in 42.08, while\u00a0<strong>Olena Fedota<\/strong> of the Ukraine was eighth in 42.75.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S10<\/h1>\n<p>Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Maksym Krypak\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Denys Dubrov<\/strong> took this morning&#8217;s top two spots with times of 23.45 and 24.01 respectively. Just behind Dubrov was Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Phelipe Rodrigues<\/strong> in 24.07.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathan Stein\u00a0<\/strong>from Canada was fourth in 24.34, while Brazilian\u00a0<strong>Andre Brasil<\/strong> was fifth in 24.36. Sixth place went to Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rowan Crothers\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 24.49.<\/p>\n<p>Stein&#8217;s Canadian teammate\u00a0<strong>Alec Elliot<\/strong> took seventh in 25.04. Rounding out the top eight was Australian\u00a0<strong>Guy Harrison-Murray<\/strong> with a time of 25.08.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 50m Freestyle S10<\/h1>\n<p>Another Paralympic record was broken this morning, this time by\u00a0<strong>Aurelie Rivard<\/strong> of Canada with a time of 27.83. Rivard was just ahead of New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sophie Pascoe<\/strong>, who touched in 27.95. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yi Chen<\/strong> rounded out the top three in 28.20.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth place went to France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elodie Lorandi<\/strong> with a time of 28.89. Just behind her was\u00a0<strong>Lina Watz\u00a0<\/strong>of Sweden in 28.93.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chantal Molenkamp\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands took sixth place in 28.99, out-touching\u00a0Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mariana Ribeiro<\/strong> in 29.02.\u00a0<strong>Chantalle Zijderveld\u00a0<\/strong>from the Netherlands took tonight&#8217;s final spot in 29.06.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 100m Backstroke S11<\/h1>\n<p>Poland&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wojciech Makowski<\/strong> led the men&#8217;s backstroke this morning with a time of 1:09.40. Close behind him was Australian\u00a0<strong>Jeremy McClure<\/strong> in 1:09.79. China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bozun Yang<\/strong> was third in 1:10.40, just ahead of American\u00a0<strong>Bradley Snyder\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:10.44.<\/p>\n<p>Snyder was followed by Ukrainian teammates\u00a0<strong>Dmytro Zalevskyi\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Viktor Smyrnov<\/strong> for fifth and sixth places with times of 1:10.84 and 1:11.36, respectively.\u00a0<strong>Chenquan<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Lou<\/strong> of China took seventh in 1:11.64.\u00a0<strong>Oleksandr Mashchenko<\/strong> was the third Ukrainian to make it into the final with a time of 1:13.69.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 100m Backstroke S11<\/h1>\n<p>With a dominant swim and a new Paralympic record, New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mary Fisher<\/strong> took the top spot for tonight&#8217;s final with a time of 1:18.68. Fisher was nearly two full seconds behind her next closest competitor, China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liwen Cai<\/strong>, who touched in 1:20.59. Following Cai were two Ukrainian teammates,\u00a0<strong>Maryna Piddubna\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Kateryna Tkachuk<\/strong> in 1:21.81 and 1:21.90, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Italian\u00a0<strong>Cecilia Camellini\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 1:22.01.\u00a0<strong>Guizhi Li<\/strong> of China touched sixth in 1:23.34. In seventh and eighth places were Sweden&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maja Reichard<\/strong> in 1:25.19 and Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chikako Ono<\/strong> in 1:25.36.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 400m Freestyle S9<\/h1>\n<p>In the longest event of the morning, Australian\u00a0<strong>Brenden Hall<\/strong> took the top seed with a time of 4:20.46. He was followed by Italian\u00a0<strong>Federico Morlacchi<\/strong> in 4:22.20. Just behind Morlacchi was Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lewis White<\/strong> in 4:22.63.<\/p>\n<p>Portugal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Grachat<\/strong> took fourth in 4:22.86, just out-touching Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jose Antonio Mari Alcaraz<\/strong> in 4:22.89. Sixth place went to White&#8217;s British teammate\u00a0<strong>Jonathan Booth\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:24.86.<\/p>\n<p>Croatia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kristijan Vincetic\u00a0<\/strong>and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Logan Powell<\/strong> finished in seventh and eighth places, with times of 4:27.87 and 4:28.94, respectively.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 400m Freestyle S9<\/h1>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s distance, another Australian took the top seed, with\u00a0<strong>Ellie Cole\u00a0<\/strong>finishing in a time of 4:50.19. Cole was exactly a second ahead of second place finisher\u00a0<strong>Jialing Xu <\/strong>of China with a time of 4:51.19. Third place went to\u00a0<strong>Manon Vermarien\u00a0<\/strong>of the Netherlands in 4:53.26.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Amy Marren\u00a0<\/strong>took fourth in 4:54.44, while Spain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nuria Marques Soto<\/strong> was fifth in 4:54.98.\u00a0<strong>Emily Gray<\/strong> of South Africa touched sixth in 4:58.10.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top eight were Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Zsofia Konkoly<\/strong> in 4:59.81 and American\u00a0<strong>Natalie Sims<\/strong> in 5:04.69.<\/p>\n<h1>Men&#8217;s 100m Butterfly S8<\/h1>\n<p>In yet another event this morning, the Chinese dominated, with\u00a0<strong>Haijiao Xu\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Guanglong Yang<\/strong> taking the top two spots in tonight&#8217;s final with times of 1:01.01 and 1:01.02, respectively. France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charles Rozoy<\/strong> was just behind in 1:01.15. The third Chinese swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Maodang Song<\/strong>, took fourth in 1:01.56.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth place went to Mexico&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luis Armando Andrade Guillen<\/strong> with a time of 1:03.91.\u00a0<strong>Andreas Onea<\/strong> of Austria was sixth in 1:04.84, while Australian\u00a0<strong>Jesse Aungles\u00a0<\/strong>was seventh in 1:05.37. American\u00a0<strong>Evan Austin\u00a0<\/strong>took the eight spot for\u00a0tonight&#8217;s final with a time of 1:05.94.<\/p>\n<h1>Women&#8217;s 100m Butterfly S8<\/h1>\n<p>The Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kateryna Istomina<\/strong> had a dominant morning swim, leading the heats with a time of 1:10.36. She was followed by\u00a0<strong>Jessica Long\u00a0<\/strong>from the United States in 1:11.56. Third place went to China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Weiyuan Lu<\/strong> in 1:12.29.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maddison Elliott<\/strong> from Australia took fourth place with a time of 1:16.18, while Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Slater<\/strong> was fifth in 1:16.32. Seventh place went to China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xiaoqin Jin<\/strong> in 1:16.94.<\/p>\n<p>Another American swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Mallory Weggemann<\/strong> finished seventh in 1:18.44.\u00a0<strong>Lakeisha Patterson<\/strong> of Australia was eighth in 1:19.96.<\/p>\n<h1>Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay<\/h1>\n<p>To continue their strong morning, the\u00a0<strong>Ukrainian<\/strong> team took the top seed with a time of 2:32.19.
