{"id":219685,"date":"2016-08-29T09:53:19","date_gmt":"2016-08-29T16:53:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=219685"},"modified":"2016-08-29T09:53:19","modified_gmt":"2016-08-29T16:53:19","slug":"georgia-tech-swimming-diving-announce-2016-17-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/georgia-tech-swimming-diving-announce-2016-17-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Georgia Tech Swimming &#038; Diving Announce 2016-17 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>THE FLATS \u2013 <\/strong>Georgia Tech\u2019s swimming and diving program is excited to announce its complete 2016-17 schedule, which is highlighted by 10 home meets at the McAuley Aquatic Center, including the Georgia Tech Invitational on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957637\">Nov. 17-19<\/span> and the USA Winter Nationals from <span data-term=\"goog_1661957638\">Nov. 30 thru Dec. 3<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter coming off a very successful and record breaking season last year, I am very excited about the upcoming year,\u201d stated head coach <strong>Courtney Shealy Hart<\/strong>. \u201cWe have several strong schools coming to compete at Georgia Tech this year, as well as some great competition in meets on the road away from the McAuley Aquatic Center. This schedule is a challenging one that will only help our program and our student-athletes continue to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following a White vs. Gold intrasquad dual meet on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957639\">Sept. 23-24<\/span> at the McAuley Aquatic Center, the Yellow Jackets will dive into its challenging 2016-17 regular season slate at home versus Georgia Southern on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957640\">Friday, Sept. 30<\/span>, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957641\">4 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After trekking north for a dual meet versus Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957642\">Friday, Oct. 7<\/span>, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957643\">3 p.m.<\/span> and an ACC tri-meet with Boston College and Pittsburgh in Boston, Mass. the following day, <span data-term=\"goog_1661957644\">Oct. 8<\/span>, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957645\">5 p.m.<\/span>, Tech will return home to host both Notre Dame and Emory in a two-day tri-meet on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957646\">Oct. 21-22<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Just under <span data-term=\"goog_1661957647\">two weeks later<\/span>, the Yellow Jackets will return to the McAuley Aquatic Center to host rival Georgia in a mid-week clash on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957648\">Wednesday, Nov. 2<\/span>, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957649\">4 p.m.<\/span>, before hosting the annual Georgia Tech Invitational on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957650\">Nov. 17-19<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The Jackets will then host the USA Winter Nationals on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957651\">Nov. 30 thru Dec. 3<\/span> and will conclude the fall semester of the 2016-17 slate in a winter break meet versus Cincinnati and another opponent to be determined in mid-December in Naples, Fla.<\/p>\n<p>Succeeding another intrasquad meet to kick-off the spring semester on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957652\">Jan. 4<\/span>, the Yellow Jackets will hit the road for a tri-meet with Virginia Tech and Kentucky in Blacksburg, Va. on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957653\">Jan. 6-7<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Tech will then return home for back-to-back meets to wrap up the month of January. Tech will host Alabama on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957654\">Friday, Jan. 20<\/span>, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957655\">4 p.m.<\/span> and then will host both SCAD and Florida State the following week on Saturday, Jan. 28, at <span data-term=\"goog_1661957657\">11 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 2017 ACC Women\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championships will take place on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957658\">Feb. 15-18<\/span> at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C., while the 2017 ACC Men\u2019s Swimming and Diving Championships will follow on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957659\">Feb. 22-25<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The Yellow Jackets will host two meets in the month of February with the Women\u2019s Time Trials <span data-term=\"goog_1661957660\">on Thursday<\/span> and <span data-term=\"goog_1661957661\">Friday, Feb. 23-24<\/span>, and the Women\u2019s Last Chance meet on Saturday, Feb. 25, before returning to the McAuley Aquatic Center for the GT NCAA Qualifier <span data-term=\"goog_1661957663\">on Saturday<\/span> and <span data-term=\"goog_1661957664\">Sunday, Mar. 4-5<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Tech divers will then set its sights on the NCAA Zone Diving Championships on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957665\">Mar. 6-8<\/span> in Auburn, Ala., while the entire team will look to take part in the 2017 NCAA Women\u2019s Championships on Mar. 15-18 and the NCAA Men\u2019s Championships on <span data-term=\"goog_1661957667\">Mar. 22-25<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><em>For the latest information on Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Swimming &amp;
