With seven events contested on the women&#8217;s side this morning,\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>once again established herself as the one\u00a0to beat. The Iron Lady took the top seeds in the 200 backstroke (2:04.18), 200 IM (2:09.69), 100 butterfly (57.27), and 200 freestyle (1:58.16). Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>set the world cup record just last week in the 200 backstroke. This morning she qualified second in 2:06.25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Miley\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.84) and\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>(1:58.93) are second and third seeds for tonight&#8217;s 200 freestyle. In the 100 butterfly,\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>qualified second with her 57.81. Ottesen led the way in the 50 freestyle, stopping the clock in 24.32 this morning, a half second ahead of the next best swimmers,\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>(24.93) and\u00a0<strong>Holly Barratt\u00a0<\/strong>(24.85).<\/p>\n<p>After tying the 100 breaststroke world record last week,\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson\u00a0<\/strong>set herself to take aim at the 1:02.36 mark again tonight. The Jamaican touched in 1:04.79 this morning, with <strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>just behind in 1:05.09.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>sprinted to the top of the 50 backstroke with a 26.76 this morning.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side,\u00a0<strong>Andrii Govorov\u00a0<\/strong>was the only swimmer to earn more than one top seed this morning. The Ukrainian qualified first in the 50 butterfly (22.29) and 100 freestyle (47.62).\u00a0<strong>Valdimir Morozov\u00a0<\/strong>was on his heels with a 47.71 in the 100 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>After setting a world record in the 100 IM last week, Morozov (54.29) cruised through prelims in the fourth spot.\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>is the top qualifier with a 53.33 and\u00a0<strong>Dominki Franke\u00a0<\/strong>will be seeded second in 53.90.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>edged\u00a0<strong>Kirill Prigoda\u00a0<\/strong>for the top spot in the 200 breaststroke as the two touched in 2:07.18 and 2:07.58.
